Переглядів 11 тис.3 роки тому
DIY dirt bike repair. Budget friendly repairs done right. This video explains what to do if you have bought or own a motorcycle with a kickstarter that has been welded.
Will this fix apply to worn or damaged splines on the shaft?
If the shaft splines are damaged then no. You will have to remove the shaft. Don’t sweat it! It’s not that bad
Great and educational video! Its good to se someone with experiance for once in a while
I have this problem on a bike but this will just let the kick-start slip round won't it? What's stopping it?
Great video 👍👌
I have a 1973 Yamaha GT-MX80A that is missing the kick starter. The previous owner had apparently, allowed it to come loose on the splined shaft and attempted a repair by drilling a hole through the shaft at the spline to add a bolt. This weakened that end of the spline and it broke off with the kick starter. Parts for this old motorcycle are extremely hard to find, so I thought that I would obtain a generic kick starter from an online source, and weld it on. After watching your video, I am rethinking my repair, possibly, somehow, without welding. But, I think that my options are few. Thanks for this video.
Nice job but I don’t understand how it’s fix the slips of the kickstart on the shaft ? What I am missing here. Most of the problems that bring us to weld is is that the splines are not hold the kickstart any more …please explain…tnx
I dont understand either. How does this fix worn splines? How is this shaft held on to begin with? Nice work but...
