how to bend wood for table leg
Переглядів 3265 місяців тому
Welcome to today's show. Today I am making a table leg by bending some quartersawn oak. I made a jig then I cut the piece that I wanted to use into 1/8 inch strips. To bend the wood I soaked the pieces in water for an hour or so and then I clamped them in the jig. I let them dry over night and then I glued the pieces together and let left them in the jig for another 24 hours. I trimmed them up ...

That is a cool coat rack. Your grandson must be very happy. :)
great design
Nice job
If you want to build it yourself just google for WoodPrix. I know you will find good solutions for all your ideas.
Looks like it would work better, if you had the drill mounted. That way it won't bounce around all over the place. Probably want to make a funnel-like chute to direct the foam into the rotating screws and something to push the foam down with safely, similar to a meat grinder.
@complexcat1742. You are correct that it needs some improvements and thanks for the suggestions. I have put that project on the backburner for awhile but I hope to get back to it soon. Thanks for watching. Roger
@themanitobaman1964 Seems like the older I get, the more projects collect on the back burner. I've now got enough back burner projects to last me the rest of my life, I think. 😆
Im planning on getting a compass soon but afraid it might demagnetize. If this work I will be very happy!
How do you put the thread ? I just got mine and don’t know where the thread goes through???
@eliva409, There should have been some fine thread that was included with the machine, you can follow that. This is how my thread is. From the thread spool take the thread from the top and push it through the middle hole in the big arm close to the middle nut. Take the thread between the spring loaded washers, then straight across to the little ring at the front, put the thread in from the bottom and go up to the ring at the top above the hollow pipe for the needle. You will need to push a stiff wire up from the needle. Tie the thread to the stiff wire and pull the tread down towards the needle. Then thread the needle from the front to the back. I hope this helps you. Roger
An innovative but affordable synthetic leaf thatch solution that mimics the natural texture and 3D shape of a fan/lute palm leaf and adds durability and flame retardancy
Yeah mine probably wont have a thatched roof because I live in Alaska and it'd be a total nightmare in the winter. 😂 If it's just bare metal then no need for a tarp. I know it kinda kills the vibe.
super smart
That looks like a great idea.
Thank you! I wasn’t sure how to cut mine
One good tip to know is never have the camper plugged into your truck when you are plugged into power.
is it solar powered?
This model isn't solar powered, but Momentum has lots of solar powered models. I am going to be ordering the Momentum Steelix Eclipse, solar powered one next. Thanks for watching.
Yep, this works. Thanks to you, i have two reworking compasses. These compasses aren't the kind you have, but are the small water based ones you get on a survival whistle or key chain. They are pointing in the right direction to the accurate compass
I am glad that I could help. Thanks for watching.
Thank you 🙏🏻
Looks like a cool idea.
was it really reset? putting compasses side by side to compare is not useful as they will impact each others direction while they sit together
redf7209: When I took it out in the bush the next time it seemed to be working fine. Thanks for watching.
very nice simple and practical
That looks like a great idea.
I really love my machine, I think they are so user-friendly easy to modify and customize.
Looks pretty good. I found a lot of curved lumber sold as planks and 2x4s in Brandon last time I went to build a simple bookshelf 😂
Really nice work
Thank you! Cheers!
Great looking legs.
I just installed the same pump. I have no idea either how or if you can change it to Celsius. I will it would show temperature coming in and temperature going out.
You can change it to show Celsius but I forget how right now. I will let you know when I figure it out again. The temperature shows the water temperature coming into the heater and it will shut down when the water coming in reaches the set temperature. Thanks for watching , I will get back to you.
@@themanitobaman1964 thanks for the reply and help. I have had it running for about a day now. I would have thought it would heat faster. The instructions really are useless.
@@chrisclark239 It takes a little longer to heat up the pool than a regular heater but it is much more efficient . I have been averaging about $125 per year for the last couple of years. I also use the timer feature so that it doesn't run all night. If I remember correctly holding the up and down arrows at the same time should switch it to Celsius, but I'm not certain.
@@themanitobaman1964 thanks again for the reply. It it’s working great now after about 4-5 days. I finally got it off the timer mode as I just want it to run and shut off when the temperature is achieved. I have my pump on a timer so no need for another timer setting on the heat pump. I will try the arrows.
