Lifestyle Medicine for SCAD Patients -- Dr. Sahar Naderi
At the 2024 Sanger SCAD Conference and Patient Symposium, Sahar Naderi, MD, MHS, FACC, a cardiologist and Director of Women's Heart Health at Kaiser Permanente, San Francisco, CA, discussed important issues related to post-SCAD recovery and healthful living to improve quality of life.
Dr. Naderi has expertise in conditions that disproportionately impact women and/or are unique to women’s cardiovascular health, specifically Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD), as well as cardiovascular complications in pregnancy. She is a SCAD Alliance adviser and member of the iSCAD Registry Steering Committee, as well as principal investigator of the iSCAD site at Kaiser Northern California.
The second annual Sanger SCAD Patient Symposium took place on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Atrium Health Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute in Charlotte, N.C. Hosted in partnership with SCAD Alliance, the symposium offered educational sessions led by SCAD experts, as well as breakout sessions for patients and family members.

As a SCAD survivor of 20 years I have been waiting for this information for two decades because I could find nothing to explain my artery dissection and my doctors despite many tests could offer no constructive help either. I now know what happened to me and feel somewhat reassured there are others with the same experience. I am one of the lucky ones - now 70 still healthy and no further issues.
