Great choice I had one which replaced my 997 money pit. Elise is Way more fun and cheap to run over the dull Porsche. Tried a Cayman which was more fun than the 911 , wish I kept the Lotus. Maybe when im too old for a Lotus I will get a Porsche again. Only in my 50s so now in a Elise s3. Thanks for sharing your beautiful Elise. Hold on to it now Lotus is dead, it’s the last drivers car.

Thank you for your post! I'm in the market for a new sport tourer. Having owned about 4 Multistradas and recently a 2023 BMW S1000XR (blah), I'm torn between an Aprilia Tuono V4 factory (with touring windscreen) and a KTM Super Duke GT.

If you’re deciding between these 2 bikes I would say the Aprillia, I toured Scotland on mine and it was fine (I did a video) - the KTM was a great bike, but they can be quite unreliable. The Aprillia was a great stable, powerful bike.

The cars technology is so much better with the new generation IDrive with voice commands. Also because the 430 is a 2.0L twin turbo engine its far more economical. They have stopped making them, but I'm trying to get my hands on one of the last made.

you got a ktm for fuel economy? i have a 2016 and it sucks down gas, same milage as a concorse14. guess its all perspective and what you are coming from. when I'm getting after it I find the abs incredibly intrusive, the electronic suspension gets wack I think it gets confused by california roads and goes wicked harsh even in street (if anyone knows where I can get 2019 electronic suspension update in california please let me know all the shops I call sound confused when I bring it up). ktm is not known for good luggage and these are no exception. the saddle bags are a wiered shape an odd trapezoid in both directions, they are small in volume and wide enough to catch the wind and hit the fuel economy touring, if anything is resting agienst the lid when its closed it dosent seal and lets water in, its verry difficult to know if they are properly lached and I had one fly open on the freeway tearing out the stop block and damaging the lid. once had a pool toy wad up in the real wheel and for some reason ever since whenever the battery voltage is slightly low it gives me a warning light for the front brake light switch. the switch works fine but every time it comes up it cancels the cruise control witch is pretty jarring when you dont expect it. changing the front brake light sitch is a job and a half because you have to tear apart the entire front of the bike. the dumb switch has a pig tail and plugs in way down under the gas tank, and I dont even know if that will fix the problem. this is my first European bike and the first oil change they flesed me $496, highway robbery! I learned to do it myself after that. i used a antigravity battery and when stuck in traffic one day and with the exhaust tight there it got so hot that it when into thermal shutdown and shut the bike off completely dead. I had to push it to the nearest exit to cool off the battery before I could make it wake up again. just stick with the stock battery. for me the handling is alright. it wants a good sticky front tire or eltse it goes all ghost on me and dosent put it where I expect it, but if I do it will be worn out in like 5 good rides. i just put sport touring rubber on and just live with the divorced front end. my concorse eats rubber too but feels direct nomater what I put on and its a far hevier bike with triple the miles. I like its got the brains to run regular gas withought causing issues. the stock seat is super nice, feels hard then I notice I've riden 8 hours in one day and the seat barley crossed my mind. I've had softer seats that feel like torture after 3. people complain about the heat from the engine to me its barley noticeable. the power to weight of this bike rivals the h2sx witch is neat, real rocketship. overall good bike do not recommend unless you get a deal under 10 grand. the most problematic bike I have ever owned. I'm scared to tour far with it away from my tools because if there's an issue the dealers charge so mutch to even look at it.

Hello mate, how has been the reliability of this bike or what's the common reliability aspects of this bikes in general. I want one but in my country there are only 6 of them and a friend of mine got one in part of a car payment, I'm tempted to go ahead and buy it but 1 isn't cheap even though my friend would sell it to me cheaper than he got it 2 tax in my country is outrageous and I am willing to stand for it but I don't want to pay that enormous premium tax and have a bike that just sits on a workshop and last but not least is the fact that as the market sits here in Colombia I would probably be married to her for a long time as isn't the most comercial bike here and people fear this bikes but I'd love to have it, love it and respect it, so hopefully I'll hear from you and your experience and what you see is the comments on this bikes reliability on Europe where there are many of them and people do enjoy them. By the way it's a 2016 gt with all the options, from Akrapovic full system, to heated seats, heated handlebars, panniers, top case, power parts confort seat and normal seat, rizoma everything, and has about 40.000kms we don't know about service history but the best guess is all have been done in KTM as there are not many shops that would work on this bike on important jobs but let's say it has never stepped a KTM shop and imagine has had the worst life possible (it doesn't seem to but you know, better to be prepared for the worst)

flip a coin, no real practical difference you will be happy with either. some people dont like big twins, it will never chill out always on edge ready to bark at the slightest switch of the throttle. it will let you know if you are reving too low cause the whole bike will shake violently. the s1000 will be smooth and feel more friendly esp when you are burbleng around town at low rpm. the BMW should give you better milage too.

Have the same bag, but the venture rack is far better & worth the extra cost .

I loved my S2 '01 for six years and sold it which was a BIG mistake so I went out and bought another. '04 model carbon fibre interior, New all stainless exhaust. New Lotus crate engine at 50K with a mild cam, New Quantum one coilover shocks - rear toe link kit, quick release Racetech steering wheel - New Alloy rims etc etc. By the way I have the exact same AM/FM radio. Pioneer right?

Any comment on reliability. Really want GT but just concerned over reliability and lack of dealerships

There are a lot of comments regarding reliability, but I’ve never had any issues.

Have you noticed more vibrations in the handlebars after removing the end weights to install these?
