      @scholarcy 3 місяці тому

      You can use your literature matrix to understand how existing articles have conducted their experiments studies. Understanding what they have achieved can help you to identify knowledge gaps which you can fill with your own research. Literature synthesis matrix' are also a fantastic resource for writing a literature review, as all the pertinent information will be in one document. I hope this helps!

    ok, so are we saying if a paper hasn't got a comparative analysis section its better to find one that has?

    • @scholarcy
      @scholarcy 3 місяці тому

      It is an indication that the author has not considered previous literature, but it is still worthwhile reviewing the other flashcard sections, as there can still be useful information about the study they conducted. You will just find less information about how this article relates to the surrounding literature.

      @@scholarcy My apoligies. I probably did not clearly state my suggestion/wish. I am very familiar with the approach you described, but it does not satisfy my question. When I export my flashcards to Excel, the resulting spreadsheet has 25 columns, from "filename" to "notes." My request was for a way to limit the columns to 5 or 6 specific column types. At this point, scholarcy does not allow this adjustment.

      @@nitsua803 Thank you for your reply! At the moment this cannot be changed, would a less information dense excel output benefit you? The current export is designed so that multiple research articles can be compared with each other easily.

    Great video! I've been using ChatGPT and find it an excellent tool for initial research and gathering background information. However, as you've pointed out, verifying the information provided is crucial, especially regarding academic research. Integrating Scholarcy as a plugin with ChatGPT could be a game-changer. It would allow users to automatically verify the content and references provided by the AI, ensuring the information aligns with the latest research findings. This would not only enhance the reliability of the information but also save users valuable time in cross-verifying the data. I am looking forward to seeing this integration in the future.
