The reason i didn't support the Kickstarter is because ethically, i started seeing problematic conflicts of interest with NN. The way Aaron decided to monetize his viewership with the marketplace seems wrong to me. People look to him for guidance, and he's basically funneling people into a sort of ecosystem in which he is the one profiting. Didn't seem right. Also, even though he now has a bag brand, he's reviewing other people's bags, claiming his reviews are the "best" which doesn't seem right to me. I think he started off right, and I was a fan of his honest reviews, but he lost a lot of credibility in how he decided to operate.

Just saw Aaron Radcliffe do a short about how the backpack market is dominated by males. I love his videos, but I gotta say, I was disappointed to see that. Not his fault, of course. The numbers are what they are. I've carried a backpack my whole life and love traveling with them (not a purse person). I probably have about 30 backpacks in my closet right now. I watch all the reviews, like you, but feel that the market needs more female reviewers, or ones that take female carry needs into consideration. I ordered one of the Fyro backpacks on KS, but I'd love to see your review of the Fyro and how you pack it out!

This video was suggested to me out of the blue - probably because I follow Nomads Nation. I, like you, make a hobby of watching backpack reviews ever since I fell into the rabbit hole pretty much the same way - google some backpack I see at REI then find out there are a bunch of niche bag makers making super-exciting stuff (at high prices, but still exciting 😊). I had been in the market for a person-item-sized pack that was expandable so I could use it for travel, but then as a smaller daypack at destination. I’m over 6 feet tall, so my daypacks are minimum 20 liters. I kinda got tired of packing a daypack inside my travel backpack and wanted to carry only bags that would be useful in transit. Lo and behold, the Fyro was introduced, and each iteration got closer and closer to exactly what I was looking for! So, I am also a Fyro backer and can’t wait until December 🎉 As others have pointed out, the quality is definitely a gamble, but it’s GOT to be better than your random $50 bag off Amazon. I owned a Kopack backpack for a long time that I got off Amazon for cheap and it was great. I will take my chances.

Great vid. I backed on KS mainly for it being budget airline friendly and wanted to support him. This will be my 2nd expensive bag, Tom Bihn Synapse 25 was the most. Looking forward to it.

This video came up in my feed because I also watch a ton of backpack reviews. Looking forward to your review of it. I've noticed with most expandable backpacks, the carry isn't as comfortable. Hopefully it's good with this one, esp at this price point. Another concern is the accessibility of the vertical front pocket. Reminds me of Boundary Supply's Aux Compartment. I haven't been able to bring myself to spend that much on a pack or brand that's never hit the market yet. You might also like Boundary Supply or Black Ember. Similar aesthetics.

having that many bakers just means he has a following thats willing to throw money at him...its not a tested product so there is just as much risk as any person whos never made a bag before...also his focus group was 6 people that he probably is friends with so why would they even be honest with him...vertical zippers are horrible practically

You are literally me when it comes to my backpack passion. Just like you, I've followed Aaron's channel and his backpack making journey. I'm actually on the fence cuz I love my Aer backpacks. Even though I want to support Aaron, I can't justify spending this much money on a backpack I want and not need at this moment. Make a review on the T22 when you get it.

The Fyro seems like a well thought out backpack except for the front pocket which I think is a fail. It's way way too easy for thieves to access. It's one zipper so it cannot be locked. I would not wear this pack on my back in a crowded situation. The flap is gimmicky and would trap water in a rain storm. I would suggest checking out the Ebags Junior Weekender. As a frequent traveler it has all the functional features needed for one-bag travel. I have it packed for an upcoming 3-week trip to Europe.

It’s been inspiring and fun to watch Aaron bring OUR vision to life! At 5’8” I hoped he would note if the longer bags (like 90% over 19 inches) felt uncomfortable. However, I am glad to see the Fyro at 18 inches! It’s budget airline friendly. Why buy a separate bag to fit their dimensions when the Fyro can do the job? I don’t know how he came up with 18 inches, perhaps from mindful consideration of height/torso length, but I thank him for looking out for the folks, especially women, under 6’. I value water bottle pockets, and I like the Fyro’s but find the pockets to be so high up as to look weird. I don’t have a need for a bag like that right now, but I’ll keep it in the back of my mind the next time I do need one.

