Nikon has had high speed sync for almost 20 years, how is this any different? For stills images at high shutter speeds, a global shutter makes no difference. The global shutter is more of a benefit for video at 1/50th or 1/60th a second.

Thank god I predicted that they will do the same as sony in a9 and decided not to wait for them, so now I’m extremely happy with my z8. I will never change a high resolution of 45 with 8k60 to a global shutter with 20. Those cameras are only for some specific sports

Who the hell needs 120 fps or a shutter speed of 1/80,000th of a second? All that...but only 4K video for the same price as the Z9 now? And only a 24 mp sensor? No.

I love my X-M1... great having a very small (Ricoh GR size) X mount camera. So maybe the X-M5 will be a successor to the X-M1, X70 and XF10.

Studio photography doesn't need at all high flash synch speed, because continuous light is negligible in studio Outdoor flash photography does need high speed flash sync.

Seems to me going from a 45.7 megapixel sensor to a 20.4 sensor is a step backwards.

A water down 20.4 MPx sensor just to achieve global shutter? And I thought the Sony A9III at 24 MPx was a step back. A low Mpx count just doesn't cut it for me as a wildlife photographer.

There’ll be lack of Mpx, no 8k60 as a consequence. Plus I never change 45 mpx to 24… so never change to my z8

Keep on dreaming, while I shot more than 50000 images in the past 6 month on the A9III in sports and concerts. Not to mention the thousends of photographers using the A9III at the Olympic Games shooting some of the most memoriable pictures.

How is this “collaboration” unexpected? Nikon bought RED. This was inevitable. It’s still exciting, but not unexpected. Many of us are eagerly awaiting the cross pollination of these two systems because it is expected and inevitable. Now bring on the global shutter in a Z body.

All current model's of APSc size sensors viz Nikon Z30/Z50/Zfc are meant for replacement for D3xxx & D5xxx entry level enthusiasts. Future newer models viz Nikon Z80/Z90 etc will be replacements for D7XXX & D500 series.... Anticipation of Z80 with 24/26MP APSc sensor with dual SD card slots suitable for Sport's Wildlife Action photography with 4k video, whereas Z90 will have 33MP/40MP APSc sensor with dual XQD/SD card slots for Pro level Sports Action Wildlife photography with 6k video... Expected to hit the shelves by Oct Nov Dec 2024....Nikon loyalists are fed up with waiting for the upgrades!!!! Nikon please DO NOT DISAPPOINT now....

Fx30 make sense to exist price wise for budget friendly peers. I also think it cannot replace photography like the A7IV since it cant handle flash and other.

The A7S series was not only video camera, but also for photography in ultra low light situations, like a total darkness. So if they decide to make only a video option out of this, stills photographers which need an ultra low light camera will be hugely dissapointed

Why does Nikon still keep low pass filter? It costs more and less clarity. Dumb! Nikon is out of competition and lingering around old format of thinking.

I just don’t see the air line encroaching on the Mavic. I can see stacked improved sensors and much like Samsung mobiles a lens cluster. I’d would be cheaper to produce and just putting a bigger sensor does little unless you go all the way to m4/3. The big improvements are in the image processor.

Es que acaso Nikon no estudia las opiniones de los usuarios. Existen en el mundo miles de fotógrafos de paises en desarrollo y hasta de paises desarrollados que viven de eventos, sobre todo bodas y cosas parecidas pero que su empresa no les da para comprarse equipos caros y por eso en estos momentos trabajan con la Z5, cámara asequible y con 2 ranuras de memoria. La Z6 y la Z7 pudieron haber tenido más éxito de haber contado con 2 ranuras, por ello muchos fotografos profesionales la descartaron. ¿Ahora piensan retroceder con la nueva versión poniendo una sola ranura, quieren obligar a los que viven ajustados de la fotografía a ir por modelos mas caros? Pues opino que lo que lograrán es que estos fotografos con menos presupuestos irán oor modelos anteriores de segunda mano o nuevos que hayan disminuido los precios ; y esto en el mejor de los casos, en el peor emigran a otra marca. Me preguntó como se habrán comportado las ventas de la d7200 con respecto a la d7500 y cómo habrían podido compotarse sí la última hubiese tenido 2 ranuras. En fin pienso que es importante hacer un estudio de mercado más riguroso antes de proponer un producto evolutivo con un retroceso en un aspecto tan importante para muchos. En las opiniones de la Z6 y Z7 siempre sale a relucir como aspecto en contra su ranura única, lo mismo en las comparativa entre la d7200 y la d7500 a los fotógrafos casi no les molestó la falta de 4 mpx, sin embargo la falta de una segunda tarjeta muchas veces sí inclinó la balanza. ¿Acaso no aprenden la lección?
