Kanazawa: The Best Day Trip Route to Take Now
I took a day trip from Tokyo to Kanazawa via Shinkansen. In Kanazawa, I visited the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, had lunch at Omicho Market, which has over 300 years of history, enjoyed gold leaf soft cream at Kenrokuen Garden, and checked out local food like Hanton Rice and the samurai residence ruins. Check it out as a model route for a day trip!

On this trip, after arriving at Yawatahama Port on the Orange Ferry, we visited a retro abandoned school building and ate Uwajima's specialty, tai-meshi. I think Saga is my 2nd or 3rd favorite prefecture I have visited so far, It is very beautiful, but does have ugly parts, mostly between Tosu and Saga City. while my favorite prefectures, Yamanashi and Nagano have more natural beauty and no ugly parts

Fukuoka is one of my favorite places to visit in Japan. I use it as a base for western Japan for day trips to Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Kagoshima, etc. since I don't like to change hotels for a 1 day trip. Great atmosphere, not a lot of tourists compared to places like Kyoto and Tokyo. Fukuoka also has my favorite yakitori restaurant Hachibei, a small chain of restaurants centered in Fukuoka. There's a branch in one of the walkway off Hakata station and a couple closer to Tenjin. One of their specialties is miso pork belly yakitori which is the best thing I've eaten eve. Grilled miso and pork belly, just a perfect combination. The Kanmon Tunnel at around 18:50 was the subject of a Document 72 Hours show on NHK. Somewhat surprising that is was so empty on your visit since apparently a lot of people hike back and forth for exercise, and it's also somewhat of a local tourist attraction. Surprisingly, I haven't made a visit to Dazaifu Tenmangu. It was on my list of things to do on my last trip, but there was very heavy rains so I changed my schedule to do indoor things. Definitely will visit my next trip.
it's a strawberry mochi ice bar. that and shoyu ice cream is personal fave.
You really know your stuff. I think the mitarashi soft cream from Ebisu Soy Sauce in Futsukaichi is the best.
