Home rentals often come with HUGE cleaning fees that Hotels don't charge. Plus, with Hotels, you don't have to "Clean up" after your stay.. they do all that for you.

As a local here is where I would recommend. For starters Big Bear Pho recently opened up. They are really good with nice portion sizes. 2nd would be Oak Side. All of the pizza sucks in big bear but recently Red Barron has been pretty good. 4th would be Broadway Café and for Mexican I go to La Paws. You have to understand most restaurants in Big Bear are here for the tourists. Most are overpriced mediocre food. Hacienda is also really good for Mexican.

I lived on the east side of Lake Williams from 1980 to 86. Standing in my driveway one afternoon were 21 burros. Eventually a couple became friendly and began visiting me on a fairly regular bases. One summer night while standing my garage, the roll up doors open, one of the mommas with her new baby walked in and came right to me. I petted both for several minutes, then they casually walked away. An experience I’ll never forget.

Question , are there hotel rooms with wood burning fireplaces ? I enjoy wood burning fireplaces at Christmas .

Where is the cheapest spot to snowboard in big bear?

Hello I want to take a trip to Big Bear sometime the first half of next month (December) but I heard you'll need tire chains and all this stuff to take with me. I dont want to shell out 600-700 dollars for two sets of tire chains if I don't have to so please let me know what I need to be aware of before going out there. I really want to go there this will be my first time going out there during the Christamas season and I want to be ready and not caught off guard. Thank you please answer asap.

Here's a business idea: As an LA resident who drives to Big Bear pretty much every weekend during winder, I wish there was some kind of affordable lodging option for frequent visitors. I'm not trying to spend a mortgage payment every month to spend one night a week in Big Bear.

For pizza, Saucy Mamas is really good. So is Village Pizza. Himalayan is fantastic for Nepalese food. Grind n Grill has some of the best breakfast in town and Oakside for steaks, burgers and ambiance.
