AUSTRACK CAMPER INITIAL REVIEW.
Переглядів 12 тис.Рік тому
We needed a bigger van, The MT1 was awesome however circumstances change. We choose Austrack for price vs features and capability. I copped it for choosing the kings trailer and it was awesome, no faults 30000kms over all kinds of terrain. This camper for me was months of research hard decisions, so stay with us and see the results. Aus made vs China Made.

Hi, it's been a while since this video - how's your experience been towing your van? We're looking at getting one. Is seat comfort okay?
Rad walk around. Kudos.
My Scorpio with 2.2 MHawk is going strong with 568000 kms without any issues . Mechanically very very strong and sturdy especially engine and gearbox !!!
Nice 💯
Did you have any leaking inside with all of that rain and the roof up?
Cool video with the family! Keep doing the good work! Cheers
Hello Crabs, What's happening with the little Mahindra, do you still have it?
they nearly the same price and weight as a real off road van and you have to setup and pack up---and soooooo tiny inside, i cant see why someone would choose this over a full van unless it was like $35k
Tend to agree with some of your comments, the weight is a real downside for its size. Set up and pack up doesn't take long, I average around 20 mins for a full set up, less for pack up. A full size would be quicker. Pricing is 60 new. I couldn't find a full size with double bunks and ensuite anywhere near that.
Can u put a four inch lift kit in them? Wats it like to tow? Can u put a five post bullbar on it? Can u make it sound decent? Wanna no if it worth buying or not cause it will go to ute musters if I do
Can't go a 4 in, can tow 2.5 braked and it did it well. I have seen one with a 5 post on it, sound decent, what do you mean? The 2.2 purrs. It was an awesome little runaround ute for me. It did 60000kms with no issues and heaps of sand runs.
Great vid thanks - what was your preferred colour ?
I think I would have gone Silver.
Copy that - just traded my Ice metallic LTZ on a ZR2 in Dark Ash - looks nice in the sun but is dark in every other situation so I’m not sold on it yet.
need to get a mic my dude
Would be better off buying a second hand, better quality trailer for the same price. You’ll lose less money in the long run.
That Nav goes alright for a third of the price tag! 😂
Good to see ya back been a long time
Thanks for staying patient
Most of Kings stuff is Cheap crap not worth buying, you might save money when buying from them initially but nothing will last long and you will end up forking out extra $$$$ to replace. Better of buying better Quality gear from other shops and stay clear of kings
Agree mostly, the camper was good while I had it.
Wheres big reveal 4months on, was it a mahindra?
Just dropped the new rig video, check it out. Chevy
Nice ill have to go and have a look, its only 1 hour away from home
It was a little weapon
Beast
This was a little weapon.
Was gonna get one but decided on a low km MDC Jackson FF. Much better value for money.
Nice choice, the kings was good though. Ive got a new hybrid now.
Ram 1500 or maybe the 2500
Close, but not quite
Hey Mate, we just bought a very similar van, its an altitude 15b. We only have a 2020 Pajero sport, how do you think it will go towing it? The sport is standard so no extra weight or anything.
I know the Van, whats the Paj rated at? I think it'll pull it ok. You will definitely know its there though. We have upgrade our tow vehicle for comfort while towing.
@TwoCrabsAdventures yeah the Pajero is rated to 3100 and 300kg ball weight. I have redarc electric brakes. I know I can't just hook up 3100 tho haha. The van has a tare of 2320. We will mostly travel within 500ks of home for a while until I'm used to it and maybe upgrade the suspension in the sport.
Get a 200 series land cruiser
Was thinking about it. Something different
Number one downside? Overpriced for what it is. Toyota simply doesnt represent value anymore.
GU wagon
Nope!
how did you damaged the bimini
Roller door wasn't far enough up when the misso drove it out. Ooops
@@TwoCrabsAdventures dammmm that hurts
Damn, I had crabs a few months ago 😞
Seb is at my school and he is cool
Seb
How has it been?
