This is a retrofit of an electronic lead screw (designed by Clough42) on an Atlas/Craftsman lathe using the original protection covers etc. This eliminates the need for change gears or the quick change gear box. When I got this lathe I set it on a roller rack which I now need so I can move the DoAll Grinder around during cleaning and refurbishment. This is also a project lathe that needs a deep clean and refurbishment/rebuild which I intend on doing at some point.

Need to move a few things around to make room for the DoAll Surface Grinder. Here I setup and move the smaller Boyer Shultz grinder that has been around the shop for some time, haven't really put it to a lot of use, in fact its partially disassembled to start doing a thorough cleaning. This video is meant as entertainment only.

Winding the Kanthal Heating element on the lathe for entertainment purpose

Fishing the elements through the grooves that were made in the sides.

Rubbing the back on the oven to ensure a nice fitting seal (as the bricks are quite soft )

As I use to be a machinist and now do it for a hobby I managed to find this Surface Grinder with hydraulic table for a good price!! Pretty excited about it and hopefully it's not too badly worn as I have some projects I'd like to do with it!! Planning on taking the table and saddle off to do a proper cleaning and inspection.
