if this is 1.0 it's heavily edited. the light sabre provided with 1.0 kit does not give off the diffused look, so you'd need to replace the clear light sabre with the frosted light sabre piece from the original set and just keep the hilt for the light. that way, the light sabre acts as a diffuser and give off more uniform beam of light. also the two console on the sides are just plain blue light, not the more light-electric blue colour of the original lego piece. so it looks kind of old and dinky. it doesn't give off the pale blue light as you see in the video. otherwise, excellent set of lights. Also, i noticed that the LMB use their own plastic pieces, but I did notice that while the red light sabre piece was 3rd party, they still used a genuine green light sabre piece. Are they legally able to do that?

the kits looks very nice. although they have fewer effects than the 1.0 version. But I don't really understand the pricing policy. A Diner 2.0 kit costs €85, which is still ok. A little illuminated museum 130€, which is very expensive for what is on offer. The absolute disgrace is the Jazz Club at €149, which offers neither special lights or anything special. The customer then probably pays for the construction experience with the new instructions. But that's just too much, you're paying for a light kit and not for instructions

Does this mean you will be phasing out the original range? I ask because, although I can imagine the LMB 2.0 can be good with Lego, I use your lights for plastic model kits and the new cables and (larger?) expansion boards won’t work in my case.

I was pleased when the 2.0 sets came out and waited for a potential sale...the holiday sale, along with the gifts with purchase pushed me over the edge to get the lighting sets. I am looking forward to putting together my Winter Village for 2025 with the new lighting sets. It did cost quite a bit but the changes to my display will be worth it. IMO

We got the 2.0 for Rivendell for Christmas. Our first lighting project and Rivendell has been done for a while now, so we're eager to setup the lighting. Glad for something that seems straightforward enough to get this done.

I agree, the cost is really high. However the results are pretty great. I have received several 2.0 kits but I haven't had a chance to build the sets and install the lights. I am looking forward to completing these and I am expecting nice results. When I ordered these 2.0 sets, they were pre-order so they did not ship right away. The amount was over 100 usd so shipping was going to be free. In the mean time, they all went on sale. Since my kits hadn't shipped yet, I contacted them to amend my order with the new pricing. After a number of email back and forths, they finally agreed to grant me a voucher which was around 70 usd. Here's the big problem with vouchers. Even if I purchase over 100 usd in an order, if I use the voucher and it reduces the purchase to under the threshold, I have to pay for shipping. Kinda negates some of the value of the voucher. If the purchase amount is over the threshold, shipping should be included, whether you use a voucher or not. In addition, due to the cost of these kits, the free shipping threshold should be much lower, maybe 25 usd. That would be the appropriate customer focused approach.

I couldn't get the cables connected for the Xmas tree, I decided not to purchase lights or Legos anymore. It shouldn't have be that hard. Hope new system works. 69yr old kid.

I would love to see the website updated with information on which 2.0 part is the replacement for the 1.0 parts. The naming conventions aren't the same so it's not as easy to follow.

1:20 - HEY! I bought the 2.0 version for the UCS Millennium Falcon, and the instructions told me to put the model together before adding any lights! What gives??

I find the old plugs a nightmare to install, so I'm interested in this. I'd love a sort of starter kit that has all the components I need to light up my own MOCs though. The light kits for sets are straightforward, but I can't really figure out what components I need with this system for MOCs.

the one thing i think would revolutionise your kits would be smart home controllers and the ability to turn different areas of a lego set on and off

2.0 is a better system, but looks like you get less bang for your buck, eg you get less lights for equivalent sets, such as in set 75352, you no longer have the option of lighting the emperor’s lightning.. I suspect it’s probably bcoz they have to now dedicate their efforts on producing instructions for adding lights as you build…

Looks like some good improvements. I’ve used several of the original sets and although all went well I struggled making the small connections. Sometime turning them over four or five times before I could get them to fit. Gen 2 looks much easier!

Do you make any lighting sets that are compatible with older Lego sets from the 1980's and the 1990's? I would like to fit your lights into my retro boats.

Less fidelity and more expensive - for example, I got 1.0 for Rivendell and it has individual lights for candles but 2.0 is just general area stuff with maybe a few candle lights based on product pictures. Y'all also got rid of a ton of sets. Glad I got my 1.0 when I did. Sad that I missed out on the other sets I have...

Why there are red front lights?? In movie, they are white (check Episode 5, when they are entering the "cave" on asteroid.

Question, I just went on to your website as I was going to order, but the pictures that are listed are much different than this video. The lighting on the inside now seems to be just one light per floor almost like a fluorescent light and then none of the flickeringwith the stove as well as the candle is there which one of these are true to life as I do want to order.

A wee set back on lighting the tree on the wagon. The tree is designed to turn as the train moves. If you want that wagon to be lit you must disconnect the mechanism that turns the tree alas the train moves.

I just tried installing the LMB rivendell 2.0 kit this was my second LMB kit my fist was for NASA artimis. I have yet to buy a kit from Light My Bricks that hasn't been missing parts. The fact that you can only get support by email, no telephone support makes any progress on problem solutions takes a lot longer. I have to say so far I'm not very impressed with Light My Bricks.

I just got this kit and hit a problem spot. I opened bag 5 and instructions call for WW-AR15 and package 5 came with AL15 in that package. Is it the same part the interchangeable, or is there an issue with the parts we received. So far it has been way better than the other light kit we used that required us to take it apart after building it. Thanks in advance.

Do you sell a kit that is only the base lamps? I have a lighting kit already but the base around the trees isn’t illuminated. Would love what you have (but can’t justify a whole new light kit).
