Originally started uploading as a means to archive playthroughs of games with my friends, and over time I branched out to other things like cars and reverse vending machines (RVMs).

Tomra T-62 TRISORT @ Rite Aid, Geneva NY
I'm still around, just been insanely busy.
Just when I thought both the 62 Trisorts as well as Rite Aid were all long gone, I discovered this location near my new job. A huge throwback, as a local Sam's Club in CT used to have a blue 62 Trisort that just about took anything with a deposit. I have not been able to use one of these machines in about a decade, so it was nice to experience using it once more.
We also witness the uncommon feature of requiring rejected containers to be removed prior to inserting the next container. Not every machine had this, but some T-32s had it enabled. It may have been default on the Trisorts, and possibly on the plastic/glass T-22s (which were actually a thing, I've only ever seen one).
No reject slot cover unfortunately, it seems to have been broken or removed, as was also the case on the aforementioned blue Trisort as well as the last T-32 I was able to use.
That big can at the end was made of steel, of course with Tx2s being what they are, the machine handled it with zero issues.
I have a mountain of files to consolidate, so regular uploads will resume once I've found the time to do so and once I also re-assess splitting the channel into different channels for different topics.

Upload schedules are not consistent here. I had some bottles which were only really accepted here, and decided to save all the regular glass bottles as well. The larger bottles made for a fun video, especially since CF-1500s are becoming very rare. The sorter on this machine is broken, only one bin will fill before the machine stops. I'm unsure if it's supposed to sort by color; one of the glas...

This video was taken right after I got the other plastic machine to take the bottles that the first machine was refusing to. These machines are horribly picky with small 8oz cans and slim 12oz cans which irrationally annoys me and shows that Envipco has lost the plot. I'm almost certain this is an unintended consequence of strict configs not allowing the machine to take crushed cans. CT law sta...

Boredom, the bottle bill expansion, wanting to deposit large juice bottles into these machines, and the fact that this store will accept a handful of brands that no other place will touch led me to one of the few places left in CT with "functional" CF-1500s. Normally I would have only negative things to say about these machines, but to my surprise they worked fairly well this time around. I sti...

I have a very strong disliking towards drink brands made by social media influencers. Me being old and bitter aside, There's an interesting mix of containers returned in this video. I had brought 2 steel cans in the hopes that either the machine would take them, or display the "not aluminum" message seen in the last Putnam video. Unfortunately this was not the case, I think it has to recognize ...

Old footage I forgot to upload from January 2023. The compactor had something stuck in it at the time and didn't seem to be shredding as quickly as it should've for the larger bottles. This was during the Bang Energy bankruptcy, so it was a genuine surprise finding a machine that still took Bang products; all newer Tomra machines no longer took them. I have a feeling that this machine is offlin...

On a gloomy day, I found myself in the town of Putnam, at a small local supermarket lost in time. As it turns out, they are one of the few places in CT with a Tx2-series RVM. It's also in unusually good shape and was a real treat to use - it was the fastest and smoothest Tx2 I've used in probably a decade and a half. This store is also very good about what they will accept, including all of the...

Just to keep you lot on your toes. Ironically, these machines might be more reliable than Ultra48s due to the lack of belt elevators and moving parts. As per a new law requiring stores of a certain size and the recent CT bottle bill expansion, Walgreens installed these. It looks like they've created and dialed in a routine for machine training and maintenance, so this location is a viable alter...

Lots of strong language and questionable drawings are in this one, THIS IS NOT FOR KIDS. Bahz recorded for me since the cursed MSI wouldn't connect to the internet, and somewhere along the lines I was accidentally muted so there is less audio than usual. Still a blast regardless! Old footage from February, still getting caught up.

This one's also not for the kiddies, we draw and say some heinous things in these videos. It's like if a group of friends went out to a bar on Friday night, but with less background noise. Somewhere along the lines I got muted by Bahz, who was recording for me. No audio inputs from me unfortunately. This serves as this year's Day Of Loneliness celebration.

And apparently Walmart too, but they might not accept everything yet. Shoutout to Alex for telling me about this, in his words "it was like discovering plutonium." In the case of Tops Market, all Pur Aqua and Summit products are accepted at locations using Ultra48s. Meh. Some flavors of Rockstar and Celsius energy drinks are non-carbonated and supposedly not eligible for a deposit in NY (nor marked as such), yet they are widely accepted for a deposit. RIT's T-63 even accepts them despite being strictly limited to products that Tomra officially handles. We're not sure if this is a mistake on the beverage company's part. In Wegmans we trust. Bang has survived the lawsuits and bankruptcy, and supposedly they are doing a rework on their deposit initiation. There is a chance, albeit a small one, that more stores may accept the 3oz shots assuming they continue the product line. I would like to see Envipco start accepting Bang products. Note, this is purely speculation, nothing is confirmed yet. This is old footage ...

