omg its emily! what a cool looking con. The australian board game scene looks great
Very nice to see Emily outside of SUSD, lovely as always. Keep doing you, Emily!
Uprising is more balanced, more strategic, and the better game, even with base DI+ Ix expansion (havnt played immortality yet). Feels like a lot of people who prefer DI are primarily doing so because they have so much games with DI so that's what they're used to
@@NATOnova I think if I hadn't owned and played the base and two expansions as much, I likely would of enjoyed it more. It definitely felt like an alternative to that 'package', which felt strange considering it's not that old/hard to get. So while your points might be true, for me, it left a sour taste in my mouth. I am also unlikely to grab the new expansion. I will keep playing my copy however.
Thanks for the video!
The choice of background music is so odd. I feel like you want me to fall asleep :/
@@joaoduro6551 We use a range of royalty free music. The plan is not to get you to fall asleep, so I will take this one out of the rotation. Thanks for staying awake and getting through the video!
I disagree. It's not distracting or overpowering, so you can still hear the discussion.
Thank you so much for playing! My wife is an editor for a local (print!) newspaper, and it was lovely to hear about all of your different experiences in journalism. This made my day!
@@petermcpherson15 Thanks for making such a fun game.
So who won???
@@GraysWorld1 Liam just got ahead with a healthy dose of beginner's luck.
I just played this game recently, and I logged it on BGG. Now this video shows up in my feed. Hmmm.
Oh my God, blast from the past. Haven't seen Erin or Lauren for... 14 years?
Sorry Karl! Keeping you trapped was too funny to stop :D
Haha, the spies discovering each other was great. That was an exciting watch! Great play by the players
that was fun :) Let's do it again!
I love Telestrations, but I find it far more fun if the starting phrase is silly or evocative. It leads to a lot more misinterpretation and laughs. That review at the end is the best part.
Yeah, tracking the progress of the guesses and the drawings is great - which is why I think it works better at a slightly higher player count. However, there was only so much room in the studio for comic book artists!
the circle game looks fun
@@liamshiels8626 It is my favourite of the three.
TI rules!
Cool video
Candid shots of a tabletop event in Melbourne, and you managed to miss me for once! See you at the next event ;)
I love teaching and introducing new people to boardgames. A group of us from my old game group volunteered every year at LFG Sydney to run the "learn to play" area. Such an enjoyable time.
Definitely looking forward to PlayCon in July. I really hope it becomes a huge success. Sydney has always struggled with staging big gaming events. Don't forget that Cancon is coming-up at the end of January in Canberra. I'm pretty sure it is Australia's longest running gaming con. Tens of thousands of attendees, huge games library, tabletop wargames, tournaments, and loads of sales.
I am keen to attend CanCon in the future. At the time of filming, I don't think any of us had gone, hence missing it from the list.
Who is that handsome devil?
King of Tokyo was the first game I bought 6 years ago, it's a great game and lot's of great expansions.
Put me in coach!! I find this really fun!
giga game
Week after sorry!
Tabletop Avengers isn't real, we're all just figments of Cail's imagination.
Great interview and video - thank you for making it !
Awesome!
Thanks! Spellbook is fun and easy to learn.
Great interview! Excited to check this game out!
Sobek and talking about music, this is a win win episode!
Good chat! Stache is getting freaky Kdawg :P
I would love to see an update for the half year mark! And did you like Equinox in the end? Is there now more swaps available because you didn’t enjoy some of those games? So many questions!
I have yet to play Equinox. There have been a heap of games that have hit the trade pile (some already traded, which only grows the pile of shame). Here is the mid year update: ua-cam.com/video/fHCOT8MFcCs/v-deo.html

Would be very interested in attending!
Great video Liam. Subbed on UA-cam.
Thanks Rachel. Enjoy!
Be did a nice interview
Legends! Great vid :D
Interesting concept!
It's time to D-D-D-D-D-D-DUEL!!!
Looks sick!
Good job Melissa! I enjoyed it.
Thanks Chris! There’s another segment coming later this season where I talk about my more recent research.
Nicely done! A great video showcasing the wonderful team at Board Game BBQ! The Aussie tabletop scene is massive and getting bigger every day, and it's brilliant to see more and more Australian tabletop content creators.
Awesome stuff!
Fantastic Chess Library😄
Great work, Tom!
BOOOO THIS GUEST SUCKS (at commander)
What a fun interview! It's cool to see the game has traction internationally! Thanks for sharing :)
Thanks for sharing! I've been looking for "paperverse" solo games and this just gave me a few good ideas. 💙
