Lessons from King Saul
King Saul began well. He had some favorable characteristics. He was even reluctant to accept the position of king. We often look at Saul's life to identify attributes and choices we need to avoid. But perhaps there's a little more we can learn, as Brother Matt helps us see.

Thoughts from Acts 1-2
Переглядів 3121 день тому
The scene is described for us, but what were the disciples feeling leading up to the day of Pentecost? What would it be like when the Holy Ghost came upon them, as Jesus told them He would? Was Peter really the man for the job of spokesman? As Pastor Matt often encourages the hearer, let’s get into the scene together.

Doubts and Questions
Переглядів 322 місяці тому
We all have them. God doesn't get angry when we doubt, when we question. However, those doubts and questions ought to drive us to pursue God more fiercely, to seek Him more fervently. But be on guard... when the enemy detects our doubts, he is ready to move in and tempt us to question God's character, His good will, and even His very existence.
Exhortation to Exhort
Переглядів 76Рік тому
One of the spiritual gifts named in Romans 12 is the gift of exhortation. Whether it is encouragement, comfort, instruction, or entreaty, we all are granted opportunities to exhort our brothers and sisters in Christ and those around us. We invite you to listen in as our pastor, Brother Matt, leads the congregation in studying this subject to help us discover how we can prepare for those opportu...
Heavy thoughts from Matthew 14
Переглядів 60Рік тому
John the Baptist spoke out against the immorality of the rulers. He was thrown into prison, where doubts and darkness begin to arise. After the news of John's beheading, Jesus separates himself for awhile to be alone with His Father. In the midst of his sorrow, Jesus is faced with a multitude of needs by the people seeking after him. He has compassion on them, heals them, and then feeds them. A...
Remember now thy Creator
Переглядів 722 роки тому
The wise man exhorts the youth to remember their Creator while they are young. Time takes a toll on each of us. Limitations become greater; opportunities less frequent. But the exhortation deserves our serious consideration at every stage of life. Remember your Creator now, while time and opportunity remain.
John 11

The little family of siblings, Mary, Martha, and Lazarus, were blessed to enjoy a special relationship with Jesus. John chapter 11 is well known for its account of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead but also contains many other beautiful truths as well as practical lessons.
Babes

Babes... someone who is young in age physically, or someone who is young in age spiritually. Each has their good points but each has characteristics that are not so commendable. Join us as Brother Matt helps us understand the difference between the desirable and undesirable traits of babes.
A Prayer of the Afflicted, Psalm 102

“Hear my prayer, O LORD, And let my cry come unto thee. Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; Incline thine ear unto me: In the day when I call answer me speedily.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭102:1-2‬ ‭KJV‬‬
Mortify therefore...
Переглядів 673 роки тому
In Colossians 3, Paul exhorts us to mortify the earthly members of our body, to put off the deeds of the flesh, and to put on the new man. Because we have been risen with Christ, we should seek those things which are above. That is where Christ is seated. Because He is our righteousness, let us set our affection on high.
What is righteousness?
Переглядів 653 роки тому
What is righteousness? What does it mean to be righteous? To live righteously? Where does this righteousness come from? “...ye have put off the old man with his deeds; and have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:” Colossians‬ ‭3:9-10
Let us hold fast

“Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) and let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:23-25‬ ‭KJV‬

I remember specifically one of the times I felt so low--I remember so much, I can still see myself there, but I had a strange joy at the same time, and I was thinking about the Lord.

I think you are using the wrong definition for “judge.” You said, “to judge is to pronounce rightness or wrongness about that thing, in this case people.” “Judge” can mean more than one thing and in the context of this Scripture, I think the word “judge” includes a sentence. When a judge rules in a court of law, he hands down a sentence when the person is found guilty. In the case of the church, judgment sometimes includes exclusion. We have the authority, as a church body, to judge our own members in this way, with a sentence of exclusion. We do not have this authority over people who are not members of the body to judge in this way. We DO, however, have not only the right, but the DUTY, to judge people outside the church in the sense of pronouncing rightness or wrongness when it comes to actions, behavior, and beliefs. For example, if you have a friend who is committing adultery, you should indeed confront that person and tell him what he is doing is wrong. You do so out of concern and love. You know adultery could destroy his marriage/family. God’s standards are the only moral standards, and we are to stand by those and stand up for those. These are two different “judging,” one we are to do regarding people outside the church, the other we are not to do regarding people outside the church. I think this is what Paul is trying to clarify. I think in this day and age, people use the “you shouldn’t judge others” as a way to silence people who speak up for God’s moral standard. We must be careful not to do the same. Enjoyed the sermon. thanks!

Sir, is there a Cross in your church? You have a curtain, chairs & so on but where’s the Cross, may I ask?

    • @reemsuekar8112
      @reemsuekar8112 4 роки тому

A Bride (Church) must have a Cross, otherwise, She’s not the Bride of Christ. Who am I to ask? I’m just a nobody but I’m learning, a true Bride of Christ (Church ) lives the Cross daily with Her Bridegroom, if there’s no Cross in the Bride (Church) then there’s no Christ in Her, She’s not Alive, thank you though for your lecture.

Thank you for visiting our channel and for listening to the message. Thank you for taking the time to comment. I would have to ask you to please share some scripture that you believe tells the church that she must have a physical cross erected in the building. Everything the church believes and practices must point to the successful sacrificial work of Christ on the cross. A physical cross hanging inside a building is only a symbol. Does the church focus on the symbol or does the church focus on Christ?

Excellent message! Truth and freedom stir me up. I dislike politics, but I think it is important because politicians are the ones that make the laws which protect/threaten our freedom. Football (and all sports), on the other hand, are merely entertainment. In the long run, in the big scheme of things, it makes no difference who wins which game. I'm saddened that I have seen people miss opportunities to worship, to spend time with loved ones, to attend weddings, and to avoid chances to LIVE in order to watch a football game. THAT is idolatry and unfortunately a sad part of our culture. I think we all need to examine our priorities and make sure we are living according to what is important to the Lord instead of just doing what we know, what is part of our culture, and what is pleasurable.
