I miss these old scheme on these Fresno Area Express bus, those are my childhood scheme on these buses when we lived in Fresno but today, we live in Chandler Arizona.

FAX was so in love with the Voith transmission. that was my Child hood scheme they used on the bus when I lived in Fresno, this bus is beautiful with the original scheme. Today, we live in Arizona.

What a beauty! You should totally bring back your channel if you can. I'm sure FFD still has this unit as it has not been listed on auction. Recently, we did a yard sweep of every department in the city. They also took a fax bus to the auction lot Govplanet has up in Yermo. No idea this even existed to be honest!

The bus sounds ugly you should probably listen to one of the hybrids from Via metropolitan transit their the best.

They should put colored bulbs on all transit buses they got different colors green orange red blue pink yellow they should make em match up with the interior of the buses

The Bus Is Still At The Garage As Of Today

2006 Orion VII OG bus number 6291 was a pretty good bus in addition to other bus (6290)! I have been on this bus for 3 years in a row since the start of service in Visalia to go to Fresno! There's also Free Wi-Fi and USB ports for charging! These buses was transferred from Merced to Visalia. These buses were in excellent condition and would run a lot on freeways each day! However, if I compare 6291 with 6290 in terms of speed, I would say 6291 is slightly faster by a mile or couple of minutes than 6290 if testing on the freeway. Unfortunately, this bus along with other bus (6290) both retired on October 2019. I missed those 35 foot OG buses! The two V-LINE buses later became 40 foot 2019 Gillig BRT Plus CNG (low floor). They look wonderful, especially with the paint scheme which looks best on the freeway and on the roads

@Fax Bus Channel Just saw a Gillig BRT Plus in standard FAX livery (dark blue and white, no Q Or FAX 15 branding) running on Route 1.

I heard this bus was repowered and still in service this very day.

The first time I rode these I was sort of scared and excited at the same time. I didn't understand the specs quite enough also. (I rode on 22 just now).

I'm a Gillig fan because the company is the last US owned and operated builder of transit and suburban buses. That said, I fail to understand what the BRT and BRT Plus designs bring to the table that the regular design doesn't. If there's and extra cost involved, I be hard-pressed to approve it.

Gillig is the ONLY US owned and operated bus manufacturer. I wish more transit authorities would use Gilligs versus the foreign design stuff many of them use today.

Man, these buses really Rev high! I don't think I've heard Visalia's BRT's sound like that.

I used to live out there in Fresno California and I went on The Fax Bus with my Class But In 2003 I moved here to Florida because I missed the Rain and thunderstorms

Hey now that I'm seeing this video again, do you happen to know what happened to 0511 and 0512? They were both GE40LF models. According to the CPTDB wiki, they retired in 2006 due to a battery malfunction. However, I believe this to be false because according to a google maps satellite of the fax offices from around 2014-2016, 0511 and 0512 are still there. What happened?

By the looks of the sound, this bus has the Cummins Westport ISL-G engine. It originally had the Detroit Diesel Series 50-G engine.

L.A. Metro's Contractor Still Operates Nearly 70 Orion Low Floor Busses they Recieved in Early 2001, & are a Pain in the Ass! & Suburban Chicago's Pace System Still has its Orion Low Floors Still Running in their Fleet!

Fax bus channel, I know that most of the 03's were retired in late 2017, but The original engines were the Cummins Westport ISL-G, and 19 of them (according to the CPTDB Wiki) were repowered w/ the Detroit Diesel Series 50G. I still can't believe that Fresno is the only area I know with Hybrid buses in the city's fleet in the central valley. This truly makes the buses that rare.
