Переглядів 3521 день тому
Figuring out the ideal number of naps per day for a 4 month old can often be challenging for parents. In fact, the entire 4 to 5 month window is a particularly unique period of time when it comes to naps schedules. Prior to 4 months, babies don’t have a mature circadian rhythm, which means they aren’t generally ready for a set nap schedule. Add in the sleep interruptions that the four month sle...

151. Daycare Won't Cap or Drop My Child's Nap - Help!
how do you just drop one full feeding? just dont feed them when they're hungry and crying? how do you even do that
There are a few different ways to do it depending on your child's age, how often they feed at night, etc. For example, one approach is to push that feeding out an hour from the typical time so you're gradually helping their adjust body to go longer between feedings during the night. That being said, you don't "need" to drop a night feeding if that doesn't feel right for you and your baby right now.
I agree! I am reducing the number of night feedings now and we started we the last feeding before waking up (this typical, shortly before waking up). She already loves to cuddle and to hug and understands a lot. So first time she cried a couple of minutes and then hugged me and let me calm her. The second day she cried one minute, then we cuddled. The next day she barely cried. Now after one week she listenes to me, when she wakes up and I just offer her cuddles. And that is it! So totally agree :)
So glad it's going well!
Thank you❤
you're welcome :)
Your videos are fantastic! I noticed some challenges with views and ranking, and I have a few tips that could really help. May I share them with you?"
My problem is not more night wakings, there's just one night waking: at 10pm, and then he doesn't sleep until 6am, no matter what we do. Are there any guidelines what to do then? Help We let him sleep longer during the day up to 3pm, then I try to limit naps to max 1,5h, and last nap ending at 5pm latest. Going to bed between 7 and 8. Either by breastfeeding or by swaying. When the last nap ended after 6pm we had problem getting him to sleep at all until 4-6 am.
oh boy! I'm exhausted for you. It sounds like he has some day/night confusion. I'd need more details to give solid advice and it also depends on how many weeks old he is, but start by capping any naps at 2 hours and wake him to start his day by 8am even if it was a terrible night. And it's definitely time to start practicing putting him down drowsy but awake.. I like to start with the first nap of the day. Happy to connect for a 30 minute consult to talk through some other steps you can take. Hang in there! sleepandwellnesscoach.com/packages/
I found a solution for a two year old that has been unzipping hers, in my daycare. I wasn't giving the sleep sac up, here because she settles very qiuckly as apposed to jumping and playing at nap time. My solution is duck tape the top and bottom zipper. I also have a three year old that sleeps in a unicorn sleeping bag. I bought it for her and made it sound really fun to sleeping her unicorn, before she was having problems settleing. I wish they all had these.
How do you recover from a failed attempt, after which they’ve missed their wake window and are crabby? You just keep trying this over and over?
During those first few months, you may need to rock them to sleep if you missed the window. Then you can try again with a shorter wake window for the next nap or the next day.
Any update from your listener Jenna? I’m dealing with almost the exact situation with my almost 8 year old
I hope this episode was helpful! Always happy to connect for a consultation to chat through your child's specific situation.

what if you have a kid that's diabetic
definitely consult with your child's doctor
Excellent concept
Excellent video! I really can use all of your suggestions. Especially when you mentioned the coffee pods I immediately agreed with you and thought what am I doing using those boiled pods. I should know better but I was being lazy. I will pull my French press out of my cabinet and also look for a stainless steel electric water pot. I look forward to seeing your other videos. You have a new subscriber here. Keep up the great work. ☺️
I'm so glad you found it helpful! French pressed coffee really does taste better too :)

This was informative! Thank you for sharing.
You're welcome! Glad you found it helpful!
Do you have recs specifically for toddler sleep? (who have always been in a crib and now is on mats)
I generally think toddlers do amazingly well at daycares when they transition to the cots/mats. But I would stick with the crib at home! Is the mat not going well at daycare?
Have you ever tried any intermittent fasting ?
Yes! I did intermittent fasting for about 6 months. I didn't find it hard to do and I generally felt pretty good, but my bloodwork got worse. I think it put my body under too much stress and while I do believe intermittent fasting is really good for some folks, my bloodwork is better and I feel my best when I eat 3 meals each day.
Sorry to ask, are you monitored for nodules?
Yes! I get checked every 6 months.
excellent done~see you later.📢
