    Hey, could you please describe the colour of the red version? There are very few people who bought the red version and it looks different where ever I look. On the Lumix website it looks straight up like a brick, so more deep orange then red. Yours looks like a slightly deeper red, a true red, all the other colours are muted and have a cold undertone so you would assume that this is also a muted cool red, the website describes it as crimson which can mean a lot of things and the colour selection toggle on the website is almost berry coloured… I am thinking about getting the red or the green one, but I hate orange reds so please help me!

    • @themuzemedia
      @themuzemedia 17 днів тому

      hey! Yah of course - totally understand hahah I use minimal color grading in this video so the red that you see is pretty much identical to what it is in person. I would describe it as old brick red - not berry colored at all. But its funny, in some light it looks like muted cool red and in other light I find it to be slightly orange red. No wonder you're confused - it's a very unique color of red haha If I were to put a color code to it, I would say it's close to #901E1E

    The only real plus of this camera is that Panasonic manages to get FF sensors stabilized a lot better than the competitors. That is really nice. I would like my A7R III to be that stable when filming 4K. However, alone for the handling (= the non-existent grip), it's a no for me. If you think about it just a minute, the joke about this is that as soon as you attach any lens, the loss of the grip isn't even saving size anymore so there is no point in not having it. It just gives bad ergonomics. Both lenses shown in the video are easily 3x the size of a standard-sized grip so I don't really know what Panasonic intended there. Makes no sense at all. Somehow this camera looks like a desperate attempt to make an even more radical version of Sony's A7C just that it didn't really work out because you lose so much. For me, it's the 'golden raspberry' award here for Panasonic :D If I were to upgrade from a smartphone, I would probably rather start with APS-C. Full frame is quite a bit more expensive and not necessary in every situation. If it was just for hobby, I'd stick to ZV-E10 Mk 1, if it was a more advanced approach I would go for a6700 which gives you everything that you don't get with the S9 at a lower price.

    • @TopshelfJunior
      @TopshelfJunior 3 місяці тому

      I shoot the S9 + the 50mm 1.8 and it's no issue at all. The Smallrig grip on it as well, handling is superb. Also have the Sigma 45mm, lens is pretty small TBH. Most fun I've had with a camera in a LONG time, and getting great results.

      I can agree about the non-existen grip. I don't know why they chose to omit that. BUT once I put the Smallrig grip on (after making this video), it felt a lot more ergonomic in my hand. For me.. the unmatched stabilization, full frame sensor, compact size, and custom LUTs feature are all worth it. It all depends on what you need at the end of the day. Different strokes for different folks!

    As someone that shoots multiple Brands for paid events. The S9 is one of those cameras that when the light bulb comes on for you personally… the justification is immediately 😂 and you’ll just know. I shoot Events with multiple S5 II yet I was in the market a “Fun” camera for personal stuff with the Family. Since purchase… I’ve use the S9 for 1. Personal Travel Capture and real time sharing straight of memories. I grab for this thing like it’s my wallet 😅 2. Use as an additional Angle for 2 Wedding Ceremonies (Connected to my Atomos Ninja V) got an hours and 37 minutes until the Camera battery ran out. 3. Out Capturing Anamorphic B-Roll for a Film I’m working on. 4. Grabbing Fun Pictures & Video anywhere, not thinking about when I’m going to get to edit these and get them shared. The S9 is a special little camera that I think Marketing dropped the ball on. But I also think it’s our fault as well, I went back and looked at the Official Press direct from LUMIX, the never said this was targeted for Photographers. Everything was about Content Creators. So no hot shoe for flash, no evf, no mechanical shutter although the price could have been $300 less, it was only misleading because of the people’s pre-expectations. The S9 is clearly not for everyone, we all have different needs. The comments since release about LUMIX dropped the ball.. is one of those statements where it’s easier to realize, this is “Not my cup of tea” & move on. Most used lens on S9 that has impressed me. Great rundown of the features, pros and cons! I like the example shots you're sharing and the real-life use scenario to show us what it's like. I really want to like this camera. I have a Sony A7C and the idea of having a similarly sized camera with awesome IBIS for vlogging sounds super appealing to me. Shooting vlogs with the A7C makes it look like I'm walking in constant earthquakes. The only thing keeping me from getting the S9 is the fact that once you put a lens on it, it get's big which negates the size advantage, and the 15 minute recording limit (because I'd like to use it to record UA-cam videos, too!). There's also the fact that you can get a new/used S5ii around $1500 nowadays and it'll be better balanced with the size of the lenses and it won't have any of the limitations the S9 has...

