I love Yu-Gi-Oh! as that was my game growing up and I still play to this day! You can use card ladder, price charting, or tcg player to look up your cards too. Just remember that the market is always changing.

I am well aware however, some who watch my videos or customers who come to my shop don't understand. This video may seem elementary to some, but valuable information to others. Thank you for watching and commenting!

Thanks for watching and leaving a pleasant comment! I invite the haters as I have no problem chatting back and forth about the hobby in a fun and healthy manner. This video is fairly elementary for those that don't understand the Pokemon market or even how up and down said market can be. All these "experts" saying it will shoot right back up and maybe it will however, it'll take time and I think it'll take much longer than they think. Most people only want the card to sell it based on its price point. Not a lot of people (my customers specifically) like the card because of its artwork lol.

@ no prob it just mean that this is where price and volume are talking to each other and price will move higher after volume has decided it’s time.

I always say the "best investment" in the hobby in my opinion is sealed Pokemon (boosters specifically). I think Prismatic has a strong influence on this. At my shop, all I hear is people looking forward to that set and saving their money so they can afford it when it releases. That set may not be all to blame, but it has a strong influence. (plus Christmas, the holidays, and more copies hitting the market). Thanks for watching and commenting!

I wonder what is having an impact more, people opening more packs and finding more pikachus, Prismatic Evolutions on the horizon, or maybe even Christmas and the holidays coming up quickly. I would agree, it happens to every chase car of a given set. High price tag out of the gate, dip after it's been out for a few weeks to a couple months and then, if the card is still popular enough we will see it trickle back up. I mention short term and long term scenarios in the video. I focus on short term because (as I mentioned) people come to my shop asking for Surging Sparks boxes and packs or want to simply buy the Pikachu. I give them a spiel on the Pokemon market and felt the need to make a video on the topic as we're seeing the price tumble as I've been telling my customers. Long term, it could bounce right back up, but that is not a given with some power house sets coming out next year. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!

Lots of people look at cards as a stock which i try not to do however, those people want to "invest" in cards and hence why they have a day traders mindset lol. I personally think the market was just extremely hyped up on the card and we're seeing it trickle back down to what a normal should look like in terms of the value of the card. "Current market value" is very dependent on when someone looks it up. As of me writing this reply, the plateau on Card Ladder which uses sales via eBay was $577 while on TCG Player the plateau was $550 showing us it also depends on what platform or marketplace we use to look up these cards.Thanks for watching and commenting!

On to something? No, I know it's not a new concept. However, it may be new to some people who don't know the ins and outs of the market or those who are simply new to collecting. I do my best to cater my content to collectors of all levels of knowledge and experience, not just the ones that think they know it all. People have been asking me if I have this card for sale/trade or even Surging Sparks boosters and ETBs so they can chase or have this card when in reality, the card they're chasing is cooling off. The card isn't that great. Prismatic Evolutions will shadow SS in no time. All these bros with "positions" in certain sets are hilarious borderline psychotic..

I personally am not a fan of the Greninja so I don't feel fondly about it as most do. For me and Prismatic though, I want to see the cards in person before I judge "how cool they are" because in photos they look okay but in person, I'd bet they look better. I'd love for you to elaborate on "there is going to be no more expensive stuff for a few years" what do you mean by that and what makes you think that?

Who are we buying and then holding to flip? Cards will depreciate in value over time unless you have a select few desirable cards which most people don't. The volatility and depreciation of value makes it difficult to "flip" those cards you mentioned. I'd love to get your thoughts on who specifically and how. Thanks for watching and commenting!

For PSA and Beckett graded cards, I use ALT. For raw or other graded sports cards I use eBay/130 point. For Pokemon cards, I use PriceCharting. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching and commenting!
