Using a Quilting Hoop: Hand Quilting Series
Best ever video on the Rocking quilt stitch! Thank you so much for sharing this.
Really useful to see the further travelling. The book explained this but I couldn’t picture it. I was also surprised how easily the eye came though 1) I thought it would be tough to penetrate the fabric being effectively “blunt” 2) I was surprised it was a done thing since you’d think it would leave a massive hole
You make it look so easy 😮 I keep trying to do it but I just don't have the coordination.
I'm sorry that FOQ caused you pain in some ways. We are so grateful for the difference you have made to the Guild. Xxx
3:13 Very bad sound. Sound like it's bouncing off the walls
I loved this, Katy! And I very much admire your tenacity.
Love, love, love what you’re doing! Found you through the Kate’s Last Homely House. Keep going. We can all learn and enjoy our creativity through each other.
Awesome short video! Love, love the Crazy Patch Quilt! HSTs are my jam! Also LOVE the crazy quit squares! Reminds me of something my mom made when I was a child! Thank for taking me back to some warm, creative times! Also thank you for sharing your thoughts! I am newly inspired! Thank you Kaffe!
Love it ... This will not help me with my hoarding tendencies 😅
Thnak you Katy for the temperature quilt along videos, just seen them all. Super ideas in how to get to know the members of the guild and to interact and check on what projects we are doing. The zoom idea would be great is if in the evening, as coffe morning will be hard for the ones who are working. Really looking forward to seeing the next row! ☀🫶
Hi Katy, thak you for this temperature quilt, I have just seen all the videos and it's a lovely idea! Not sure if I will start another project at the moment but this ai a great use of scraps, playing with colour and other elements like the mood, whether, etc. Also it would be brilliant to get to know other members and the monthly zoom is super idea! Please do it and hopefuly we can interact and enjoy more those ideas! :)
Brilliant idea. I love saving things from waste.
I love Chris' creativity and his perfectly imperfect approach to improv piecing and quilting. It's fantastic!
A Great tutorial Chris. so well delivered with practical and encouraging advice. All who watch will be encouraged to leave the constraints behind and try your improv technique for a fun journey.
Oh I do wish that Chris would have his own UTube channel…
I am in awe. I found this by searching for tips on even stitching. First I see you sewing and invisible perfect curve. Then I read that you DON'T HOLD THE NEEDLE!??? whaaaat? Mind blown. Thank you for sharing!
Great fun to watch!
Hi Chris teresa here I absolutely luv the way you work your imagination is great I love the x stitches and the green is beautiful if you said two shirt sleeves the cushions so interesting I luv Huddersfield what a lovely place we live improv is great I remember when you first came on the scene wow luv teresa
When I saw you put the front button up as the other side I laughed because I have made pillow covers like this! I found a gorgeous shirt at the thrift store & made one for a friend. The colors were so unique & they matched my friend’s decor! I was thrilled with your contrasting backs!
Ohhh how I wish I could hand quilt this beautifully.
Very inspiring❤
A very very talented man, creativity on fire! Nice to see you with your own channel Chris!
Love this method. Really enjoyed the tutorial especially as Chris is really generous with the information he passes on. Thank you.🙏
Hello! I love your style Chris. I am going to try this out! It looks really fun. :D
Chris, I love your style and technique in quilting. I have been saving various fabrics from clothing I have worn through the years. I believe my stash will look great if I follow your style of creations. Thank you for sharing!
Zoom meet-up is a welcome suggestion.
Amazing. I love the randomness. Discovered you from watching you on a "The Last Homely House" video.
Love this! Found you via Kate. Avid fan of you both now!
Ahhh yes Indeed, enjoying the awesome way of your thinking, outside of the box! 🇨🇦👍👍💖🦋🌈
What a great teacher and seems like a really nice person, as well. Would love to see more of him teaching.
Hello I justo met You with Kate at the last homely house, like your peoyect, I Will Definetively go for it,
A Zoom is a great idea!
Thank you Katy
Inspiring
Thank you Chris for your inspirational video tutorial. I am so excited to get started with recycled clothing material!
Fantastic Chris, I really need to be less ‘uptight’ when I’m in the planning process!!
Thank s for this video. It is so encouraging, as a self-taught quilter, to see quilts that I would feel confident in making. The one with the bicycle would be perfect for me as I cycle everywhere. The selvedge quilt made me laugh. This is a video I will definitely view again 😍
We're delighted you enjoyed it. Thank you for your kind comment, and we hope to see you this year at FoQ
Enjoy “random nature” and Chris’s inspiring words, “Never worry about perfect.”
It was hard to read what you need as it was on a yellow background. Could you repost in plain black text? It's going to be a great project. Thanks
Hi Anne, apologies for that, my years in teaching tries to steer me away from black on white for those who are dyslexic. But here is what is needed to join in: A total of 374 4 ½ " background fabric squares (approximately 5 ¼ metres in total) Fabric scraps or pieces in 5 different colours (each scrap 4" square or larger). You need around 5 metres in total, but as you don't know how your mood will be through the year, you may need to go shopping for extras (or raid the scraps of friends). 3" circle template (made from a glass dessert pot and some thin cardboard) Tin foil A notebook/calendar or diary to record your mood each day"
Great idea. Thank you 😊
Brilliant idea, thank you.
I like how he uses fabric that would otherwise get thrown into landfill. However, how disappointing and boring that he has to bring politics into quilting. It's divisive and unnecessary. Leave the politics to the politicians, and protect our "politics free" spaces in which we can all coexist in harmony while keeping our opinions to ourselves.
Thank you. Very helpful
Thank you for watching and commenting
Excellent video. Thank you for clarifying how to construct the cards.
Thank you. I'll pass your feedback along to Judi 😊
I love each of those cards. The video was great. Thank you😊
Judi really is incredible, isn't she! Thank you for watching and commenting
👍for Rita💕 the sunshine lights up your eyes Kate🤗, from eastern Washington State in the desert. Love your show‼️
I love that you have shown the quilt I made in honour of my granddaughter, Matilda’s Kisses ❤
Excellent presentation! Inspiration, humor, wisdom, and all delivered in a relatable manner. I would love to see this in person some day.
That Dawn to Dusk is stunning!!!! Those are my colors!
That showpiece gives me a dreamlike feeling. I am in love with that
Excellent!
