    I move here close to 5 years ago and the worst part is I moved to Jefferson Parish instead of New Orleans and both my locations have been miserable and it takes the bus 1 hour to get to downtown NOLA. If you have a car this place probably isn't so bad but without a car it isn't so happy - if you live far from NOLA.

  • @LisaS1
    @LisaS1 15 днів тому

    Good video! I moved to Jefferson Parish nearly 5 years ago. I have an opportunity to relocate now but I'm panicking with fear so I may just stay in this area. I've grown tired of the entire area. The downtown has always been a big disappointment to me. I'm elderly, have dizziness, and CFS so I must use a wheelchair and this city and area is not wheelchair friendly. I have a cat I'm worried about giving away so I might stay here in hopes of keeping my cat. The downtown is pretty and historical. I don't consider it exciting. There are only a few big buildings - no skyscrapers. But there's a big area to walk in so if you like to walk, you'll get very tired. If you like traveling other places you'll probably have to fly. There's small towns you can drive to but bigger cities are several hours away. About the weather, yeah it does get kind of humid and hot for 2-3 months but to me the weather is the best part of this place with the exception of a hurricane might come - it's been awhile since the last hurricane.

The Crime is a huge Negative, the NOPD is very dysfunctional and response times is horrible. Another Negative is if your looking to buy property, taxes and insurance is insane. The Insurance industry has left the state every time there is a major hurricane that hits any part of the state (Look How much coastline sits on the Gulf😳) Then there is the Hurricanes. need I say more. I like your channel & I think you should be in politics because your smart. I don’t know about living in New Orleans, because New Orleans has the for real kind of crime not no video game crime & not no music kind of crime but the real stuff, like what they saying in the song is actually what’s happening in real life when you eat some boil shrimps at the restaurant. And there’s not much law enforcement & or security guards why because the city really needs to hire some police & sheriffs officers & offer it as a training course in local trade schools so that high school kids can have that option as a career choice. New Orleans needs a move toward a positive direction by voting in a new mayor & new city council politician’s, basically a change of leadership can bring in much needed change of thinking so that the city can get up & going again. The poverty is high & poverty is also directly linked to all aspects of drug use & crime specifically homicides. A lot of other cities have passed legislation to tear down abandoned homes & abandoned commercial buildings so that it gives a new developer a vision to build something nice, would you build a nice business in the middle of delapitated homes & businesse nope but also because it’s an eye sore & it drives down property values, it has has rats & snakes in there & it’s also used as a drug activity house or “trap house”. And louisiana has the highest home insurance, highest car insurance & highest business insurance compared to other states near by, it’s like I can get the same food with desert next door at a cheaper price. Anyway y’all be blessed. 🙏😊
