How do we teach problem solving? The problem solving videos are part of EdX platform based course supplement focused on just that. The rest of the videos are those of lectures, as I contemplate flipping my class some day or some decade.
Chapter 10: Mechanisms and modes for mass transfer
Quick recording of the first lecture in the chapter on diffusion mass transfer. It introduces diffusive movement and directed movement, followed by Fick's law of diffusion. It is part of an engineering course on heat and mass transfer.

Dispersion of smoke from a power plant
Переглядів 41Місяць тому
Smoke coming out of a power plant on Cayuga Lake in upstate New York, recorded many years ago. Shows the dispersion (spreading) and convection effects due to wind and buoyancy-driven upward flow due to the smoke being hot.

Thank you very much
hello sir ı coldnt solve the problem how can ı get the solution?
This video was extremely informative and logical. Thank you so much for explaining the mathematical basis of this modelling approach so clearly!
Why would you use a battery powered calculator on the final exam? I barely use my ti34 on the exam.
A bit confused here. If I discussed exam in this video, it was accidental.
listen to how fucking Indian you are...incredible
'promo sm'
Good values. Knowledge
😮
Why is Tref always 0?
Hello sir, your video is very amazing. I have a question, how to solve transient conditions in multi rooms of buildings with the above formulation and consider 3 modes (convection, conduction, radiation) together? and the solution is not based on numerically
Hi, WHAT TEXTBOOK DO YOU KEEP REFERRING TO
www.routledge.com/Heat-and-Mass-Transfer-A-Biological-Context-Second-Edition/Datta/p/book/9781138033603
The cursor is a bit difficult to foolw but the information is well explained
Thank you for these illustrations
Glad you like them!
I have a question. For the view factor of the earth, why does the equation require the area for the total surface of the earth and not this value divided by 2 since only half of the earth recieves the solar radiation?
the lectures are great! I am following a replica course at my university, but your derivations and explanations are easier to understand :)
Glad you like them! I would love to stay in touch.
Please book name and share link for downloading
Could you please email me at akd1@cornell.edu with more details? I will be happy to provide more information.

Great job, this channel has helped me to understand many things.
would you please provide ppt .
Well explained Sir
Thank you.
Great content! Keep up the good work. A little tip, go and search for SMZeus . c o m! It’s a handy tool to have when you’re trying to grow your social media, UA-cam videos, website etc!
teacher, can we get the presentation. it looks very informative
Please email me at akd1@cornell.edu with more details.
Your lecture are awesome. Great 👍
May be you can email me and we can be in touch regarding how you use the videos.
Great, comprehensive video. Thank you!
The worst way to solve problems!!!!
Thank you for your comments. I would greatly appreciate it if you can elaborate, as I am honestly trying to understand how we teach problem-solving. Look forward to your reply.
Very good explanations sir
Great illustrations and explanation
Thank you
WOW! This is how a teacher should do it. Simplifying things to the level YOU did (Dr. Datta) gives an idea of how good you know not only the subject but the learning experience overall. The spoken words and the pace as well as the practical examples given would make any student confident and feeling enlightened. YOU are a STUNNING example of the ideal teacher all children of this world should have. Thank YOU.
I am moved by your comments--glad you found it useful. I would appreciate hearing from you how you used it.
Crystal clear explanation and the chosen applications fits perfectly.
Hello Sir, I am so excited to find your lectures on youtube. Your keynote at IIT Kgp (ETAE 2016) has made me a big fan of yours. Just a humble request though - can a non-Cornell student like me have access to the complete MOOC. I guess it would be tremendously helpful for people like me interested in modeling and simulations in food structures
Outstanding Prof. Datta
Try and shoot in front of a black background. It'll help to avoid the minor distortions around the corners
Hey, where can i get that full steady state flow chart. I found that very useful. Thank you for the video.
