How fast?
Yapping caller. 😂
The Q500....the most pathetic excuse for RC pylon racing.....
WTF they can't even walk out there!
Very Cool ,You Da Pylon-Jet Man
i got quickie 500 too, my experience is i need dual rate control, low rate while racing and high rate during takeoff and landing. Control sensitivity too much difference during high speed and low speed. do you guy have similar experience?
Yes. You got it exactly. Low rate for takeoff and racing. High rate only for landing. You shouldn't need high rate for take off. Just a bit of up and right rudder, right aileron on take off. CG set at 2-15/16" from leading edge
@@cx9drvr thank for you confirmation, i alway suspect is my setting problem, now i know this is the normal behaviour of this aircraft and noted on the takeoff no need for high rate. thank for your info.
run at 2:45
Great video. I am going to start flying 426 this year. Looks like fun.
stay out of traffic 😂
Sad, the language that passes for normal these days.
Agreed. Never heard any of that when i was racing in the 90s. Poor reflection on the hobby and racers for sure.
That's fast
"Check around the corner" means I need to smoke a bowl
Doo doo happens.
I could tell by the outfits these guys were intermediate skiers
Especially full face guy
Near miss at the end! Fantastic piloting!
Very good informative Video. Who was the caller ?
The Caller was me (Randy Smith)
Oh. Ok. Then who's the Pilot ? Sorry. Just curious
Awesome Video. We need more of these.
Pilot is Roy Andrassy. We are both from Calgary, Alberta. Racing at the US National championships.
Looks fun,I will have to try it this year
Nice flight, low and steady.
bad air is real...from the plane in the lead, the air is turbulent and moving the same speed as your airplane causes zero lift, and the plane quits flying. air pocket traveling at 150mph, and your airplane doing 150mph in that pocket, airspeed =0mph sometimes you can recover with some height...
Thanks for sharing. Good coverage.
Did you file a complaint that the air was below competition standards? :-)
Looks like sweet pilot error, but we will say it was bad air.
Tell Bryan that at 2:30 into the video he looks like he's trying to hump the tail! LOL
In hindsight you really didn't have to tell him about the cut. ;)
Wow, those are quick! Subscribed!
Thanks for posting another race, Roy needs to watch that thumb nail, he may get it trimmed !!!! starting procedure saves messing with a well set needle.
Shame about the cut on 3, your red model is clear in the shots today. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for posting another race.
Thanks Tim. Tough day today. Cuts got to us today. More video from today presently uploading. I'll post when complete
Way to go Roy! Obviously Randy calling for you! In your own words to me...kickass! :-)
Hi Kevin, The contest organizers wanted all pilot to race all other pilots. For this reason they decided not to use wing labels and we change lanes every round so that we all race each other.
Why did they not use the lane set up we use here?
Good one Randy, keep posting please.
Good one Randy, keep posting please.
Good one Randy, keep posting please.
Mike Helsel, in the red and yellow checker plane, crashed because there was a mid-air collision with Tom Scott flying the white plane. The battery pack caught fire on impact. My partner, Roy, in the blue and yellow plane had to land with only two laps to go because Tom Scott in the white plane came very close to another mid-air (with Roy) but the impact only damaged Roy's propeller so Roy had to land before the end of the race
+Randy Smith so how many laps they can manage to do at full throttle? Btw EFI is really tempting i loved the action in this video.
On the fist landing shown, did he land because he had trouble with the aircraft, or because there was a collision?
those look quite a challenge to land, even on a glide they go fast
Randy, why all pilot standing so backward (near line between pylon 2 and 3), why not in front near starting line? any special reason for this?
+Arief Dharmawan Hi Arief, Some pilots do stand by the start line but it is difficult to judge the plane's distance from the two base pylons (#2 and #3) if you are standing by the start line. Therefore many pilots stand near the base line and many stand near to pylon #2 to properly line up the plane coming towards them from pylon #1. The pilot that I was calling for (Roy) likes to stand centered between the pylons and right on the baseline. This allows Roy to make a nice tight turn right around in front of himself and he can clearly see how close he is to pylons#2 and #3
thank you for your kind explanation. this is using jett40 engine? what is the best time?
Just one of the Canadian crew trying to take out Doug anyway he can! LOL. I think Doug's plane was OK.
I hope the two planes that contacted on landing are okay! That was amazing.
I've never seen anything like this. That was awesome.
Yep. That's Q40 pylon racing. The fastest guys on the planet. :o)
We had one flown at our field, flies nice and it's fast. Would make a great club racer.
Nice weather for you practice flying. Seems to be not to bad, Roy have no glowes on his hands. Good luck in Phoenix.
