Even before Guitar Hero... "guitar hero" was just something they would call Josh Homme
Such a badass show, been a fan since they were on guitar hero had no idea how good they sounded live.
In Josh's younger days he would have walked off the stage with this dead crowd. Instead Josh said " I'm going to be honest you guys are a pretty good audience..." Despite the mellow crowd Qotsa played wonderfully!!!
It's exhausting to be 48 and expected to scream constantly for an hour lest the musician feel unappreciated. 🤷
I know they don't exactly own the idea that they are "Stoner Rock", but the reality is that they are a band you can thoroughly enjoy without acting like the Beatles just walked in stage. Personally, I danced like a madman for most of the night. But there indeed were moments that I just stared in amazement, moments I just sat and closed my eyes, and moments I talked to my friend about how great the show was going. This was one of the best shows I've ever seen, and I think the crowd was fully satisfied
