THIS IS THE FASTEST PADDLEBOARD!!? SIC MAUI RS 14x26 airglide review and long term test (7 month)
Hello my Friends,i am Michael and after paddling the SIC RS 14x26 airglide inflateable Paddleboard over the last 7 month, i feel pretty confident in giving you a goog idea of the real potential of this board.i will tell you all the good and the not so good,but spoiler alarm:there is not much i don´t love about this board.
it is almost the perfect standuppaddleboard.
inflateable sup boards are getting more competent and performing each year. the first one i have ever tested became the shape of a banana as soon as i stepped on it and felt really bad.and now on the other handthe the RS airglide is so good that you basically forget that you are riding an inflateable stand up paddle board!!!!!!
check out more in the videos and subscribe if you liked the video....its free!!
;)
thanks for watching and if you have any questions or comments please leave them below and i will get back to you!!
and don´t forget to follow me on instagram @SUP_MIK for more updates....

    Nice video. Is the 14 x 26 suitable for open ocean too or would the 12'6 x 29 be better in choppy conditions? Can't decide between the two.

    • @supmikpaddleboarding5871
      @supmikpaddleboarding5871 Рік тому

      Both are equally suitable for open ocean paddling! It depends on your skills level. Imo the 14x26 is fine,but if you are willing to trade I a little bit of speed you gain more stability by getting the 14x29 version...both are great options!!

      Hy Mari. In choppy water it takes a little bit of getting used to it! I don't know at what level you are,but for me it wasn't at problem at all even on the 26" wide model?but if you want a little extra stability you could always get the 28" model. Going into waves you have to step back a little to rise the nose of the board because it has basically no rocker. Overall I'm very happy with this board and I'm still using it today for everything,from flat water to rougher water paddles,even some light downwind riding is possible. The only thing that still annoyes me is the very small bungee system. But other then that it's a 10/10 for me. I hope I was a little bit helpful and just got me up if you have any other questions! Have fun🤙

    • @ck7977
      @ck7977 2 роки тому

      I have a 2021 RS Air Glide, and asked SIC the same question and got the following reply - Thanks for your email and RS purchase. Your board can be pumped to 20PSI. Unfortunately, there were a run of RS boards that had the wrong inflation information ring put on around the valve at the factory. Your RS board is made from our Carbon Fusion Lite construction. All CFL boards have a maximum pressure of 20PSI. That being said, if you are leaving your board out in a hot, sunny environment we recommend that you deflate 1-2PSI to allow for pressure increases from heat/air expansion, that will ensure you do not over inflate or stretch the material.

      Hy Martin, when on open water and rougher conditions i always prefer to have a stronger leash, just to be 100%safe...especially if you have to go in and out thrue some waves it could happen that a lighter leash like this one here could break...

    I have this board and it's great. As for it being a beginner board I would disagree slightly due to it's width. At 30" it's nothing like as stable as wider boards but it is faster than a wider board of equivalent length and shape. Having no tail kicker is OK as it means you need to learn awareness of the board rather than feeling for the kicker with your back foot. For the beginner it's certainly a great price but also your balance needs to be a bit better than when learning on a wider board.

    • @supmikpaddleboarding5871
      @supmikpaddleboarding5871 3 роки тому

      You are totally right, a 32" wide board will be more stable, for sure, but for a lighter rider, let's say up to 75 kg it will be fine for a moderately sporty person to get started in my opinion.for sure above 75kg I would go for a wider board like the beast for example. The missing tail kick may be just my personal thing, but it basically it is also my only complain of the board I'm currently riding, the Sic RS 14x26..but I love it anyway... You are right that you can figure out your position anyway, but you can he a bit faster in your step back turns if you can rely on a tail kick to precisely indicate you the position. Thank you so much for your feedback I really appreciate it!!!

    Thanks for the vid! I was originally looking at the 14x30 okeanos as a good all around board, but they're sold out everywhere. 14x26 RS is one of the only SIC boards available at the moment. I'm on the fence since I'm also looking for something that can carry a dog. Do you think that's possible on a RS? By the way, I'm your one hundredth subscriber :)

      I'm so sorry to reply just now, but it was as strange summer to say the least and I wasn't able to follow my channel. Have you already picked a board? If yes which one?? I will answer you question anyway. I wouldn't reccomand the 14x26 air glide to ride with your dog. For sure you should at least go for the 28 inch version, which I still don't think will be an ideal board for that. Sure a lot depends on your weight and skills, and not last it depends also from the size of the dog!any way have fun!! 🤙

      I see, they used the same name and the same font for the Hyper, what a bummer... You're 100%right, an inflatable board will never have the same performance as a hard board. That's why for surfing I only use hard boards. But for touring and cruising I love the flexibility of an inflatable. Right now riding a 14x26 inflatable race board and the advantage is that I don't have to deal with a 14 foot long board while transporting and storing of the board. Your boards do look super sick, and from what I understand you are based in Hawaii?? What a dream... Are your boards on the European market as well??