Thanks manitoba
Thanks for the tip . Keep up the good work.
Just bought a seiko turtle and like the strap but it’s too long. It’s got a curved end which is the same circumference as a one penny coin. Think I’ll clamp it to work bench and trim with a new blade in my knife.
Thank you 😂 , I never would've figured it out
Do you have a magnetic ring on your compass
No I don't believe the ring on this compass is magnetic. Thanks for watching. Roger
Yo tengo una igual pero quisiera saber cómo consigo el instructivo para poder usarla si alguien me puede ayudar porfavor
Nena. Do you want to put the captions on in Spanish starting around 5:56, maybe that will help you. Thanks for watching. Roger
Thank you Mr. White
Bought some Reflectix from Home Depot, has a problem, the plastic air bubbles are made with thin & weak plastic, when I put my knee on the pad the bubbles pop rendering it useless. Have you had any experience with the Heavy Duty 5/16 Reflectix pad.
I just rolled a piece out on my floor and kneeled on it with both knees. I didn't hear or feel any popping. It is worth a try. I hope this helps . Thanks for watching.
Than you very much 👏
Good idea, but you can tape it with foil tape and tie it together with a bungee cord
That's good idea as well. Thanks for watching.
Hey dude this is cool , thanks for the video giving me ideas! 🤙🏽👏🏽✨
Roger said this mattress ended up not working for the wife because of the memory foam. The Logan and Cove Frontier mattress probably would have been good for her but I don't think it was yet available two years ago. I felt a little push-back from the foam for the first five days but after that it felt great.
😂 Promo-SM
Looks great. Thank you for posting.
Well done video! You said you thought it might be goat hide...what's the color of that piece. It's really gorgeous! Could I ask you where you bought it? 😊
Hello . I think it is a tan brown. I was given this piece from a older gentleman in town who was clearing out of his leather. Sorry I couldn't help but there is probably something available at your local leather shop. Thanks for watching.
@@rogercurrie Thank you, Roger, I have a couple of pieces of "glazed goat" similar to that color from Maverick leather. I live in a very small town in Virginia and just down the road in Lynchburg there is an enormous leather warehouse (Moore & Giles) that caters to large companies like airlines and auto companies, but sadly we have no local leather retail shop like a Tandy. Moore and Giles used to have monthly remnant sales, but some customers started fighting over the scraps and they discontinued the sales. Fortunately, there are a lot of online companies that sell to hobbyists and small operators. Thank you for sharing your expertise! 😊
Hi Could you please show how to thread machine many thanks Harry
Harry. I will do a video about threading the machine in the near future . Thanks for the idea. Roger
Yes pleass
There is a couple videos about threading this machine already on UA-cam. Type “Chinese leather shoe patching machine” in the search box. I got mine a few months ago and have found lots of good help/advice in the videos available here.
Hi, you are doing well. Your channel content is also good. But your video title, video tag, channel tag, video description, and channel description are missing. If you fix these then your video views and subscribes will increase. Through this, you will get monetization and earn. Your video will appear in the top search results.
Thanks for the tip. I have been meaning to try some of those things in the future. Thanks for watching.

I'm glad to help. Let me know how it works for you. Thanks for watching.
did you see the back of this...something sticking out in wrong place...seriously how can a squished mattress be any good?
We ended up returning the mattrass and getting one from Costco. Thanks for watching.

I bet your daughter really appreciated this puzzle board. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, do you know if it is possible--shop or home--to have a back up camera WIRED IN--not wireless, with a wire?
I looked at my GPS and it doesn't seem to be another outlet to plug a camera in. some models come with a backup camera but I'm not sure which models have that.
Several of the Garmen navy systems designated which back up cameras connect, the model 40 for example, fits with many, if not most. But that connection is wireless, which I DON'T want--at all. I'll talk to Garmin tech support tomorrow, and see if any of em allow hard wire connection. I know it is done--look at any new car today, they arrive with a back-up camera, hard wired in. I know that because after 8 years, the Subaru's back up camera has never required a battery change, and nor has the picture ever failed when I put her in reverse. @@themanitobaman1964
That is nice work. It must be the nicest wood shed in the neighbourhood .
Looked better before. Also tile doesn’t match as it returns on the sides
