This is not a shooter fail. This is a manufacturer flaw. Try google people. This was a factory flaw that many people experienced. Even shooters with over 40 years competition experience. The early production S&W X frames were produced with too light of a hammer spring and trigger. It would actually recock itself and fire a second round. Ive personally witnessed 2 different 500's both S&W early (03-06) production do this exact thing. One was in the hands of a 30+ years competitve shooter. They were both immediately sent back to S&W to be repaired.
