Polaris Glacier Pro Plow 5 Year Review and use!
5 year review on my 2015 Polaris Sportsman 570 glacier pro 5' snow plow. If you are on the fence on buying a Polaris or a different machine, you must look how easy it is to get parts and accessories for the Polaris. The plow works great. You just have to keep up the maintenance on it like any other mechanical device. They made this setup Super easy!! If you have any questions about this plow comment and I will hopefully be able to answer your questions!
** Winch being used is a 3500lb steel cable, warn winch.

Just a little 4,000 pull to show you guys how it sounds. I had corsa racing mufflers with a kooks high flow cat H pipe but it sounded very throaty. I like this much better

Getting 450 n plow this fall. Got 3000 sq ft paved driveway. Looking forward to using it.. and not having to drag deer out by hand anymore 😉

I bought this setup for 2021. I'll have to say that after struggling with a MUD plow for 8 years, this setup is so much better. For '20+ at least, the machine frame comes with the studs already on it to install the plow frame. There is no bolt on push plate needed. The studs are way up front, just below and in back of the winch. To install, stick the ears on the plow frame on these studs, lift the plow up with the winch, and push down on the red handle. VERY easy. No swearing needed, unlike the MUD plow. Getting it back off is just as easy, and the bottom of the machine is flush, nothing to catch on the trails. My one complaint is that I have the steel blade version, and it has POLARIS heavily embossed in the blade. I'd prefer the blade to be smooth, but at the same time, it doesn't seem to effect the plowing much.

I live in Alaska and have the same plow on my bike, I put 3/4 in plywood side on mine (16 inch X however tall), made a scoop. It pushes sooooo much better with the sides. Good bike and nice video.

+Deerector if you have a polaris i would go with the glacier pro because it just fits the machine perfectly and it is a simple set up

+carter meade Thank you. I ordered my Quad today and got the Glacier Pro. I was going back and forth for two-three weeks but your straight to the point reply helped me decide! Even though I won't be using the plow till next winter, I just had to take advantage of really cheap financing 😉. Will let you know what I think after I pick the unit up.

I picked up a Sportsman 450EPS with a Glacier Pro (50" steel) setup a couple of months ago. It is a piece of cake to install and remove thanks to that frame-integrated mount! Much better than the mid-mount system I had on my last ATV. Some bad news, now, and then some good: I found out, after the fact, that the Glacier Pro mount system (at least for Sportsman ATVs) had gone through several iterations of design and construction. The first two were pretty crappy and had certain cheap components and/or weak welds that were very prone to breaking. I spoke with a repair shop employee, who showed me the evolution of the parts, as they had some broken ones in their shop. After inspecting the first couple of designs, I was left wondering just HOW they ever were allowed to escape the R&D process, and made it to manufacturing. Just looking at them, you could easily predict they were going to fail. Even when they didn't break (yet), some people even reported the mount system popping loose from the ATV frame during operation. Check UA-cam and online reviews, you'll find out fast about these problems. BUT... here's the GOOD news... These problems certainly seem to be a thing of the past. The Glacier Pro modular mount system has been on its third (or later?) revision for some time, it seems. Probably during late 2015 or early 2016, would be my best guess. And this time around, Polaris has apparently eliminated any performance issues and/or weak spots. As an owner, I can verify that everything on the current revision seems exceptionally heavy-duty, and well fabricated. Again -- this is just dumb luck on the timing -- not some sort of brilliant insight on my part. I just happened to need a new unit at the right time. I can happily state, there are no wussy-strength or badly-executed welds, and no lightweight frame materials on this revision. Check one out in person and judge for yourself; most Polaris dealers will have one you can inspect. It's also performed very well so far this winter, though a couple of wet/heavy snows as well as bulkier but lighter-weight ones. One last thought. My old ATV had a manual plow lift setup. For the new one, I got a Polaris winch (mounts easily right inside the frame! no additional winch mount required!), and the ATV has power steering. I WILL NEVER GO WITHOUT EITHER OF THESE FEATURES AGAIN! They both make a world of difference, when it comes to plowing snow. EDITED 2017-02-05, I'd spotted a few misspellings. Fixed 'em.

What winch do you have? I've had a couple different ones over the years. Looks like he only has to push one button, instead of pushing and holding it like I have to. Also. Your winch, raises and lowers so much faster than mine. If appreciate the name, brand, cost and where could I get one?? Great video. Thank you.
