Sheet music available at lovebirdmusic.com/products/young-voices. This stunning fanfare is a take on the unsettled political climate of the US in 2018 and how it looks through the eyes of a young adult. Despite much confusion and conflict, it is empowering to see people my age who shout out and make their voices heard. This fanfare is a short portrait of youthful determination, and a celebratio...

Concert Band (Grade 3). During the Civil War, a group of infantry units from Wisconsin, Michigan, and Indiana came to be known as the “Iron Brigade” for their toughness and bravery. That respect, however, did not extend to the brigade’s band, who earned a different reputation… as the worst musical unit in the entire Union army. Their sad performance and discipline problems eventually forced the...

Heard a live performance of this in Taunton Minster a couple of weeks ago - brilliant! Had to hear it again to see how many references I could spot.
My favorite part is at 1:44 for sure
Sadly Bob Phillips has left Texas County Reporter
Why is there no good recording of version 2?
Man i need an isolated full version of the Waltz No 2 part, it sounds so good
What a beautiful song!❤
I always knew it by LBJ then I heard it when they started the Hill country reporter. Sadly I don't think it's played much outside of Texas.
My dad does recently. He loved this piece
A particularly well-filmed performance of feel-good music....
Completely charming! Always loved this! Now to find the music to “this week in baseball” and arrange that!
Love this, I love my Texas. Reminds me of my dad and grandad.
Having grown up on the East Coast, I only heard this song for first time a few months ago. I think this orchestra does it the best. Absolutely beautiful and uplifting melody. Texans have reason to be proud of this one for sure.
Texas, may you remain forever Based.
Willie Nelson does a version of this www.google.com/search?q=willie+nelson+texas+hill+country+them+theme&sca_esv=9ace15581ead379a&sxsrf=ACQVn0-na0krAY-C_Ssh_oLPHzOL8f0MBg%3A1706818037519&source=hp&ei=9fm7Zd7qHZfgkPIPqc6y8Ag&iflsig=ANes7DEAAAAAZbwIBcI7hMsIcb6_u3C2JMtqpnc5iHZ_&oq=willie+nelson+texas+hill+country+them%2Ce&gs_lp=Egdnd3Mtd2l6Iid3aWxsaWUgbmVsc29uIHRleGFzIGhpbGwgY291bnRyeSB0aGVtLGUqAggAMgcQIRgKGKABMgcQIRgKGKABSL-jAVAAWMCGAXAAeACQAQCYAagBoAH4HaoBBTIzLjE2uAEByAEA-AEBwgIKEC4YgAQYigUYJ8ICChAjGIAEGIoFGCfCAgQQIxgnwgIREAAYgAQYigUYkQIYsQMYgwHCAgsQABiABBiKBRiRAsICChAAGIAEGIoFGEPCAhQQLhiABBiKBRiRAhixAxjHARjRA8ICChAuGIAEGIoFGEPCAhcQLhiABBiKBRiRAhixAxjJAxjHARjRA8ICCxAAGIAEGIoFGJIDwgINEC4YgAQYigUYQxixA8ICEBAuGIAEGIoFGEMYsQMYgwHCAgsQLhjUAhixAxiABMICCBAuGIAEGLEDwgIIEC4YsQMYgATCAgUQLhiABMICCxAuGIAEGLEDGIMBwgIIEAAYgAQYsQPCAg4QLhiABBiKBRixAxiDAcICBRAAGIAEwgICECbCAgUQIRigAcICBRAhGKsCwgIFECEYnwU&sclient=gws-wiz
Better than No. 1, you can’t change my mind
it may be better but they are both my favorite christmas pieces to play and listen to
I remember playing this back when I was in the University of Texas Longhorn Band back in the 70's. Thanks for the memory.
Thank you Brenda!!!
Beautiful.
I played this hundreds of times, if not more, in the Berlin Brigade Band and later in the 1st Cav Band.
Thanks Dave. I always like listening to your arrangements.
Played this not too long ago, omg it was so fun to play this!
monkey business is a great circus march. playing it is such a joy
At long last, klezmer music for Christmas! Just kidding, but...
I always loved hearing the Army Band at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio play this song. When I was the Special Troops Battalion Executive Officer there many years ago I got to hear it often.
I woke up to this playing on PBS as a kid
1:11
Wow!
Late have I discovered this video/recording. I love it. One of the very best videos of the instrumentalists in performance. No complaints about the sound either. Stirring fanfare.
I will forever associate this with watching 4 Country Reporter (KDFW TV Channel 4) as a teenager in the 1970's. It brings back such fond memories. Great job on the performance!!!
You can still watch Bob do his thing throughout Texas. ua-cam.com/users/texascountryreporter
Bob just retired after hosting the show for 52 years. Unbelievable run.
Yep, 4 Country, then 8 Country and Texas country reporter! I had no idea that this was a willie Nelson song.
Awesome
Similar to minor alterations
::APPLAUSE::
I love the bass trombone in this recording so much!!!
Love this piece. So much fun to play!
The flute tunelet at 2:30 sounds really familiar to me. Is that a reference to some other piece of classical music?
It's by Shostakovich, Waltz #2 from the Jazz Suite and the Suite for Variety Orchestra

1:36- Let’s go listen to the people of 4 Country.
I’ve been searching for this. Our whole family went to UT Austin. My father and his brothers attended during the 30s. They were farm boys turned into physics majors. Lovely song…
Texas Our TEXAS..............So PROUD
As a native Texan who had to re-locate to California and is in the process of returning to Texas... AMAZING JOB... Loved this. :')
They actually improved this song...makes my pride swell so...thanks
My 2X great uncle served in the Iron Brigade (19th Indiana Vol Regiment) for 3 years. Wonder what was more dreadful to listen to, this or the sound of musket and artillery fire in battle? The only saving grace of this marching song is at the end when you hear the strains of the great “Battle Hymn of the Republic”.
Interesting piece of history! May I know what song is played on 3:04?
It is called "The Pope He Leads A Happy Life" - a popular song among German immigrant soldiers.
why was the audience laughing sometimes?
At the beginning, there was a reference to Peter and the Wolf that the audience laughed at. And then there was the thing with the mixing of Wagner's Flight of the Valkyries with O Holy Night, that they should have laughed at. Stunning actually.
@@tabhorian peter and the wolf and sorcerers apprentice, right?
"Dance of the marionettes" was the theme music to Alfred Hitchcock's TV show.
The way to have gotten a good laugh out of the audience for O Holy Night would be the entire horn section donning horned helmets before they started to play.
Because the clarinetist was playing a few bars of the "Alfred Hitchcock" theme. Just to show how talented this composer is the way he fit that theme in the middle of a Christmas song!
We are playing this Saturday very excited!
Alright bro it’s been five years. How’d it go?
Playing this on sunday, can’t wait!
@@abyssomega5177 GO GO GO GO GO
Been 6 years but how was it?
Beautiful
You’re right, Dr. Phil from two years ago.
Away in a manger 😥
More like away in a banger
Love this.. I truly hope it gets the publicity it deserves! :)
