Welcome my dear,
I am Asad Shaikh.
I am super IMMENSELY PASSONATE (If such a word exists !!) about Instrumentation and Control Engineering!!
As a son of a Passionate teacher, you could say I am an ENGINEER by profession BUT a TEACHER by HEART.
I really enjoy producing these Engineering videos "EVERY SATURDAY".
We are a community here; we share our knowledge our mistakes & learn from each other's expertise.
Instrumentation is one of the fastest growing branches of engineering
I&C has grown into several branches as follows
1 Instrument Maintenance Engg
2 Analyzer Engg
3 Automation Engg
4 ICS Engg
5 Functional Safety Engg
6 Commissioning Instrument Engg
7 QA/QC Instrument Engg
8 Reliability Instrument Engg
9 Vibration Instrument Engg
10 Project/Construction Instrument Engg
11 Fire & Gas Systems Engg
12 For new generation ( AI, Machine Learning, Digital Twins)
So, for this reason, our scope is the most complicated, massive and challenging job among other Engg Disciplines.

What is a Control Valve Positioner?
In industrial processes, control valves play a crucial role in regulating fluid flow, pressure, and temperature. However, to achieve precise control, a control valve positioner is often necessary. A positioner is a device that accurately controls the movement of a control valve, ensuring it reaches the desired position in response to a control signal.
Working Principle of Control Valve Positioners
The working principle of a control valve positioner is based on a feedback control loop. The positioner receives a control signal from a controller or PLC, which compares the desired valve position with the actual position. If there's a deviation, the positioner adjusts the valve's movement to match the desired position. This process occurs continuously, ensuring the valve remains at the correct position.
Types of Control Valve Positioners
There are two primary types of control valve positioners:
1. Pneumatic Positioners: Use compressed air to move the valve stem.
2. Electric Positioners: Use an electric motor to move the valve stem.
How Positioners Improve Valve Performance
Control valve positioners enhance valve performance in several ways:
1. Accurate Control: Positioners ensure the valve reaches the desired position, reducing errors and improving process control.
2. Increased Precision: Positioners can achieve precision of ±1% or better, depending on the application.
3. Faster Response Times: Positioners respond quickly to changes in the control signal, reducing process upsets.
Benefits of Using Control Valve Positioners
The benefits of using control valve positioners include:
1. Improved Process Control: Accurate control of valve movement ensures consistent process conditions.
2. Increased Efficiency: Reduced errors and faster response times lead to improved process efficiency.
3. Extended Valve Life: Positioners reduce wear and tear on valves, extending their lifespan

Hi sir its great video.. can you please make a video on Material Requisition.. review and prepation.. Vendor Document Review .. Techinal Bid Evaluation.. Much needed video 😊😊
If you use 4-20mA as a control signal, then two gauges are enough. The third gauge would have been used on older 3-15 psi control signal positioners (but can still be is used with 4-20mA control signal when you have double acting actuators)
No exact details provided about Radius and Pipe tappings. Tapping location and for which size of pipe to be used not mentioned
❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you for sharing very informative
Orifice,DCS,soft signal,wireless signal type
VERY GOOD
Unit of torque is Newton Meter, why in the diagram it is n/m3?
You are correct. Please refer Pinned Comment - It was a mistake from my side . Apology for the error 😊
What does the third gauge indicate?
See my comment - If you use 4-20mA as a control signal, then two gauges are enough. The third gauge would have been used on older 3-15 psi control signal positioners (but can still be is used with 4-20mA control signal when you have double acting actuators)

Thanks Asad.

Hi Asad .. thanks for this amazing video.
Hi asad ...big fan of your content and your dedication....I want one solution to have a predictive method to get positioner malfunction....as everytime we check some positioner when we get some problem I am looking for some dashboard think to get every positioner health on single DCs screen
Is this wire compatible with any digital input? An open circuit during normal times, and a short circuit after a heat event?
I think you explained your analogy with the car backwards/improperly when repeated later in the video. How is it that the Cv (or speed) would be high in maximal traffic conditions? You showed it this way at least a couple of times. You should fix it.
3:03 Correction: Please read Min Traffic as Max Traffic and Max Traffic as Min Traffic in the Graph (My Apology for the mistake)

hi
how to review a wake frequency calculation from vendor. What are the points to be checked?
Sir, If beta ratio of orifice is 0.8 then we should reject it or anything else we need to check. Please confirm sir... Thank you.. If possible please make a video what to do if beta ratio is high then 0.8 or less than 0.3. Thank you in advance sir
Nice video..Instrument index also cover Instrument type, then subtype ,line no,line size ,pipe class ,Tracing either heat tracing or steam tracing if there is valve then Valve size and its position i;e Fail open ,fail close TSO AFC etc Then Location of instrument ,then Signal Direction From DCS to Field ,then what type of system either DCS or ESD or FGS etc..and many more..
Could you plz update in detail, like main thing motor related details, like XL, XA, soft tag hardwire tag, details in DI/DO signal, In addition to that, which signal is Control indicating and recording, Indicating, indicating and recording, alarming, controlling, like we use to populate in SPI. You are requested to cover above topic. Thanx
Can you provide cause and effect Matix
make a video on Cause and effect diagram... which signals should be on top and down... is there any phelosphy for C&E
please add part 2 and also include index for motors
Useless document seriously ?
Thanx a lot for such a good knowledge sharing with us🙏
Yes we brief about index
Yes required
Thanks
Most welcome 😊Happy to know the efforts were helpful !!

Thank you sir 🤝
Asad sir , we understand you are busy in your work , but its humble request can you please make video like "skillset or Things " one should know to join as fresher in I&C offcampus , and what "skillset are required" to get from fresher to senior I&C engineer, I do understand it will really depends on which industry working on but can you please make a video on this as there is no one guiding for that noone , please kindly look into this aspect too, enjoyed all your videos and waiting for Amazing videos , it will give a headstart for freshers what to follow and also resolve most of the doubts.
Thank you.