I wanted to support Fyro but the price was shocking (assumed $150 on KS) and I actually personally didn't like the lack of horizontal and vertical pass-thru for longer trips. Did you think the front pocket design is as useful as anticipated? it seemed small and the flaps would keep closing. I am interested to see your review in the future.

There are only pro’s of going thicker. Chasing thin-ness is only a marketing thing that some people fall for.. imaging have a 0.8cm thick ipad with todays CPU, you would get more than a week of battery life, say 50 hours screen time

Apparently most of the obsessive people are all Louis followers, Harry doesn't get these questions because his fans don't care they want him to be happy with whoever he loves. They are huge supporters of Harry and his girlfriend Taylor. Harry has always been a feminine guy and he's always mocked that fact even in 1D days. And the dorothy thing was for Halloween when it is very common for guys to put on dresses as part of their costume. He doesn't just randomly go around in dresses.

I’m bummed out you are worried about what Harry Styles wears. Joan d’Arc was burned for wearing pants. Societal norms change. Women wear pants. Men wear dresses- no big deal. And, yeah, I think Lou’s correct that larry stuff may not be real because there are the two private persons HS and LT, and we’re all strangers, so we really do not know H’s Botox injection schedule or L’s underwear brand. But then there is the public narrative from media trained HS and LT, which then gets additionally filtered through our own personal experiences. I don’t know how you can see clear as day that they’re definitely not a couple. Again, we are strangers to them, not sharing their kitchen table. Personally, I suspect that Louis Tomlinson answered this larry Q as a PR stunt because he really didn’t need to allow this question to be part of his FITF tour promo if he didn’t want it, and, as a result, Louis sold out this year’s AFHF tickets in 5 mins. And Louis will sell out the arena in Argentina too. I agree that the manips and possessive ways that the fandom attacks/criticizes/theorizes about real humanbeings adjacent to HS and LT are symptomatic of internalized misogyny and homophobia and fetishizing of gay teens and people’s personal loneliness and limerence, etc. When you touch on people’s need for connection and validation through finding likeminded peeps, yes. However, HS and LT notoriously use larrydom as much as larries use their likeness- it’s a mutually beneficial or mutually dysfunctional interaction depending on the day. That’s just a fact. For whatever their personal motivation, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson are the world’s biggest larries. We don’t know, for example, whether it’s just a cheeky way to joke about this potent cultural phenomenon or a way to send secret messages to fans, but Harry Styles literally sings about having sex with Louis, which is not how one ends rumors. And larries were mostly behaving in 2024, so Louis and his interview eclipsing other front page celeb stuff was all on LT’s PR Team and not on the OT5 fandom or larry/bluegreeners fandom specifically. This became a story because LT made it one by addressing it. It happens every time this question is brought up in an interview. And it was very likely a preplanned story based on the way that people around them reacted to it publicly. For instance, HS’ personal brand Pleasing is 100% monetizing on this right now instead of just ignoring the uptick in traffic, so they’re stocking the rumor flames. And both HS’ and LT’s teams clearly employ people who are very well versed in all things 1D fandom related, so Harry and Lou specifically don’t have to know every theory although they definitely know enough, but they’ve got staff who are 100% fluent for sure. Pleasing posting “simple but effective” on Insta after Lou’s interview had happened wasn’t an accident. They are aware of the lore. Adore Me and We’ve Made It music videos respectively referencing Tired Tired Sea- a larry fanfic that is psychotically popular, equivalent to a NYT best-seller- were not fan wishful thinking stretches or conspiracy theories, but strategic artistic/marketing moves that the rockstars and their teams knew would be noticed and trafficked about. Now, it doesn’t mean that the dudes need rescuing from their glass closets. They’re adults with the resources of the top 1%, so they’ll figure it all out. It doesn’t even prove that they’re definitely together sexually/romantically. It means, at the very bare minimum, that H&L are aware of larrydom, and that they collaborate together or their teams collaborate on how to reference its culture to create a parasocial interaction with their respective solo careers or joint fandoms. All of this to say that I personally view this as a PR stunt and not an accidental random question that frustrated pour Lou needed to answer because larries are making his life miserable. It doesn’t mean that the fans do not make it hard sometimes, but this larry interview- intentionally reignited the larry rumors for whatever reason that H&L or their teams needed those rumors reignited
