Hello!! My name is Jes Marie... a wife, mother, closet Chef, Amateur Gardener and DIY-er. On this channel I am sharing my favorite recipes, growing a garden, DIY’ing a She-Shed, building everything inside (including the furniture), and opening my life and family up to the world. Girls can build stuff too!!
I absolutely love to cook and entertain friends and family. Holiday decor, picnics and wine are my absolute fav. I am married to an amazing man that swept me off my feet at our very first glance and am the mother of two beautiful children and 2 fur babies, that keep me on my toes.

My She Shed

Finally, the highly requested She Shed video. I am so very proud of this project. I purchased this building as a shell. My husband and I did all the electrical work (with the help of our electrician friend), insulated the building, put up all the drywall, ceiling panels, painted, installed the A/C unit, and laid down the wood floors. We even framed, cut down and installed the custom French door...

I think your “she shed” is wonderful. You have a place for everything even a spare bedroom…I have only one preference (must have)…otherwise the “spare” bedroom is of very little use. you much still be “young” because, as I have aged (68yo) one of the most important things in a separate space like this is running water for a flush toilet or just a composting toilet…I could not imagine needing to use the bathroom in the middle of the night and having to climb down the stairs…and either go into the building next door or in the house, or clean up a mess because I couldn’t make it in time….A bathroom (if only consisting of a toilet and sink) or a full bathroom with a shower would be a total must for me. Could be added on the back with the deck…

Not quite sure. I just got the basic beadboard from Home Depot. It was pretty inexpensive.

Excellent office shed/guest place. Love how it us organized and has different areas. I would turn the music down during your narration. It was quite distracting because of the volume. But love your soothing voice! Great job!

So I love this 💕 Is this a shed you can purchase at Home depot? What was your final cost?
I am in the process of doing an actual home shed, which I bought at a shed lot. It's the same as the Home Depot sheds but bigger. I paid $20,000 for a 16x36 foot shed with two lofts (one loft has a set of stairs, the other has a ladder), two doors (one regular door and one set of French doors) and 8 windows. It cost an additional $3K for electrical (that's connecting to the main house line, but I have my own electric meter), $8K for plumbing, and 10K for the concrete slab they put it on. Then there's flooring, insulation, drywall, counters, cabinets etc. I am expecting it to cost about $60K total, which is pretty good for a nice home. It has a 50 year warranty, but I have spoken to the people who build the sheds and they say they are built to the same standards as permanent homes. They said as long as you maintain everything and replace the roof and siding as needed, it will basically last indefinitely, just like a regular home.
I paid $6500 for the base of the shed. After everything I did, I spent like $14K total.
