Barf - Lake District Walks
Переглядів 593 місяці тому
Join us for a walk up to Barf. Our route was via the Bishop of Barf, one of Wainwright's very "off-piste" routes up steep scree. There isn't a path on the OS maps, so this is a trust-in-Wainwright walk. Enjoy!
Dow Crag - Lake District Walks
Переглядів 1054 місяці тому
Join us for a walk up Dow Crag. We walk from Little Arrow up the southern ridge before returning via Goat Hause and Goat's water. Along the way we visit Blind Tarn and the "other" big cave in Blind Tarn quarries - as described by Mr. Wainwright...
Black Fell - Lake District Walks

Join us for one of Wainwright's smaller fells, but none-the-less spectacular for it. Our walk starts out in Hawkshead and on the return route a stop in the very lovely Drunken Duck pub.

Join us for a circular walk from Bideford, taking us along the South West Coast Path all the way to Westward Ho! before a quick cross inland back to Bideford. These are honestly some of the loveliest and expansive sandy beaches we've seen so far in Devon.

Join us on another walk in beautiful Dartmoor. This time we are walking over the Willsworthy Firing Range (on a non firing day of course) on a windy February day. We manage to take in 4 different tor-tops, as always each one unique.
Barnstaple to Braunton - South West Coast Path walks

We're back walking the SWCP but this time in the North of Devon. We've stepped away from our familiar South Devon and stepped into what we thought was the rockier North Devon coast. Join us for our first, fairly flat walk, from Barnstaple to Braunton along the south west coast path....

Maybe if you went barefoot and use your feet to put pressure on the tree and sustain some of your weight. Also try using the shukos in a horizontal fashion versus a vertical fashion while hugging the tree with your arms, maybe it could work… I think lol. Go about it kinda like the Huaorani tribe from the amazons when they climb trees.

From one English voice to another..... Yosemite Valley undoubtedly is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. I hike there usually in June, when the snowmelt still produces the most incredible waterfalls and the Merced runs through in its pristine glory. Fascinating however to view it from a different perspective -offering other but equally joyous scenes. Thank you.

I believe it did in August and they had to shut the park down, but when we were there a couple of weeks back in November, it was definitely very dry and desert looking again. Some roads were still shut.

I really enjoyed your video. You had such a beautiful day for the walk, giving crystal clear views of the Fells. Winter days are often the best for walking. It helps that you name the surrounding fells, with the aid of your trusty stick to point them out. Are you a teacher? 😊

Thanks for the video, great little watch. Lovely walk up that way. I’ve attempted these 2 on 2 separate occasions and had to abort mission due to either time or not being able to see my hand, never mind the path, in front of my face 😂. On my next attempt I’ll defiantly be taking this route up, thanks again….I can see that badger like 😂. Stay blessed.

A long walk but a glorious one in brilliant weather. Two small Fells I love and Place Fell is once of my favourite Fells tops but leave that for another day. One of Mrs Metalmans favourite days out, the ferry to Howtown and walk back to Glenridding, although, we do it around the shore of Ullswater. Real nice hike, cheers Alan

I did the full Greenburn Round a couple of weeks ago with a friend and can really recommend it. We started with Steel Fell and then did Calf Crag, Gibson's Knott and ended on Helm Crag, where my friend put me to shame and climbed the Howitzer, but then again, she only has dainty little feet, not size 11 flippers like me. Loved the snowy fells tops, something that I have really missed this Winter, cheers Alan

Hey Alan, thanks for all your comments. I saw your Greenburn round walk. Excellent video BTW. Well done on someone getting on top of the Howitzer. As you said, Mr Wainwright never managed it. I still may give it a go, but definitely not in snowy conditions. Maybe see you on the fells.

The lion and the lamb is really clear but the best view is looking up at them from the A591 we think. We will look forward to checking out some more of your videos, take care, Shell and Pete

Must admit, 'pointy bit in the sun' looked very nice, what a brilliant day for a hike, all I got when I went up to The Old Man was mist and winds. Nice start to the walk and it looked a great place to take a hike in the sa.....what every you called it lol. The path looked real nice to follow, allowing you to take in those amazing views. I hate cows and am always very wary of them and would rather turn around, rather than walk though a herd of them. Loved the wild flowers in the meadow and the walk up to the lakes was well worth it, amazing views, especially with the snow covered mountain tops in the background, cheers Alan.
