Thanks for doing the tag! A tip for tagging people - when you paste someone's channel name in it doesn't send them a notification, you have to manually type @ and then type in their channel name and select it from a dropdown, which will turn it blue in the description when posted, it's a very unintuitive feature of UA-cam unfortunately. Luckily I always search my own tag names so I find people 😂I recently just bought a complete Narnia set, I read The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe so many times when I was young but never read the others. West With The Night sound fascinating, I'm getting a lot of good recommendations from that prompt.

Oh, so much nostalgia! I remember reading The Magician's Nephew in the school library and being the only one in there who was actually reading. All the other kids were just there to play on the computers. The other kids thought I was weird for reading in a library. I didn't care. I was in freaking Narnia! 😊

That's a beautiful poem! I'm impressed you've got it memorised by heart. I should read more poetry. It's a genre that I never really got into. If I had to pick a favourite, I guess it would be the Raven by Edgar Allan Poe. Bit dark, but that's my taste. 😊

Hi, Sara! Welcome to authortube. OMG, same! Tolkien is literally the reason I read. I mean, I think I always liked reading when I was a kid, but I didn't know I loved reading until I found Tolkien.

Yikes! I missed a shout-out! So sorry about that, Sara. Yes, Harari absolutely counts - and I'd imagine that book would count for all the quarters. So many fascinating books here. I'd be so interested to know what the book about 3,000 years of persecuting women has to say about Cleopatra. For the first year of Historathon back in 2023, I read Stacy Schiff's biography and was disappointed to found out that pretty much every primary source (all men, of course) had basically reduced her to femme fatale wielding her sexual prowess in the service of politics. It has to hurt writing a biography with that kind of primary source material. I only know of Howarth's book on 1066 (which is fantastic), but "The Shetland Bus" sounds fantastic. "Empress of the Nile" was never even on my radar, but now it is! Are you a film lover? (Asking because of the Elaine May.) If you ever have a question for me in the future, please feel free to tag me in the comment section. I'd hate to miss another one!
