To build a modern battleship, you'd need to reignite several industries. First, steel and metalworking for high-strength alloys and armor plating would be essential, along with modernized shipyards capable of handling large, complex warships. Advanced propulsion systems, like nuclear or gas turbines, would need to be developed, along with specialized electronics for radar, targeting, and missile systems. Industries for heavy artillery, missile manufacturing, and naval-grade sensors would also be key, alongside suppliers for AI and automated defense systems. Lastly, precision engineering for weapons systems and propulsion components would round out the supply chain.

One day, a generation of humans will get on this planet and see humans as humans. We will eventually get past seeing skin color. We will eventually get past seeing people who grew up in a different area may have different dialect may have different accents than you will see past all of that, we are not needlessly thrown our lives away at the whim of the powerful sad humans being on this planet for essentially a millennia have not learned how to coexist yet there’s no point in time in human history where war isn’t happening or war is about to happen

There should always be a commissioned ship named "U.S.S. Nimitz" in the U.S. Navy. Fleet Admiral Chester Nimitz was the architect of American/Allied victory in the Pacific Theater of World War II, and represented the best strategic leadership of the U.S. Navy at its greatest power and led it to its greatest victory. Nimitz was, in short, a great American, a small-town Texan, and a fine example of the Greatest Generation.

This is not the 1st time. In the late 1970's a US submarine in the Mediterranean Sea ran into a seamount. They did an emergency blow to get to the surface and sent on all available emergency frequencies that they were in trouble and taking on water. Fortunately, the ship I was serving on (USS Savannah AOR-4) on just happened to be very close to the location; once the OOD noticed the location was very close picked up the ship to ship radio - called the submarine, and asked them to pop a flare. And there they were... Now normally a supply ship like the USS Savannah AOR-4 is called a "target" by submariners. Not that night. We provided assistance until other ships arrived; and a seal diving team parachuted into the water to work on sealing the shaft as the shaft seals was where most of the water was coming in. One of the most amazing things I have ever seen was then next dawn as I got off my 4-8 watch in the engine-room. Normally that part of the Mediterranean is just like a big very popular lake. You go out on deck and you see cargo and cruise ships and civilian boats all over the place. That morning I went out on deck and only saw a screen of NATO Destroyers around us and the submarine, and beyond that a screen of NATO Cruisers. Not a single civilian ship or pleasure boat to be seen at all - not even as the faintest dot on the horizon. It was like a NATO exercise in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. We then provided spools or tow line so come destroyer or cruiser could tow the submarine to a safe US Naval Base in Spain; and then we refueled and passed various palatalized cargo to a bunch of ships (we may have refueled the ship that was to do the tow before they rigged the tow line). They released the USS Savannah to leave the area and head to an large ship that was waiting for our fuel. Only to get called back when the tow line broke as we were the ship with spare spools of tow line. We then stayed with the submaring until we got outside the Straits of Gibraltar where we were released to get back to I believe a now anchored large ship because we were going to be delayed by many days from the original scheduled refueling. Anyway, the US Navy has always wanted a good mapping of the ocean bottom. But, that is currently estimated to take another few decades as its very costly and time consuming to cover the entire worlds oceans.