It was great, I have sold it now due to buying a bigger van. Howevere the MT1 was awesome, light really easy to use our family just got bigger.
Thanks for review! I have bought a tanami x15 .. have not taken her out yet. I was wondering .. did you cover the gap between the awning and the van when it was raining,.. I have what looks like a gap cover and was trying to see how you may have set it up & used it ?
No I didn't and we had a down pour. It wasn't 2 bad. Nothing got saturated. Thanks for the support Duncan
Really enjoyed your zest on this vid, happily subbed, this is real life, not the sales stuff.
Thanks for the positive comment, I do just try to share the real life even when occasionally reviewing stuff. Thanks legend
🙂Your video is very interesting🙂
im building much the samething except mines going to be out of aluminium. loaded and ready to go its going to weigh 900kgs or around there from what iv calculated. i do like the MT1 from kings dont get me wrong but 1000kgs tare for a camper is ridiculous and if i wasnt building my own id probably still buy one. definetly better then the black series patron i used to own.
Yeah the little MT1 was great, Due to family getting bigger I had to go bigger with a new van. GOod luck with your build and thanks for the support
Thanks for the review. I’ve been looking at those campers since a bloke down the road in Burleigh had a friend turn up with one. Just a bit worried about all the rain that got through to the outdoor kitchen. Can the canvas be beefed up to fix that? Cheers
Ive since sold the MT1, it was great however not suited to my growing family. I didn't have an awning on mine and would recommend one if you plan on using in the rain.
I reckon that trailer would be good to build upon considering some trailers costs just as much as a 24ft caravan these days. I’d start upgrading with better quality stuff where needed. Kings isn’t the worst but it’s not far from it in terms of brand name camping gear but the trailer chassis itself looks pretty tough
It was actually awesome little trailer. Went anywhere, easy tow and quality was good.
Hey there. Just come across your channel. New sub here. Thought you might like to look at my channel and review of kings rooftop tent for fitting siricco 2 fan and light. Cheers Out There Touring
Did u sold ur Mahindra Scorpio,,,or u have it and not using it 🙂🙂
Sold it, It was great but with the purchase of our new Caravan we were paying to much in rego and insurance
That's one ugly mf pickup
A lot of truck for the money. I'm buying one this year
Yeah the little mahindra was awesome for me. Only sold it due to increasing rego's as I have a caravan now also.
I've seen so many positive reviews of the mahindra. I've decided after 3 years of looking that I'm gonna buy a mahindro s10+
That bit where u diffed out, I’ve seen patrols on 35’s get stuck in there
Ur so good
Mr adtoe i know you love a bit of mud, but in ya car mate!!!!! with young sebby in there too this is why you cant have nice things. at least you didn't take your shitbox mahindrah out, that thing would of blown and ended up like that car you found
Haha Thanks Lance, btw the Mahindra was great. I have sold it now but I was a little weapon.
@@TwoCrabsAdventures good, glad to hear you sold that shitbox LOL, love ya Mr adtoe
Looks good! Have you been out in it recently? How does it perform offroad? We also have a sandy 79 and looking into vans at the moment. Relaxing that's what you're supposed to do - my wife would have said the exact same thing hahaha
Yeah been out a couple of times recently, it has everything so luxury as but due to weight I wouldn't be takingit i anything to hectic.
congrats on little hermit Crab glad to see him in this world. your better than the shit haval h2 beamng car tho Mr adtoe
Awesome Atto! Congrats, hope the Mrs is doin good too
Hope Mrs v doing well
why did you buy that piece of shit car Mr adtoe thought you were better than that.....
I know everyone does this but really it’s not a good idea. Putting anything in front of the grille(like lights) it doesn’t take a lot of thought to place them somewhere else like on a bracket upside down. Thanks for saying your height, I’m 6’4” ant find most Asian cars uncomfortable smallish)
Thanks for the feedback George, Ive sold the Mahindra but it was an awesome car did 30000kms in itand didnt miss a beat. If you like the Mahindra's, take one for a drive. I dont think your height would be a problem in them.
is that ur wife and kid