I wish I'd known the brand names of the recyclable stuff if they take it or not.
Don’t they also have 2 T-9’s? Iirc you couldn’t order an R1 without also getting a T-9.
No T-9s here. I think both could be ordered separately.
Muss in New York jetzt auch der Deckel dran bleiben oder was?
Nein
I wish they had machines like that In Ireland 🇮🇪
Thry do, but probably not T-9’a.
Dangit! I saw a T-70 Dual and a T-70 single today and forgot all about this!
What would be hilarious is if one managed to make the machine think the door was down when it wasn’t, and then just shoveling in returnables until you ran out or the R1 borked itself 😂😂😂 EDIT: You don’t even have to mess with the machine! Dump in a bunch, wait until it unlocks, then keep on dumpin!
I’m surprised it managed to eat some of those returnables, a few of the bottles were absolute tacos.
Surprised by how easily it took the last can
First one of these I’ve ever seen a video of! Came across one of these many years ago at some liquor store a few hours away from my city. Also important to note that RVMs are very rare where I’m from. It was installed outside (through the wall), had a coloured cover, and very strangely, the new TOMRA logo on the lower cover (I assume it was refurbished to some degree). This was one of 2 locations I’ve seen Tx2s in real life, RIP to the machines in my local Safeway, also with coloured covers, that were ripped out when the store changed to a different banner. Now all I’ve got are T9s at a local redemption centre, which while are very fast, don’t have the same charm nor do they crush the containers or anything interesting.
For a period of time, replacement decals for Tx2s had a newer logo. That at least implies they cared enough to have the machine serviced regularly at that liquor store...
What a find! That would have to be one of the rarest Tx2 machines around, especially being a Trisort Tx2. Would love to see the variant with the old coloured covers and blue housing but those are probably near extinction.
The only thing more rare is a T-22 plastic/glass combi, I've only seen one ever and it was through an image. I have seen a coloured Trisort once, but I am unsure if it's still around and the location is pretty far from where I am currently.
This is fun...
If i was going to buy an RVM, it would be one of these or an M1, because they don’t need 3-phase power, just 230V @ 50Hz.
I’ve never run a T-70 before. It would be interesting to see the wear on that compactor’s motors - they are probably starting to get bearing failures and other stuff.
Battle of the Bang. It’s hilarious when RVM’s sneeze. 😂
Man thos thing is old! We don’t have deposits on glass in Norway, so I’ve never run one of these.
Around here i can hit up a Tomra T-710 and a Tomra T-63HCp. There’s probably also a few other Tomras about. Awesome machines, very fun to rin and they NEVER break (they do fill up but that’s an easy fix) If i was going to buy an RVM of my own, i’d buy the Tomra H30 for 2 main reasons. The first is, it handles 40 containers per minute. But the second reason is even better - it only takes 230V AC at 50Hz, no faffing around with 400V 3-phase power!
I call these Tomra R1’s “fireboxes” because of how you load them. It’s like shoveling coal into a steam locomotive 🚂 😂
Does the plastic machine get complicated?
Does this machine get complicated?
ooh I love glass
That machine is dull 'cause it won't take the brand names. But I hope it takes it.
They now have them at CVS, Walgreens, Dollar General and other small stores down there too??? Not just the grocery stores or the big box stores I know the bill was expanded and the fee was boosted as of earlier this year from 5-10 cents but I didn't think these small places would now have redemption centers at all. WOW. What a change.
From what I heard and understood stores of a certain size are required to have 2 machines now. Aldi stores now have 2 machines instead of just 1. Trader Joe's has machines now too. It is quite the change, I'm still getting used to it.
Eine Super Neuigkeit, ich freue mich sehr darüber. Endlich nicht mehr wie blöd einzeln reinstecken. Einfach nur toll.❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊🎉🎉🎉
In New York we don't have deposits on juice or ice tea bottles just soda, water & beer
I wonder who copied whose design; Were Tomra TX2 an Envipco CF-1500 rip-off or vice versa?
I think the Tx2s were first
@@stockholm2375 All right. Thanks! :)
@@antonnilsson6117 I got some more information, the Tx2s were from 1992, the CF-1500s were from 1993.
@@stockholm2375 Okay! Thanks for the info! :) I wonder why Tomra ditched their double doors. I was about 5 years old when I remember using one of those the last time, and I allways found those scary. Have you ever used one of those, and in that case, how did the doors differ from the Envipco?
@@antonnilsson6117 I've used one, but it was well over a decade ago and my memory is hazy. It felt a lot more solid and sturdy compared to Envipco's machines. I was told they had issues with smaller soda bottles getting caught between the rollers and doors, and they were certainly not meant for thin water bottles.
what is your problem with Buffalo?
The portion that the center is in is a bit rough. In retrospect the way I worded the description was rude...
@@stockholm2375 lol you think that is a rough part of Buffalo? It is one of the safest places to be during the day. There is way worse sections of the city.

