Hi, each program states the grades you must have. For example, the BA SPA requires six GCSEs grade A-C or 5-9, including Maths, English and a Science or equivalent qualifications.

Hi, the good news is that, depending on the stage he has reached in the past, he has up to 5 attempts for the initial stages. If he has already progressed beyond the initial stages previously, he has 3 attempts remaining for the program.

Unfortunately not! I’m Malaysian, and it is strictly only open for Singaporeans and Malaysians. You will see on their Aib Initio page it has (Singapore). Also, even if you are Singaporean/Malaysian forget about it unless you’re 26 years old or older! They do not sponsor visas either it is strictly for those who have the permanent right to live and work in Singapore.

@ for the Malaysian Citizen part, we are only eligible to apply when it has Ab Initio Cadet Pilot (Malaysia) as I have seen it like this last year. In terms of the age limit being 26 there was an interview with an ex SIA Cadet Pilot on UA-cam - who explained quite a lot of the necessary criteria to be considered. Another thing I think is important is that I sort of mentally gave up after the first 2 tests. I did the maths and logical ones first to try and get the tougher ones done before the reading as I believed this one to be the easiest from what I read online. Throughout them 2 I thought I had a complete car crash, and thought I’d defo failed so when it came to the third one (the reading one) I had already mentally clocked out and just quickly went through it thinking it was game over. Little did I know after getting my results, I was very much on track to the DI after the first 2 and was doing better than I thought with above average. But in the third one where I had already given up, below average. Had I kept going at full intensity and kept the hope I’d probably be preparing for the DI. Feels stupid looking back but a big lesson for the future for not giving up. IF ANYONE HASNT APPLIED YET AND IS PLANNING TO, don’t give up until all 3 tests are done. You might be doing better than you think. And prep a fair bit, I don’t think I’ve seen that logical test in any other aviation application so if you’re like me and got a bit complacent with previous experience, this is very different.
