The drumset beat features 16th notes on the right hand played on the hi hat and a syncopated kick drum pattern as well as ghost notes on the snare. It's so trippy how much the beat changes with a different tempo. I never realized that so many cool fast beats were classic grooves sped way up. Thanks bro, very nice.
Nice work😊
Thank you very much! Any requests for grooves/styles/patterns/breakdowns?
My name is mud
@@joshdaly159 great job!
MNIM,,,, and you're playing it wrong
@@liakosliakos348 Correct. And yes I am.
@@Popupdrumvideos 👍
I've never seen an actual practice for improving the stroke. I will get a metronome and follow along. Thanks bro, appreciate the lessons.
Sweet, nice to have you back.
It’s way out of the time that you set at the beginning even with the box triplets, and one of your hands is dragging
Thanks for the feedback, if I'm not mistaken I played this one at 88bpm, I have the headphones on running a click and listening back it sounds pretty in time to me, but hey no one's perfect! Expect for El Estepario of course 😂 and I will admit I messed a bit on the ending cymbal hit, but hey, I'm a bit rusty after hurricane clean up so I'm gonna forgive myself for that one.
Sounds damn killer to me, thanks for posting. I've learned a lot from your content. Bless you bro @@Popupdrumvideos
Thanks man! Glad I can give you some inspiration to sink your teeth into 😁
@@Popupdrumvideos Triplets and sixtuplets at 88. Sounds fine to me.
Get out your metronome and listen to this with only quarters on. You'll get it. This is in time.
Great to see you back brother, I hope things are starting to resemble normal. Killer back beat. Thanks
@@ericcurry-pitcher5493 they are man thank you so much, the creativity is flowing again. Y'all's support meant the world thanks again homie 🙏
Great groove
Great username!
Ok, this look no so hard but I can't do
Here's a link to the original video, maybe slowing it down would help! ua-cam.com/video/08Gi81bo6tc/v-deo.htmlsi=1hw7xowYAsgl17uJ
@@Popupdrumvideos thanks
Cool bro, nice to see you, even in hindsight. Hopefully things are not going to roughly and this new storm won't hit you, or anyone else.
Holy shit bro, that's awesome.
This groove absolutely bleeeew me away.
Youuuuu sunuva gun
No comments and only one like??? Like me fix that for you!!!! I got you bro keep it up!!!!! ❤
Thank you so much man! Visit my channel and spread the word!!!
@@Popupdrumvideos I will if you check out the my band vaginoplasty on UA-cam. There is a video of me “the drummer” and my best friend the guitarist.
You got yourself a DEAL
Tricky beat, has a real off time feel. I'm like starting all over with this one, but love the challenge. Thanks
@@ericcurry-pitcher5493 yes I totally agree! The kick drum on the last 16th note of the pattern (aka the "4th partial" or the "ah" if your counting 1e&ah etc) gives this groove a nice lift!
@@Popupdrumvideos Thank you bro, I always appreciate your content and help with it.
Of course man! My goal down the line is to offer custom made drum exercises for students of my channel. Basically I'd have them submit a video of their playing and come up with 3 or 4 custom made exercises and playalongs they could use to improve their playing any time. I'd want to make it super interactive and affordable. Sound like a cool idea?
@@Popupdrumvideos That is a killer idea and would be a great way to see where the help is needed and to individualize the lessons. Hard part of Internet lessons is getting down to what the individual needs. I look forward to it.
What kind of headphones are those? Any good? I’m look for noise isolation studio headphones to play with and I’m having a hard time. Good stuff! Sorry to bombard you.
@@bradmuehlenbein no need to say sorry! I'm an open book 😁 they are Sennheiser HD280s and they are fantastic. I believe they're about $100, this is my second pair and I absolutely love them.
@@Popupdrumvideos Oh heck yeah! That’s a decent price! Thank you! Had a pair of Vic Firth’s a long time ago sadly they broke before I even got to use them. 🤦🏻♂️
@@bradmuehlenbein what a bummer, I had to replace my first pair because my dog chewed the cushiony part that goes around your ears 😂
@@Popupdrumvideos haha that turd!
