Documenting life experiences in Bangkok and beyond, some of it are just for fun as I experiment different ideas, with the intent to keep a record for my children as they grow up, and also for the next generation as they can see and learn. What is current today, is history tomorrow, some of it will be lost and only remembered by a limited few, however if we document as much as possible then it will not be forgotten forever.

Birdy Bike Trespass M6 Motorway & Accident
Переглядів 802 місяці тому
M6 Motorway is a brand new, but unfinished, highway connecting Bangkok with Nakorn Ratchasima (Korat), a distance of approximately 195 km. The highway is 80% finished except a portion between Saraburi and Pak Chong. I have tried to ride this segment once before on my Bike Friday New World Tourist but had to give up to avoid a potential heatstroke. Now, I am trying again with the Birdy Bike. How...
Khao Yai National Park Car Free Day 2024
Переглядів 484 місяці тому
Once a year the park is closed on "Car Free Day" weekend for people to run, walk or ride up Khao Yai National Park either from the Pak Chong gate (14 km) or the Prachinburi gate (37 km). Since I've cycled up these hills so many times from both directions, and covering the whole length of the park in a single ride so many times I decided to run up this time, something I've never done before. The...

Same I love my Birdy GT. Have yet to replace the stock Schwalbe Black Jack tires but thinking of changing to yours
I think you will find the Big Apple rides better and has better puncture resistance, I actually went through two sets of Black Jacks before converting, but no doubt Black Jacks look really cool 😂
@PitanuBoonyaratvej what tire pressure do you normally run for these?
@@Mizi08 Pump it up to about 60 psi, and ride until it's about 30 ... then pump it up again.
Very nice
Thank you!
Excellent informative narrative during the bike ride video along the safe canal path and seeing rejuvenation housing project along the way. Love the two stage breakfast ending with the coffee. Must say there is always something new to see in BKK.
I'm glad you like the video. Holding the camera on a stick allows me to switch angles and narrate what's happening along the way. The only downside is the potential for accidents, especially since my left wrist is still very weak.
Meanwhile, here in Canada, minus 20, 25cm of snow, and 5 cm of rain tomorrow! Im jealous.
I could complain about the scorching hot temperatures here also :) Luckily we are gifted with travel opportunities, unlike our ancestors who had to endure long & dangerous journeys by sea.
Hi Pitanu, nice video with a great variety of different shooting angles. Sorry for your accident, I wish you a speedy recovery!
Thank you for watching , I'm currently nursing my wounds and planning the next trip already :)
Is it possible for the Neo to track you from the front? Or can it only film you from behind while you are riding?
Yes, it is possible, but I didn't try that move yet.
Nice video.
Love the music tempo.
Thank you.
It's amazing that it can be so quick and agile not to forget it is totally focused on the rider and maintaining its distance.
Surprised me too. Tech is moving fast.
You're the only cyclist on the road !
@@sabenaypo7465 hahaha I didn't think about that until you mentioned it.
Thanks for the ride in Bangkok !
@@sabenaypo7465 thanks for watching
❤❤Looks delicious ❤❤
So good
We are doing this in a few months on the same train - but to Chumphon. Appreciate the info
Great, but I do suggest buying tickets in advance because the train only has 3 bogeys, and most often it gets sold out.
Thank you so much for joining us :)
@@hahhongchannel Thank you for organizing the event every year for us cyclists.
I installed Schwalbe Billy Bonkers (2inches) tires and they feel like 20inch and ride in all terrain. For mild gravel slightly lower the tyre pressure.
I actually looked at the Billy Bonkers prior to purchasing the Big Apple, because the bronze sidewall was distracting my decision-making hahahaha. But I felt the treads were too aggressive for my liking.
How does the 18” wheel compare to a same width 20” wheel for performance? Pick-up, deceleration, maneuverability, mresponsuveness, etc?
The 18" wheel acceleration is way better naturally, as for responsiveness & maneuverability I still feel the 18" has an edge.
I have always wanted one of these but have never been interested in a Brompton.
@@Biking360 I think the Airnimal Rhino suits you best, always wanted one myself.
That looked like a lot of fun and not too far from me. I wish I knew about it because I would certainly have given it a go. Maybe next year??
And you should, I've been coming to this event annually, next year I might even train for it :)
🎉I've been there it's very interesting & great experience going down in the mine, great for the kids.
Interesting indeed hello from NSW L/ridge opal miner here .
That looks OK folded. How does it rise with wider tyres compared to the ones you had on before? Take care and of course, ride safe. JP
The Marathon is an okay tire, but not one I would want to ride on daily due to the harsher ride quality compared to the higher volume Big Apple, also the Big Apple adds an extra layer of suspension without it being bouncy. I also tried the Black Jack, which is like a mountain bike tire, but 1. you are bound to wipe out cornering on wet roads, 2. the carcass is susceptible to thorns, pins, staples, toothpicks, etc. it is just plain terrible and unless you like fixing punctures I really wouldn't recommend it.
That's pretty cool
Learn to change your own tires
I usually do 99% of the time, but I thought I'll add more content, eg. background about the tires before & after, view of my ride in Bangkok, and a Brompton bike shop.
Why?
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Can you buy tickets for #43 online in advance or only at the station? If only at the station how much earlier do you need to be there?
You can book online via the SRT website
You really need to learn how to fit your own tyres.