    • @themuzemedia
      @themuzemedia 3 місяці тому

      @@yousefcreative yah, totally understand! I think this camera is in a very unique position when it comes to the scope of content creators. It works for some, but definitely not everybody. I was actually looking for some smaller lenses recently, for the exact same reason as you. And Sigma makes a few that I’m considering. For me, the record limit isn’t a huge deal. When I make these UA-cam videos, I’m not usually talking for 15 straight minutes, so stopping and hitting record again wouldn’t be out of the ordinary. Their biggest selling point, I think, is the app and how customizable the LUTs are. It’s a really cool feature but not practical for everyone. So far it’s been working great as a travel camera and for my short form video content. But if you’re somebody looking for an all around workhorse, this wouldn’t be it.

    Very nice - and I loved the consistency and precision of the comparisons. I think that I'd check out something in between if I could like the Sigma f/1.4 Art. For me (retired product photographer), the EF just does not have the clarity wide open to get the job done. It's nice, but it's just not quite there. On the other hand, I shot thousands of commercial images with an EF 100mm f/2.8 macro that I bought used for $300 on e-bay. LOL - and you'd be surprised how close that 20 year old lens is to the RF 100mm f/2.8 L macro today. It loses out on contrast, but not on sharpness! And, it's well within the capability of a quick tweak in lightroom to make the two look essentially indistinguishable. Another interesting comparison is how crisp the RF f/1.2 is wide open vs. the EF f/1.8. Of course the background will be far more blurred and separated by the RF lens, but how IS the quality of the detail? In the past, I've typically gone with the f/1.4 50mm lenses on the theory that, when stopped down to f/1.8, they're going to handily outperform an f/1.8 lens run wide open.

  • @TomKirkemo-l5c
    @TomKirkemo-l5c 5 місяців тому

    But is it 2000 USD sharper?? And will anyone who is running around with a phone really know the difference?? I don't like the EF 50 1,8. I have one....I don't have the money for the 1,2. So I have an EF 50 1,4. I don't use 50mm much anyway. I almost use just a Sigma 24-105 F4 ART or an EF 85 1,8. I only shoot portraits. And FF DSLR's. Can't afford newer bodies...but it works. :)

    no, I suggest not to invest in the RF. True, it is the better quality lense. But the price, weight and size doesn't justify what occurs in the bottom line of the calculation: the result between the nifty 50 and the Rf lense is marginal. Offtopic: instead RF 50mm, go all in and select the RF 28-70 mm f2.

    I bought the RF50 1.2 a couple of months ago. It's literally my favorite lens ever. Haven't taken it off the camera more than once since I got it. If I want something closer to the 85mm, I use the in camera crop factor which essentially renders an 80mm... close enough to 85 in my book without spending $2700 more to get there. 🙂

      I used to have that issue on a DSLR. Using the lens with a mirrorless made the focus perfect.

    Very educational video! But I'd look for a cheaper lens considering the results.

    Good for you, happy to see you are out on your own. This video really shows your passion and drive. Really looking forward to the upcoming videos, especially the "how to work with your subject" ones. That is something I struggle with so it will be very helpful.

    Thank you! I think the 1.8 would get a sharper if stepped down a bit, just like the 1.2 was stepped down. For the sharpness comparison only, mind. . But of course and hopefully at that price difference the RF will still be sharper….

    Are you gonna try the RF50 1.8?

    I wonder if color remains the same after adjusting with gray card... Would be an interesting test...

    if you are spending over $2000 it would be sensible to examine different L lens focal lenths to make sure the first lens you buy will give you the most use and thanks i loved watching this as well

    I realize you have history with the EF 50mm f/1.8, but I would have preferred you compare with the newer Canon RF 50mm F1.8 STM. From all reports, it appears to have much better autofocus and optics.

    Def dont buy an EF Lens if your on RF. They make the same lens but RF. I got one for $97. Of course Unless you have more EF glass. Use that 100 to get another cheap lens or ND filter

    You don't test it at f1.2 ? I understand it's interessant to have a 1.8 vs 1.8 comparison but why not show a pic or 2 at 1.2?

    Just came across your channel. Very professional, and of course your image is a sight for sore eyes. :) BUT, may I respectfully suggest that you "upgrade" from the mediocre DJI Wireless Mic to some decent mic setup? (and audio recorder). There are a TON to chose from, but I would recommend either a Rode or Sennheiser or Shure e.g. Rode NT5 or Rode Pod Mic USB and a Sound Devices MixPre 3 Mk ii recorder. This will make your videos sound much more professional. Anyway, have a wonderful day and keep on creating...
