3:13 Kungfu is Chinese 🤡
I remember watching this year's ago, I was so impressed and shocked with how the Korean schools teach 💯 think I'm going to watch again great documentary 👏🏻
What is GCSE?- 13:49
football is the universal language. the welsh flag = Gareth Bale :)
We have a similar system here in Japan but not as rough. There comes a point where the government needs to step in and allow children to be children, not teenage salarymen.
HI GOOD MORNING TIME TO READ ANS SEE U SEATING QUETLY AND A CUP OF SOFT DRINK IF ITS POSSIBLE WHATS YOUR FAVOURITE SONG WELL I DONT HAVE TIME NOW DO U WANT OR ARE U WELL AWRE OF THE CRIMINAL REPORT PLUS EMPLYMENT NO..OK
2024
I rly think I would have failed every single class in this Korean school system…
Can we get one of those statues here so we can also pray? Unfair religious advantage here, I can't believe no one is with me on this???
As if three days could actually make them understand anything apart from the long hours.
Has a follow up with all the kids been done?
"everyone on social media" *i wish i was more disciplined and didnt spend so much time on dumbtok* Literally a culture that creates discipline from day one: "HOW DARE THEY!!!"
I cant believe the hate that korean schools/education receive. Any video i watch its non stop. And its no mystery "why they are so much better" because they arent caught up with being PC or woke or any other BS that has gotten into every school system around the globe.
I wonder what they are doing these days? And if they kept in touch with the other students when they went home
This was an awesome experience. I wish this could be done with more children and different countries. If Wales thinks they are behind, imagine here in the USA (embarrassing to say the least). And a free lunch until age 16, here in the US, they are putting an end to elementary school free lunches. It is extremely sad.
I think it’s wonderful to have a standard of working hard.
The guy in a cast still writing to the best of his ability. Never would have seen this in Canada. They would always get you another person to write. Guess I see why we are truly over spoiled haha
most important is our children happiness not certificates
Not necessarily the best way for kids to study so much. Free time has its role in human development.
"more than 99% of korean students choose to stay in school after they turn 16" me: wait, you can choose to stay in school?
korean nerd: i feel intimidated, its time to use the asian skill, upside down piano playing with my eyes closed cuz i cant see when im upside down
Interestingly, I have never heard of how good the South Korean education system is. Imagine, its best university in the country is not even ranked among top 100 worldwide. Last time I've checked, the top high schools in Asia are mostly in China, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Japan. And naturally, these places all have some highly ranked universities.
My son is a English teacher in Korea. Some students as young as 5 are still at school at 9:00p,m at night. They also have the highest suicide rate in the world.
They did NOT sample Kung Fu Fighting at the beginning 💀
The fact that South Koreans can or has to study till 11pm/12am, in a way I respect them since they wanna have a successful future, but at the same time it does make me feel really bad for them since they don't seem to get any time to rest or at least time for themselves.
Now Korea banning children staying in hagwon after 10 pm.... After 10pm, all student must go home from hagwon....
I'm a student attending the school in that video. I think the reason why those parents only make their children study is because they did it when they were students. At that time, most Koreans could get wealth and status as much as they studied hard. Because it was the only way. So they still think that studying is the only way to live a rich life and make their children believe so. It worked for a small number of students, but unfortunately, the rest of them often waste their youth obsessing to study hard and get into a top university even as adults.
They study like robots for all of their childhoods, only to end up working at low paying jobs for 14hrs a day, 6 days a week. They don’t ‘live’, they merely ‘exist’.
The UK education system can't even come close to how sHiTy it is in North America
순수한 외국인들의 지옥 체험기
I feel like In many Asian families, the kids are like the horses and the parents are the Jockeys
2.56mins in, my thoughts :) In South East Asia an education is seen as a ticket to move up the social ladder. In UK, social non existent. UK is a racist and classist country. No matter how well you do at school, social mobility is rare. So little incentive to work hard at school
Is not important how much time you spend on learning but what you learn and I don't believe that they learn other stuff in school than the rest of use. Math is the same in every country. Except the rest of the world don't depend so much on gadgets we like to use the brain When do you eat dog😂😂😂
I find it extremly funny how this whole video is made for us to see how much we have to improve our education system while completely missing the point that it the problem is that we are tought useless stuff. Nothing about laws, the economy, insurance banking. Only if you are smart enough to specialise early on the general education we recieve is utter trash.
Tough, we call tell😜
Hahaha, they were sleeping in the class even the camera on. The handwriting of the teacher is real nice.
But really its so dangerous like how many hours they don't even having proper sleep and their life oh god
Iam so late to watch this but its really interesting
❤❤you are vital 🤤❤🤗❤
As motivated and smart Korean people are, I don't think my people fully understand the importance of a good quality sleep for efficiency.
Change
Ya'll...the Kung Fu Fighting song....geezus.
There should be a balance. To be honest school is not a popularity contest and the purpose of school is to learn so playing and talking in the classroom shouldnt be allowed anyway. However students should be encouraged to express ideas and learn to critically think. The after school private program is ridiculous. This should bw necessary only 1x week if a student is struggling with a subject
8 is an early start??? cries in starting school at 5 am
WHY'D YOU CHOOSE KUNG FU FIGHTING AS A BACKGROUND MUSIC HAHAHAAAHA THEY AIN'T CHINESE
Cracked up with oppa gangnam style. 2016 was a wild year.
Fascinating docu! Although a bit flawed: The poor Welsh students had no time to adjust and get rid of their jetlag, and 3 days is way too short. Anyways: It concerns me when the presenter said that the UK still has a lot of catching up to do. I don't think this level of studying, literally NO spare time, high suicide rates.... is anything you want to strive for? I live in NZ with two primary school aged boys and NEVER would I put them through this. They still need to be kids, have freedoms, roam the bush, meet friends. That doesn't mean they can't get a proper education.
very flawed for sure. 3 days and jetlag a sample size does not make. though the Welsh kids probably enjoyed their time when they look back. i think the choices to focus on math and science is asia is a very pragmatic as governments strive to improve STEM industries to complete on a global capitalistic scale. that said, not everyone is or should be cut out for STEM either. i think Welsh headmaster had a more balanced opinion, the answer probably lies between the korean system and the welsh.
..only 50% of welsh people stay in school after they turn 16?
so 50% of Welsh kids are high school dropouts?!? i refuse to believe this
I wish schools in America would be this good and this strict. The kids here are so disrespectful and lazy. There are some good ones but, man I am so impressed with the education system in Korea. Wow.
Those Korean kids sure work hard. I am very impressed with them. I think they have a lot of pressure on them too. I am fascinated by their culture.
Imagine recommending Dark Souls for preventing Alzheimer's at local eldercare.
