the thing is they shouldnt have set up the games narrative the way they did..most of part 1 was them hyping up the whole "defy fate" schtick and "the unknown journey" bs just for the core story to play out the same....and the ff7 rebirth ending was a mess, i know they purposely did it the way they did to spark discussion on aeriths fate, but REPEATEDLY they said the core story isnt changing and nomura himself stated whoever dies isnt coming back. which is why i don't really understand the discussion and why they set up the story up the way they did. they could've done a 1:1 remake if they wanted to keep the integrity of the plot. but no...they wanted to give a false hope narrative and dip their toes into multiverse/world shenanigans but weren't brave enough to follow through on their own story elements set up from part 1.........and you know... despite all of this people will still call this game a masterpiece

that is a good point. Fishman Island also showcased this with her listening to jinbe as well. I thinks its going to play a huge role in her character arc during the final saga, especially with how racism and even classism can play a huge role especially with the god knights, the celestial dragons and imu. That can all lead to her being more heavily involved in that part of the final saga.

That's the thing, absolutely nothing. It's not wrong at all, but the OP community seems to despise the idea of it happening between the strawhats for many reasons that I never found to be strong ones. I'm fine if nothing happens romance wise with the strawhats, but it's seen as a bad thing for many.

@@TheLoonyBin If anything were to happen, it would have already happened along time ago. One Piece is in it's final phase isn't it? (I've only watched the anime) I understand that people get carried away with shipping, but I think other OP fans should just let them have there fun. I think a lot of people for some reason think that romance has no reason to be in shounen- but I don't think they realize that the demographic already has a ton of romance titles- some of which aren't even harem. Most battle-shounen don't really have romance- or if the main characeter even has a love interest, they usually never write any progression with them. The only battle-shounen that I've seen that actually tried (a little bit) was Naruto and YuYu Hakusho. Because of that, people might look down on it, solely because it has only ever been written so poorly within the specific genre.

@@W42ny the thing is, oda didnt start writing romance more until post timeskip. whether he decides to go and make a ship canon is up to him. i dont nec agree with if there was a romance it would have already happened bec they way oda set up the shs adventure is adventure first. romance def has a place in one piece and can be done by oda. people can ship whoever they wish and its completely fine. I just believe that oda, if he does something, has written the story in a way that can allow him to make a ship canon because of his writing. he just takes time and doesnt try to force it into his story like other manga do it and thats part of the slow burn or small instances he incorporates while writing his story that allow him the freedom to do romance if he so chooses.

@@TheLoonyBin That would be doing romance correctly, however most action shounen end up going half way. They set up the potential love interest, give them maybe a few one-sided (because the protagonist is usually dense as hell) moments, then don't follow up because of shift in story and focus ending up on the action. Personally, I'm fine with characters like this- as is just doesn't bother me, but a lot of people usually hate the love interest character because of the lack of development and character depth. Though it really would be nice if they created a balance and actually took the time to develop a relationship. Honestly I would be fine with One Piece having romance, or even a rushed romance, however that is only because I seek out that genre.

@@W42ny to me, if romance is being built, its being built in that way. Its not being rushed, but slow paced and a lot of people arent used to that. They need to be spoon fed romantic moments to recognize it. Its sort of imitating real life relationship growth between two people with the way oda writes and its why I enjoy it a lot.

the thing is, they have moments that can be seen as romantic and if it wasnt one piece, any other manga would probably be seen as such. whether luffy and nami get together, i personally think oda has done well enough in his writing to make it seem likes its friendship, but leaves himself open for romance. Most romances in stories tend to be spoon fed, but a really well written one doesnt need to do so if the core of their bond is friendship and feelings can always change. the sibling argument has always been a strange one bec as someone with siblings, we dont act the way luffy and nami does. now if you want to use the other side of the sibling argument, many romances started off with people saying they are like siblings to each other but change to romantic as the story progresses. In one piece you have that with kuma and ginny and both share similarities to luffy and nami, not all the way, but has some. in fma, winry calls ed like a brother but it ends with them being more than that. So the argument like siblings doesnt always means it stays that way.

its def more comedy which is why i called it a parody. there is some romance involvement with the two leads, maybe not too grand but its def more towards the comedy aspect of the manga.

It was a great homage to Naruto and was awesome to see how he drew Nami smiling at Luffy. I will say though, the reason Nami, Chopper and Luffy were there was because their names spelled out out Naruto, so idk if Id say its a lunami crumb, but wont stop anyone from saying otherwise. [(Nami), Ru (Rufī) and To (Tonī), forming "Naruto".]

thats why its interesting for us to keep track of. could it mean something, maybe, maybe not, but its something that we have keeping an eye on and its interesting to see if it leads to anything.

@@TheLoonyBin You've probably already heard of the theory that Arlong Park is basically a condensed version of the grand finale of One Piece. If that theory holds any water, which I think it does, then we're pretty much guaranteed to get some kind of major interaction between Luffy and Nami before, during, or after the final battle. Something at least on the same level as the hat scene, if not bigger, something definitive.

It set the tone for the rest of the story as other arcs were essentially inspired behind what Arlong Park was all about and that it would continue to do so until this day which it has

@@TheLoonyBin Yup, Arlong Park = Marejoise, Fishmen pirates = Celestial Dragons. So if the final battle plays out similarly to Arlong Park, then Luffy and Nami are definitely gonna have some kind of major interaction that may or may not be romantic.