Good to know. I do wonder what the RVM scene will be like in the UK.
i remember when i went to visit new london, ct people were denied from entering the bottle return place bc they had rhode island plates lol
This machine is outdated as well as the conveying system, Envipco has a new line of machines but unfortunately they are not being installed in the US. You can find test machines in a few places though.
That is good to know, thanks for sharing.
Always look forward to your RVM videos. Great as always. Frustrating how many attempts it takes to get some of the containers to go through, especially knowing any Tomra machine (even one with an attitude) would’ve likely taken them first try. The juice bottles being crushed never gets old.
I look forward to the giant containers going through! 😂
I saved all of my Tropicana bottles for the sake of this video. I suppose I should try a Motts apple juice bottle...
I've used the glass machine at my local CVS and the belt stops sooner than the cans/plastic machine so that was the glass bottle doesn't just fall out.
I wonder if it depends on the shape of specific bottles, I tried putting in a Smirnoff Ice bottle which it didn't take and it looked like it could've fallen out. Unless maybe there was something wrong with this machine.
@@stockholm2375 I think maybe because you put it in top end first. For glass I usually put it in bottom end first. Because I know some T-53s were picky about that.
Hey quick question did you put a tuner in the squarebody if so what was the process behind it cause I know most people end up narrowing down to as little wiring as possible just curious doing my research into everything before I bite the bullet and buy everything for the swap
This is not my truck unfortunately and I have not seen it again since, though in my opinion it would make sense to narrow down the wiring. Best of luck with your project!
Reduce your wiring to stand alone essentials or buy a standalone harness from Diesel Conversion Specialists. Then use a quad adrenaline tuner, it doesn’t use OBDII inputs, it plugs in directly to the stand alone ECM harness only. Hope this helps. I’m a week away from driving my swapped square
Amazing to see a Tx2 still operating in 2023! Glad that the people in charge of maintenance are keeping it running and giving it the cleaning it needs. The Tx2 series can really stand the test of time if maintained properly and kept clean.
Was this video recorded before the new CTRV update?
It was recorded a few days after the update, but also before the machines were updated.
I love doing my cans and bottles on those machines
🗑♻🏆🪙
It’s funny seeing how many drinks go through as here in MA only soda and beer and seltzer goes through
I'm still getting used to it myself. It's especially weird being able to deposit stuff like Tropicana orange juice and other larger juice bottles.
I wish this was in Redmond Wa
Where is that machine? (Sorry if my english is not good, im dutch)
Your English is fine, do not worry. It is located in a corner of Putnam Supermarket in the town of Putnam, Connecticut, which is in the northeastern USA. I assume you're in the Netherlands? I believe they have a deposit system there and use similar albeit newer machines.
Thank you
Yes but we have tomra t90s, t70s and t9s.
@@DS-lh8xd I remember Norway and Sweden had these older machines, but I do not think other countries in Europe had them. I have seen older T-600s and Unos, but not these Tx2-series machines. I only now realized that I misunderstood your comment, my apologies.
@@stockholm2375I’ve seen a bajillion oldies here. Run a T-710 and a T-63HCp a lot. Seen people run everything from T-600’s and T-610’s to T-820’s and even T-705’s. Anything in the T-83 series or T-53 series is pretty rare. I know Jamestube runs a lot of T-83HCp’s, but here in Norway I’ve not seen em.
Surprised that great big one didn't jam it.
I managed to plug up a different machine with a Motts apple juice bottle, but that was due to the shredder being worn out and it couldn't grab onto it.
I do that all the time too I love your channel
