Hello! Why are the SS Tilawa bars between $80-90K USD for the same type of weight, story, and circumstances?
I assume they are asking more for the Tilawa bars because it's been in the news more recently and they are trying to take advantage of the hype...
@@MidwestGoldSilverOk. How many SS GAIRSOPPA bars are there in circulation? Were there any face plates? Are you in contact with the source of the Tilawa bars? What did you think of the LPM commemorative collection value?
A nine minute video just to say to use a magnet! Come on man give us more ways
There's never been a counterfeit goldback!
I purchased a stack of 1oz silver bars and recently noticed one said .999 fine clad is that a problem thanks in advance.
@devvynp2195 that's most likely going to be plated with .999 fine silver. I'd take it back to wherever you purchased it and see if they would exchange it. Thanks for watching!
@@MidwestGoldSilver thanks for the fast response
That was wild getting the side perspective and seeing how thick it is!
I collect. 999 silver for years. I am now just starting to collect coins and learning. This video was helpful. How to tell if coins been cleared
Thanks for posting
WARNING: I’m in my 60’s and have shipped all kinds of things via USPS. They have never lost a package I had delivered or was delivered to me. A few months ago I sent my first coins to be delivered to PCGS for grading and for the first time I used REGISTERED MAIL VIA USPS. Bear in mind that registered mail is one of the ‘most secure’ forms of mailing, according to USPS. It is tracked, signed for at every step (even when handing over to a new carrier), locked up in a special storage area at each step, etc. Guess what? Stolen or lost within USPS…yep. That’s only half the problem. I had the package insured for what I thought the value of each coin was. Guess what? The USPS would not honor the insured value. They would not honor ANY value and would not even refund my cost for insurance!! Why , you ask? Well, during the claims process and also during the appeals process they claimed I could not provide PROOF of value! I explained I was sending them IN to PCGS for PROOF of value. They said “SORRY!” 🤷♂️
Wow, what a nightmare! I will definitely be shipping with UPS or FedEx. Thanks for the warning
Thank you so much I just started to buy silver. And I have some that are a little bit over weight so I'm going to be checking them out.
Thanks for watching, I'm glad it was helpful!
Be aware that copper has the same effect with magnets, ie; it could be copper , plated with a silvery substance.....
You have to be really careful, and have your local coin shop use a PMV tester (unless you have one). German silver will easily pass the magnet test, AND the ice cube test, but it is not even 5 or 10% silver.
I Sigma test everything but the magnet is a good place to start if you don't have a PMV and need to make a quick decision. Thanks for watching!
I check by using a magnet.. I’ve sent many back and received my money back. Nonetheless, when I weigh the coin it’s about 25grams. 2023 American Silver Eagles? Any suggestions? Meaning are they all fake? Regardless if they are not attracted to a magnet?
Silver Eagles should weigh 31.1g so if you have one that only weighs 25 it's not genuine regardless of if it sticks to a magnet or not.
@@MidwestGoldSilver Well that sucks. But I’m glad I know. Also I am up grading my scale.. to make sure…
Chinese AliExpress seller's are having massive income selling these fake silver replicas onlin today and some eBay seller's too... You thought they only faked old silver quarters or silver American Eagles? Oh pal, they are faking everything for good profit and flooding the market with this..
You wasted 7 min of a 9 min video to get to the point 😮
nice coin. hope to see more videos about shop and all the cool stuff
More to come! Thanks for watching!
Oh I hope I never got any of those...seriously faking these is about as stupid as faking $5 bills...
oh geez, I mainly buy junk silver dimes to avoid fakes. thanks China.
Ruh roh. I see these bars say “.999” whereas mine says “999+” 🫤
81s are fantastic
1900 looks polished
good video!
Thanks for watching!
Hi I found one of the east Indian company coin with my metal detector next to binny house in ecclesmachan Scotland the house was owned by a naval captain in 1800s he is buried in mausoleum a few 100 yard from the big house , a thought is was kids play money as on one side is blank but the side with the sand script is clear and with it saying cash a thought it was kid play money well now av watched your post it all makes sense now thankyou. Love kindness truth freedom wisdom peace from bony Scotland
That's awesome! Congratulations on your find... oh, the stories that coin could tell! I'm glad to hear my little video was helpful with identifying your find. Thanks for watching!
