A Journey through NYC religions
United States
Приєднався 19 лют 2010
Thank-you for joining us on the journey in our postsecular city!
Since July 9, 2010, the mission of A Journey through NYC religions is to explore, document and explain through our online magazine and other educational programs the great religious changes that are taking place in New York City. We are traveling down all 6,374.9 miles of our city’s streets, every alleyway and quite a few hallways to map and photograph every religious site and to interview clergy and lay leaders at the sites.
Please feel free to make comments or contact us with suggestions and updates at: editor@nycreligion.info.
In our journey we often run across people, religious or non-religious, who have no idea how thick NYC culture is with religious faith. We hope that by showing the incredible variety and number of faith details about the city that people will understand more deeply how such details contribute to the excitement to the city.

I remember my parents and grandparents watching Bishop Sheen on our TV. I was a little girl at the time. Thank you for this interview! I could have listened for hours!
Praise the Lord!
niggas in new york now that im older looking a Sesame Street lmaooooo
This documentary is one of my favorites! I loved Tim's preaching, and this is one of those corners of the internet that I come back to whenever I can.
Thanks for the comment. It is always a gift to remember the gifts of God. You might also enjoy ISAIAH 53’S MAN OF SORROWS WITH REVEREND TIM KELLER AND ART FROM THE MUSEUM OF BIBLICAL ART, MANHATTAN. ua-cam.com/video/WuCwmm8cfog/v-deo.htmlsi=QvU-L2hoK9wVtj_S
God is for everyone 😊.
This is great Opus Dei belongs to God how much people try to understand the more they will never understand the shortest way is to Love St Josemaria who will teach you how to be a Saint doing normal little things of each day over coming yourself and loving God and people without seeing their defects and this has been difficulty for many even religious so each one must do personal Apostolate all the time and pray very hard all the time
Thanks, will pass on your comment to David. I am sure he will be delighted.
beautiful calligraphy
❤
Love this interview. Great insights into NYC and the untold story of its role as the missionary capital of the world!
Whatever else you think of these two fine men, they were brilliant orators.
this is excellent.
Thanks for your encouragement!
@afriendofbean I wonder how often you've worn tap shoes? If it's more than once or twice, then you'll also know that as you dance, you scuff the taps on whatever surface you're dancing on, creating imperfections in the metal and causing them to be less slippery. Only new tap shoes are that slippery. The quality on this video isn't good enough to tell, but I would bet that that smooth-looking surface is actually a dance floor, which ensures enough friction between shoes (or feet) and the floor that your moves are controllable. Also, didn't anyone ever tell you that walking down a hillside, you should walk on the sides of your feet to slide less? There is danger in this situation, and that is that the stairs are narrow. These men do just that - Gregory Hines descends in a full turnout, and Savion Glover angles his feet to one side. That's to mitigate both the risk of sliding and the risk of falling off the edge of the step. Buuuuuut, if you still think this one's dangerous, check the Nicholas Brothers out in Stormy Weather. ua-cam.com/video/zBb9hTyLjfM/v-deo.html&ab_channel=TapZatNYC I think you'll find the stair sequence that starts at 2:06 particularly interesting...
Nothing better than this
"Put on your opposite pants, and do the opposite dance, come on give it a chance, do the opposite dance..."
Never mentions Jesus Christ. Only quietly makes the sign of the cross without saying "In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." Read a verse from the Old Testament, not the New Testament of Jesus Christ. Reads about Soloman. And ends with only saying Amen. No finishing physical and verbal sign of cross.
❤️
I visited this location today , Easter Sunday April 9, 2023. Very nice service(meeting.)
Hi Janet, Thanks for letting us know!
I'm glad this book was written. It's great to learn more about the formation of leaders that we love and respect.
I wonder what singular formation of Keller will benefit other emerging leaders the most.

They learn some opposites while tap dancing.
I know a lot of opposites!

Please share my two brief videos with other people. Thank you!
Great compliment.
BOTH WOLFS IN SHEEPS CLOTHING = COMMIES
MLK did not believe in the deity of Christ. He was an immoral man. How can you tell white people to treat Blacks as equals when you treat women as hunks of meat.
Go back to the 1960s you idiot
Watch your mouth. If you dont say something better just be quiet.
Savion Glover and Gregory Hines tap dancing.
A man for the ages!
Two of the greatest speakers of all time
Even though as a child I didn't get the chance to get into tap dancing I still have a super love for it.
For the better of the future we have to learn the past..Amen
Gregory Hines wearing a tuxedo.
(In case you don't know) In this ep he was pretending to be "Gregory The Great" a magician.
So much joy it was great time experiencing this when i was a kid
This from Season 23, Episode 2949 (Airdate: February 20, 1992).

Nice tapping, you two!
He really can preach
Enjoyed the discussion. Exactly the right question to be delving into. Amid the quasi-chaos, it was refreshing to hear the discussion move toward Leaders being accountable for mission & accomplishment. Excellent job. Thanks.
My childhood!
💚💙
Going to places to “educate” people is hard. You’ll always encounter sabotage because of conflict of interest. Billy and Martin were good leaders. 🌎
