I bought an older set of p790s from this little mom and pop golf store. They were used clubs and I got them for a steal. I have this feeling they are not real. I have no issues with 8, 9, PW. But every club with the taylormade speed slot feels weird. Even when I middle them, they don’t really go far. Every club has a serial number. Idk. I might just suck but I have never had issues with hitting a 7 iron until now. Would love to find out. They are the first black p790s that ever came out. I wanna say 2018, 2019

Thanks for the video Stevie! Have you tried this with Golf Pride Tour Wrap 2G grips? I tried this last night with 2 wraps of masking tape on a Cobra driver shaft, and I got a lot of twisting on the butt end of the shaft. Basically no twisting further down the shaft. I wonder if this grip in particular is just too slick on the inside for this method to work? Fortunately, removing the grip using air on a non-double sided tapped shaft is a breeze!

How does the trip stick to the tape if it’s not double sided?

BE CAREFUL! NOT ALL GRIPS CAN BE INSTALLED USING COMPRESSED AIR METHOD!! I've been regripping golf clubs using compressed air from a compressor or tire inflator. Either one works when installing grips that can be installed with air. Grips you cant install using air: Dri-Tac, Dri-Tac 2.0, SuperStroke, basically any grip which has an inner rubber lining with sn outer rubber grip material. If trying to regrip using these types of grips, the grips can explode because the air builds up under the inner rubber lining. Also if this happens and youre in an enclised space, if you dont have hearing protection this can do a number on your hearing.

Got fitted yesterday and the Oban devotion 6 was what worked. Tried 9/10 shafts and the oban was by far the most consistent for me. Distance was much the same between shafts but dispersion was the major difference

Ya very sorry to hear about that. Felt so bad for u watching the video. Like u I can't afford new clubs so have to buy 2nd hand so scary to think u can spend 500 600e (which is still alot of money) and end up with fake clubs

I don't understand... If ordinary masking tape is good enough to hold a grip on, why does anyone bother with double side tape and solvent? And why use masking tape at all?

I have the real ones and the face milling is so much tighter and you really need to look hard to see it. The light hits it and makes the face look marked. You’re right with the logo. It’s more bubble like on mine. No words for folk who do this. Locked in a room with victims is the only way.

I think this is a "weight" comparison. I have 55g, 60g and 70g shafts that suit different course/ weather conditions. My normal gamer is the hzrdus smoke yellow in 60g hence watching the video. 85g is a hybrid typically...but play what you like.... Need to shape the shot though..

I've been using air for some time now also. I absolutely encourage you to use masking tape when applying the grip with air instead of applying the grip directly to the shaft. The reason is that if you want or need to remove the grip, it is much, much simpler with air when there is tape underneath the grip. That is even more important if you are installing/removing standard size grips as opposed to mid-size. Standard grips without tape will have a tendency to bubble up or even blow out. This guy must also be single since he was re-gripping his clubs on his kitchen counter. :)

I have the 55 degree and I love it once you get used to the heaviness and the distance.

Very useful. My grandson had his driver regripped but because he is autistic he can see that it wasn't quite aligned properly. Whilst I could cut and remove, then regrip it for him I don't really want to waste a perfectly good quality grip. Very happy to see this and will try it to see if I can save and realign it. Thank you.

How are you finding having a heavier shaft in the driver vs. fairway woods? I have a similar set up - 70g in Driver then 65g in 3 and 5 wood
