I love my bonnet but I typically wear the bonnet wit the flat edges as opposed to the ruffled edges/elastic. I noticed awhile back that the ruffled edges/elastic were causing a lot of tension on my fine and fragile hairline.

I’ve tried to tell people this! That elastic band around your hairline is NOT your friend. Was wondering why my edges kept breaking because I don’t wear wigs or braids. Now they’re flourishing! If you pull it too far over your forehead you end up with stress lines and wrinkles on your face. No bueno!

You should say extension braids

I always let my bonnet rest on my forehead and not the actual hair or my hair lining.

simple silk scarf. no elastic.

I only use my fingers to comb my natural for over 1 year. My hair is so healthy n I have gain a lot of length retention. You have to have a lot of patience tho. However what work for me may not work for you 💚

You should place Sheabutter or a moisturizer on the extension hair so the extension hair will not be so hard to your natural hair. Extension hair is made of plastic.

Happened to me. It wasn't necessarily the cause. As my scalp and hair was already inflamed. The bonnet and hair wraps i used just made it worse. Once i figured out the cause i made the necessary changes. I now wear bonnets that don't rub on my edges or cause that hair loss and inflammation. My hair has regrown thank God.

I think you might be right. My hair line has been receding to the point where I started wearing my bonnet close to my brows Cous I started seeing my nkare my hairline is reciding. I also wear caps and hats which might be contributing.

Hello, I did try using my fingers only, but it didn't work for me. My hair got so tangle. I am now using wooden combs to comb my hair every other week. Great topic to cover. 🙂

Great advice. I am mostly type 3 and I also don't use combs for 4-6 months and then use a comb. One of those months I had MAJOR knots that were hard to get out because my hair is bleached, so the line of demarcation knotted up badly! But I did get it out and now I comb slightly more often. Maybe once every 3 months or so.

I'm a new subscriber. I'm enjoying your videos❤ I want to ask how do you recognise split ends on natural hair? I'm also stubborn with cutting "split ends" but I don't even know if I have them. I feel like my ends are normal and I might be wrong. I don't even remember recognising splits in my ends, ever😂 Maybe include this question on your next video 🙏