Awesome ✔️
Many thanks! 🙏
Thanks for starting it slow and then move it forward like that. I was able to get it pretty quick. I think practice on this will help me with some of your other grooves that are still coming along ( slowly ) lol. Appreciate the content.
Awesome man! Let me know if you need any additional tips 😎
K
Couldn't have said it better myself
Squeaky clean
Nasty!!! 😎
Had to watch 10 times just jam, then 10 more to see what your doing. Reverse? Those are awesome
Thanks man! This was a tough pattern to get down. The key is really accenting the floor tom and keeping the other notes down so you don't hit your stick or arm during the crossover. This was ridiculously fun to practice, highly recommend it.
A Norteno drummer. Gangstas
I just started swinging muh hiiiips.
We could use a pop up or two for this killer groovy beat.
Every time I think I got some triplets down, you give more. Awesome groove
Thanks man, got love those sweet, sweet triplets 😎
clean groove!
Nice and tidy 😎
Imma need a blast beats video ❤
Congratulations on being my 4 thousand one hundredth view!!! Your package of sausage links is in the mail
On a real note, if you haven't checked out El Estepario Siberiano you gotta look him up, he will definitely scratch your blast beat itch 🤤
Sick chops
I appreciate it!
Dang dude. You’re like the Atlanta Braves of drumming!
You're just saying that because I also can't beat the Phillies
Sweet, and yet groovy.
My body is ready.
You sure about that? Might wanna stretch those glutes one more time, bud 🥳
I am waiting for the video drop as well. He gives a person a real shot at the often intricate grooves.
cool
Thanks mom! ❤️

Das nice. Real nice.
Nice groove, cool backdrop.
One slipped past me here. This is a tricky sounding beat, but I am going to learn it. Thanks
You can do it!
Truly badass. Damn bro another classic.
Thanks man 🙌
SICK!
Thank you! 🙏
This sounds good, great job with the pop ups, it definitely makes it easier to accomplish. Playing this the first time sounded like I almost had a shuffle beat. Thanks bro.
I dig this 😎
Cool groove, I was able to get it pretty quickly. I'm trying to take the stiffness out of my posture while playing. Something I noticed watching your videos. As always thanks man.
That's great! Relax 😎 you're playing drums 😂
@@Popupdrumvideos No doubt dude. I don't notice it sometimes. At least it's not resembling hand to hand combat anymore, 😂😆😂.
Here's a short with a similar vibe: ua-cam.com/users/shortsj9lukKFVZrA?si=6zTg9UhEmaAzv9OU
I like how you make practice beats that are so cool and fun to play. Makes practice like a jam. Good stuff, thanks.
My pleasure!!
I keep coming back to this video it's really helped me through a rutt.
Oh yeah? That's awesome man, how so?
I was struggling with the triple strokes with my left hand not wanting to cooperate. Watching how comfortable and loose you play helped. I followed the technique relaxed, slowed down, counted and it's coming along. Should I try to have my left hand in the same place as the right stick placement? I'm having to pull my left stick up further. I'm wondering if I should have the match grip identical. Sorry for the dumb question. Lol@@Popupdrumvideos
If you're gonna go with matched grip it can help to practice all variations (French grip, German, etc). But yeah ideally the left mirrors the right. Speaking of mirrors, they help a lot with this exact thing!
@@Popupdrumvideos Can you tell me what the grip your using in the video? I was holding my sticks like you but I noticed you were loose on the back of it and were using the fingers in back to help. My stick bounce improved quickly now I am trying to even my hands and get the left stick to bounce the same.
I'd call it German but maybe modified a little towards French with my thumb slightly moving towards the top but yeah working on finger strength and finger control is a must, I posted a short about that specific exercise a while ago: ua-cam.com/users/shortsBxtzxwcfdjM?si=vMG2QxlVRwDjbX1C The bonus tip about playing in your forearms mainly helps with finger strength
Right on!
Way to go!
Practicing triple stroke notes with a groove really helped me get them down. Do you still practice fundamentals? I'm having a much easier time with things by counting everything. I used to get the jist and memorize, but at a point things were too complicated for that. Thanks for all your videos and correspondence.
@@ericcurry-pitcher5493 always gotta practice those fundamentals! That'll be a lifelong journey. Glad the counting is helping!
