Please, I don’t want to go to nursing school only to hear a bunch of people complaining about it

I have a BA in psychology, I did a direct entry RN, I love helping people but I decided to switch gears and step down to LPN. I may be going back for my RN after working 3 years as an LPN. Nursing is not for everyone, but if you were an RN then another option is LPN. There’s a lot of psychology in nursing to where I want to be a neuroscience/trauma nurse. My first clinical will be at a nursing home. Best to you ❤

this just showed up on my feed. I am nursing school atm (2/4 semesters ADN) I am just seeing it as a stepping stone for something else, but yes it is very hard. The pandemic made everyone think of their mental health and how important that is. TBH it's probably good you didn't continue bc a few months later pandemic would not be good for a nurse let alone ANY healthcare worker. I hope you are doing well on your journey and finding a job/career!

You definitely made the right decision if you hated it from the first clinical. I’ve been a nurse for 38 years and an NP for 32 years and there have been rough times, but I can’t say I ever felt like I hated it. In fact I have loved nursing and being a nurse everyday for almost 40 years. It’s a hard job, you can’t do it if you don’t love it. You deserve a career you love! There’s nothing to feel bad about!

You could've worked towards being a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and worked with the type of patients that you like. But it is what it is, I resonate with what you said about your dog. My cat passed away while I was doing a program in college and it fucked my mental state over...now I'm regrouping and doing psych nursing. I hope I can do it as well as I'm thinking and I find fulfillment in the job...what I like the most about nursing is how open-ended it is, there's so many options for workplace environments and stuff. But anyways, good luck and I hope you find happiness in life

I wish I had quit nursing school 15 years ago. I suffered so much, needlessly, because of nursing. I never got support, am being bullied at work to this day, never found my nurse peeps either. I feel it ruined my life.

I just got accepted into nursing school. Am suppose to start the program in August of 2024. Girl i feel your pain. I dont think nursing is for me. Nursing school is hard. Am thinking of becoming on occupational therapy assistant. I just want to save lives, but right now am i don't think nursing school is the right choice. I feel sad because my family is pushing me into nursing. 😭

i know this vid is old but thank you for posting. i dropped after 3 days of my second semester. I had anxiety before but man first semester ruined it for sure (mainly lab). it was fun learning something new but second semester was just gonna be ROUGH and we had sim lab coming up which made me nauseous. I know it probably sounds dumb but my anxiety was nooooo joke. just thinking that i would look like a failure terrified me. my instructor for medsurg also is a 1 star on rate my professor and i was not about to deal with her. It’s been so rough because i know they say it’s “okay” to them but i can tell my family is disappointed. i am too I guess. I’ve been hopping around majors trying to figure what i love. I was just 7 months from being done, but of course if my heart is not fully in it. it’s best not to have a career in it of course. i never had a passion truly for it but the fact that i haven’t finished a degree or even nursing school just keeps bringing me down:/ feel like a screw up to the family

I feel this so deeply. I’m close to graduating so I’m gonna collect the degree, pay off the little bit of debt I have, and then find something else. This profession is soul sucking (at least to me) and I applaud you for having the courage to leave.

You are white, just imagine us black students and nurses the things we have to go through. As a black nurse I had to be strong my children waited on this for 4 year BSN RN. Now is the same shit at work. I'm mentally drained ,I know im.not wellcome by charge nurses and one of the manager. I'm thinking to leave and find a more diverse hospital. I'm very depressed ,it does affect individual. And more of u know how you been doing yoir job.

It’s a breath of fresh air to hear your story because it reminds me I am not alone. I felt the same exact way you are describing during nursing school. I couldn’t get myself to continue on with it and if I’m not 100% in it I decided to withdraw. Now I’m trying to figure out what I really want to do career wise. Girl, I feel you. You are very smart for doing this! I felt all of this! I am quitting for these purposes. I feel sick getting ready to start clinicals. I did not like the labs. I was devastated that I was uncomfortable with it. I enjoyed everything in Nursing lectures, though. I tried to stay in. I lost my passion. I feel so relieved I am quitting and choosing a career path I can grow from. Thanks so much for sharing. ❤

I think maybe its because nurses dont find that balance in their lives. Why not try exercising everyday after or before work it might make you have a different outlook.

I’m currently about to go into third year of nursing school and every thing you’ve said and people have said in the comments is how I am feeling. All of this year I’ve just been saying I want to drop out over and over and I feel like it’s actually destroying me. you might have done better in a four year program. the accelerated course can be a little overwhelming but they have to do it like that so much stuff to get in and just two years to do it - and there are so many different things you can do once you pass NCLEX you can go as deep or shallow as you wish.

Hated it so bad went back to review skills free of charge teacher was cool

I went to certified nursing assistant program was really tough for me I failed my clinical then teacher said come back review skills Because of my learning disability was so hard passed clinical next round then I started the floor my mom told me just finish the program and did then I quit my job 4 weeks later .

Thanks for making this video. I’m on the verge of a mental breakdown every day because I got into nursing and i’m only in my first semester and it feels like I’m making a mistake. I feel like if I drop out it would be embarrassing and i’d be letting people down even though no one has helped me to this point and my own parents aren’t around to guide me. I chose nursing because I want to feel useful and make a difference in people’s lives and nursing is a stable job and I probably won’t ever have to worry about my financial status again. But I don’t want to be unhappy. And I’m scared i’m making a mistake that I will regret years from now and then have to start over. I’ve spent a lot of money already on school and I’m just really lost right now and don’t know what to do.

If it's not for you then best to leave before you waste your life on something you don't love. I'm almost finished with my second semester of the RN program and I'm a raging B****. I have no life and Im mad all the time, BUT I know that I love the field and I'm not letting go of my dream because that's all I've ever wanted. But God do I want to just quit and go back to living life. It crosses my mind literally 100 times a day.

If it is any consolation, your story has given me insight to maybe help others in your position. 2 questions: would a program prior to starting school would have helped you make a better decision about what a nursing program entails? Hello! So glad I fell upon your video! I recently made an appointment for this company but wanted to see how has your ring held up over the past couple of years?! I saw this company and fell in love with the rings but curious of the long term effect and the small warranty.

This is an old video I know but I really enjoyed it! I LOVE your ring!! I also LOVE Moissanite and I've heard a lot about this company. It is a huge downside that they only carry a 1 year warranty on their rings! Especially for the price. I own a ring that looks VERY similar but in white gold with a Moissanite certificate from Amazon so I paid way less and they have a warranty for about the same time length. The big difference is it's way cheaper to replace a $100-$200 ring versus a ring that's over $1000. Maybe as a dupe you could find one from Amazon to wear when you don't want to ruin or harm your beautiful engagement ring?!

Have u checked ur iron and VIT D levels? Sometimes those can cause hair loss if they are low. Also Try taking biotin, and make rosemary & mint water to spray in your hair. I hope that helps with your hair loss💕
