I really wish with Ultimate they could've made only the fighters (and any specific alts like other characters or costumes) trophies, or still kept descriptions/bios alongside the spirits because these glorified stickers while fun in WoL or the rare moments I go into spirit board or set up special matches that enable them for fun, are just not the same when viewing them unlike trophies. I can only press X so many times to swap between the fighters render and official art before I go insane from how fairly mundane it can be. There were quite a number of times in Brawl and Smash 4 where I would just sit for hours viewing my collection, it really was a joy to read and inspect items even as mundane as a smoke-bomb while the gallery music played in the background. I remember Smash 4 had a shop where you could buy trophies to make it easier to collect all of them. Each one boxed in their own packaging so you almost felt like a collector hunting to buy figures for display back home. And what was extra neat, because Amiibo got introduced round that time as well it felt strangely immersive to an extent if you happened to have an amiibo for an existing trophy, like you were setting up your own trophy collection overtime. Though it won't beat coin launcher from Brawl, absolutely pure fun. Just shooting enemies and items with all the coins you earned through regular gameplay to try and catch that one specific trophy you still needed to fill out a specific collection. All in all it was just a really good time, I just hope whenever the next Smash gets announced, they either bring em back or have a new alternative to spirirts because these PNGs do not give me the same joy.

this is a very bad take on naruto naruto even when learning the rasenigan was not really ready to learn it at too alot of work to learn it something kakashi could no give him because he didnt go threw that he just stole it with his eyes. naruto was also kept secret that he was the 4ths son because it would make him a target for the same people that killed the 4th and he had the ninetails that couldnt exactly be let stolen from under their nose. jiryiah who likely codeveloped the technique being the 4ths master would obviously be the best person to teach it to him. kakashi teaching the chidori to saaskue which is the rasingan with lighting element change is his attempt to appease saskue and keep him from looking to outside sources for power which he eventually does after he gets the curse mark and see orochimarus power in the forest. they cant teach naruto before he s ready which they have to anyways and kakashi isnt exactly the best person to teach the technique anyways. what yall are saying makes no sense

The trophy gallery will always have a special place in my heart. Especially in the melee era. While I like the gameplay of being able to fight spirits which makes collecting them more fun imo, but I miss the “Nintendo Virtual Museum” element of the trophies with the cool 3D models and a description of the character’s origins and the games they are from. It helped a young me in the GCN era to learn more about Nintendo’s history. I also consider Melee to be the finale for the “classic Nintendo era” which to me is inbetween the NES/Game&Watch and early Arcade era all the way to the N64/GBC era. I consider the GCN/GBA era the transitional era from classic to modern (or postmodern) era of Nintendo. Melee is such a weird game with it being an early GCN era game. During an era where 3D graphics finally started to actually look good compared to the n64 and ps1 era. Its cool in hindsight how we get to see these old classic designs for these characters, not just the playable ones, but also the trophies that showed plenty of other old school Nintendo characters fully in proper 3D. Melee felt like a celebration of their classic era since it only could properly reference anything before 2002 (Like the characters, stages, music and trophies) due to it being an early GCN era game. I think only a few things are mentioned from the GCN era like Luigi’s Mansion and Pikmin. Maybe animal crossing but I think that was on the n64 in japan first. The early GBA felt like a portable Snes but it eventually was its own thing. The rest of the GCN would lead to the new era.

Mariokart 8 did the Retro tracks right, it‘s just the Booster Course Pass that dropped the ball. I‘m not a big fan of these tracks that change every lap, I like the rhythm of having multiple laps and adapting with every one
