Gameplay History - Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection
This is my "how to play every game" guide, but with better audio.
A "Gameplay History" of all the combat systems and mechanics from the start of the MvC series, but with a title the algorithm likes. No Punisher, sorry Matt. Hopefully this will give people an idea of what makes each of these games unique, and all of them, worth playing. Some of these games don't have any YT content for learning them, much less beginner's guides. On that note, I wouldn't mind answering some game questions, or maybe streaming the collection??? That depends on somebody even asking for it.
Each game was going to get an individual video, but then they announced the digital release date a couple weeks ago. Luckily, I didn't want to do the same video six times anyway!

The audio quality/mixing of this video is poor. Try adding some transitions next time to properly separate your games and topics
Added UA-cam chapters, at least. I had chapters in mind while editing, just forgot it by the end, since finishing this took an all nighter. About the audio, honestly, I'm willing to just re record the whole thing and swap out the audio without taking the video down.
I'll sub for a while to check if I'm intelligent enough to comprehend the advanced tutorials. I usually just farm specials and pray to hit the enemy with them 😅

I'm not using an arcade stick, that's just the display my overlay program has.
I would've love to have had the COTA throw escape mechanic in all Marvel series. It would have make the game played different, specifically in Marvel Super Heroes and MvC series where some throws lead to very damaging or lethal combos.

While I really appreciate this video, its really held back by whatever mic is being used to capture your voice. Its very muffled and makes understanding you a bit difficult, I'm afraid.

I'm 42 and I first played this game at an arcade that was attached to my local cinema. In 1994 I was 11 or 12 (depending on the month), and had been playing FGs almost exclusively since SF2 came to consoles. Being a fan of anything Capcom or SNK, and also an X-Men fan made this a revelation. Picked Wolverine, and after a short while was challenged by someone. Can't remember their pick, but my basic FG know-how allowed me to pull off some wild combos. A small crowd gathered and a guy started commentating. "In Mid-Air!" he yelled as I connected with an Air Grab. I'll never forget it. It felt so awesome to pull off cool shit and win a match in front of people. And the nature of the 'Magic series' chain combo explains why it felt so easy to rack up these insane combos having never played the game before, but just utilizing what I learned from hours & hours of SF2 in all its forms. I never bothered to delve into the mechanics of the VS series because I never thought I'd ever get a chance to own these games. I couldnt afford the home ports or the consoles for which they were released back then. And prices have only risen in the decades since. Words can't begin to describe how happy I am for this MvC Collection. Thanks for the video!

Now that you mention it, once I inevitably compile all of these videos into one, I should title it something like "How to Play EVERY game in Marvel vs Capcom", or something like that. Whatever version of that the UA-cam algorithm prefers. I'd rather go with something that better alludes to how I want to do this for other games, but I'll probably have to convey that within the videos.
It's always shocking to see how weird and different CoTa is even compared to Marvel Super Heroes. It's def rough around the edges, but it has a lot of charm to me either way, probably cause of how stiff and weird it is, lol.
Stiff and Swift Death, thanks to those absurd throw combos. Just, uh, don't ask me about doing any of that myself until after the MvC2 video 😅