Promo SM 😈
Hate to be bearer of bad news but both of your ungraded morgan are cleaned and will come back as details coins if submitted to a reputable grading company.
7 minutes without a close up. No thanks.
Good point. I'm still figuring out the camera work. Thanks for watching!
If u find a $1000 coin selling for $20,dont buy 10..customer got what they deserved
How do you fake a 5 dollar coin and make money?
I would assume you would have to make a whole bunch of them
Proof that P.T. Barnum was right!
Another thing to look for when dealing with PCGS' current "sonic" label is the RFID chip that's embedded between the labels. If you hold up a genuine slab to the light, you'll see the actual outline of the RFID chip. No fake that's trying to mimic that current gen holder (such as these here) will have that chip. (not yet anyway)
Great point. Thanks for watching!
The “United states of America”looks off to me.
The first thing is the word Morgan on label they do not put Morgan on label unless it’s another silver dollar that year and Morgan was the only silver dollar in 1881 there was no other
Excellent point.
The slab should also have “PCGS” in the plastic the lower right corner, I believe.
So, what are these fakes made of? Can you saw one in half and show us?
It's most likely a mixture of copper and nickel
Once they perfect the labels with color and font then I feel it’ll be a way bigger problem than it already is , great video too!
Honestly, the coins were pretty bad too. Another good reason to buy the coin, not the slab.
@@MidwestGoldSilver absolutely I’ve seen some ugly coins grading 6-7 and some really under graded coins that should have gotten a higher grade with more attractive luster and eye appeal than others?
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching!
We used to laugh at these fakes. Give it some more time, and we won't be able to tell the difference!
These were pretty poor fakes but they still trick unsuspecting people online... buyer beware! Buy from a reputable coin dealer and you'll do just fine 😉
Had a pair of these come into our shop in Charlotte a few months back.
Scammers everywhere! Thanks for watching!
So question us what do you do with them now. They are not your property but I believe you are supposed to call your local FBI and they will confiscate as it is illegal to possess counterfeit coins unless copy or replica stamp.
Wow !!
I've seen a lot of "silver " coins from Chinese sellers on eBay. Sad thing is that many of them have bidders who don't know better. Many of these sellers are even faking common date Mercury dimes!
Send In The Secret Service 🐕🦺🐾🐕🦺
Thanks for the video.I found it interesting that the "good" quarter weighed substantially under specifications, i.e. 9 grams or so! More than could reasonably be accounted for given the amount of circulation wear it was showing. Perhaps you have two bogus quarters there, and while one may have been struck in silver, it also wasn't correct weight wise, that's according to your own diagnostics/measurements. Underweight but correct metal counterfeits are something I have also seen on several occasions, still a way to turn a profit, especially when dealing in volume.
Dang.
I bought some just to have counterfeit examples. Some of them, all it takes is a magnet.
I usually start with a magnet and it will catch about half of the fakes!
All ten for "a little under two hundred dollars"? 😆
You would think that alone would be a "run, don't walk" signal to your brain. The buyer must not have been listening when as a kid he was told repeatedly "if something seems too good to be true, it probably isn't".
Hope that y'all would expose the fraudulent dealer on those.
The customer said he didn't remember the website... just buy from.a reputable dealer and you'll be fine.
The Chinese get away with these fakes because Democrats wet themselves over communist authoritarians.
label printed morgan
There are all kinds of problems with these lol..
I've been buying Morgans again lately. I shun ebay. Thanks for this! Just checked the map & you're only 3 hrs from me. Missouri here too!
I have hundreds of Morgans and Peace dollars... stop by when you're in the area sometime and say hi! I can also ship to you if there's something you're looking for. Thanks for watching!
@@MidwestGoldSilver I'll give you a shout on my next hunt, Thanks
After seeing this video, I'm glad I quit collecting coins decades ago. Had I seen one of these coins for sale at a show at a reasonable price, I probably would have bought it. A casual collector can't be expected to be knowledgeable about all the fine details of all the different kinds of slabs out there. Does a buyer need to carry around a Sigma and other diagnostic tools to a show just to keep from getting scammed? Great educational video. Thanks!
There are a lot of fakes out there, but you won't find them at reputable dealers and shows... it's all online sellers.
