I maybe should have had the daggerboard down another 8 inches? ...but I was trying to get maximum speed out of the boat (least amount of drag) so not sure if I had it in the right position or not. I do know from watching some instructional videos that in the stronger gusts I should have released some main sheet tension to depower the sail and keep the boat flatter. While counterintuitive this might have made the boat a little faster. The bottom of the hull is pretty flat so it does get on plane at speed and side-slips more than a traditional hull. This is the same reason that any amount of heel tends to slow the boat as the edge of the boat starts to "dig" into the water.
Looks like a blast. Lots of lateral slip even with the centerboard down. Be careful out there.
