To clarify your question about fusion harmony: its primary characteristic is moving away from the traditional idea of tension and resolution, such as a V7 resolving to the I chord. A great example of this can be seen in Herbie Hancock's Cantaloupe Island, where the harmony consists of Fm7 - Db7 - Dm7.

it's non-functional harmony... just whatever sounds good lol

It's in C# minor or at most E major. :) Not A anything. If you can construct believable melody lines centered on A over this, I'd like to hear a few examples. During the Am9 chord it does a temporary modal interchange to E minor.