Thank you for keep sharing new update, this is great for sharing, keep safe and stay connected...
Thank you, I will
Pitanu~ bonjour. Like~you made superb vlog. 💯
Thank you so much 😊

Hello, I have really enjoyed this trip through Bangkok, a very stressful road but at the same time seeing you driving around between those lanes I have enjoyed it a lot, thanks for sharing, until the next video, I have already subscribed, (I also have my six-speed electric Brompton, but I don't have as much traffic in my city.) greetings 😊👍👌🚴🚴✨ 💫
Thanks for watching, and glad you enjoyed my video.
Is the train air conditioned ?
#43 only has air-conditioned cars.
Great shots!
Great little video and narration. Kept me engaged to the end. ❤. A bike sure shows you a different perspective that you dont otherwise normally see. ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video... ❤ liked the narrow pathways and traffic weaving. Camera perfect height. Liked the narration , humour, and traffic sound in background
Thank you, glad you liked it.
I've done this route a few times but always from the station a few hundred metres away. Just to clarify are all trains to Hua Hin and further down south now running from Bang Sue station?
You can also depart from Thon Buri station 2 times a day with the ordinary train, if you can bear the 4 hour 30 minutes journey.
Random!
We came across with your vlog when we were checking the hotels in Luang Prabang and decided to stay there next year. We fell in love and booked the overwater bungalow❤ Thank you so much.

Always fun and never gets old :)
A cool place and a place that would be great to visit when I eventually get my act together and ride through Khao Yai. Thanks for sharing.
Definitely worth a trip, but if alone best take the join boat for Baht 200 pp, only problem is you need to wait for the boat to fill up.
BTW I've done the ride from Prachinburi to Pakchong, train to bus, all in a day from Bangkok, the beer after has never tasted so good :)
Where are you from on this video? Do you find the tire good at what pressure?
Not sure what you mean by "where are you from on this video", but the video was shot in Bangkok. I prefer all my tires at highest recommended pressure, in the case of the Continental it was 100 psi.
Wow! I'm really surprised you could get traction on the beach!
I'm beginning to love this bike more and more as I get older :😄
Would almost think your using a drone just a meter above ground, so smooth. Pretty cool.
GoPro software is the best :)
That's a great day trip and a place I have only ever passed through before without considering stopping. I will definitely schedule a bit of time to have a look around the next time I am passing through.
We actually missed a few places because the trip was purposely time restricted to see what we could be done on a Suvarnabhumi transit, but in the future definitely worth an overnight trip with a river trip journey.
'around the (ไทย) world in 17 minutes' , burn fats and fab (เปลืองแฟ้บ) ก๊ากกก
Hahaha, your Brompton got molested. Anyway, I really enjoy watching your cycling tour around the city of Bangkok. Big LIKE!! I'm a new friend here from Singapore. Have a nice day. 👍🔔
Thank you so much
Sure liked this video... Right in the middle of the action and moves along quickly. I noticed quite a number of water revellers gave you a free pass or could not quite make up their minds whether to soak you or not. I think they were more surprised to see a guy riding a bike in the melee. Felt like i was riding along. Nice music, narrative and camera work for sure.
Surprised me a little as well, perhaps because they were worried cuz 1. I was on a bicycle, and 2. I had a camera and they didn't know it was water proof.
I lived on Banh Khun Non, off Charansanitwong 33, for many years so I know this area well. I have to say you are brave than me to ride around on a bike at Songkran in BKK. It looked fun but I am pleased you obviously got back home and you are OK!
Thank you, I enjoyed a cold Singha after replenishing the lost calories 😂
