The reason that Mirage has a mask on the box art, is because that was gonna be his original head design in the movie, which they suddenly changed, so the box art stayed like that, and so did the alliance battle changer Mirage. Which I think I might pick up and just swap the heads, because at least it looks a little nicer, even if it isnt movie accurate either.

At this point, if you got this one, why get the SS version unless you're a collector? Ok sure the SS is more detail but the transformation is not as simple compared to this one!

They need to make a Nemesis version of the mainline Optimus figure.

That looks awesome! Unfortunately, if they made this it would probably be a Takara release just like the BBM version, so it would be very hard to acquire for some people. :(

all i did when i got toxitron is having toxitron getting the scrap beaten out of him by optimus prime while keeping it off screen as possible

Honestly I was super lucky with this figure. I like it, and I still do. THANKFULLY, mine has perfect QC. However, the figure itself, while I like it, is ehhhhhhh…. Not good. I really don’t like the fact that Porsche is one of the main reasons that this figure turned out the way it was. Combined with the design which was already not toy friendly, this is your result. Porsche…… why? Oh, and the transformation is BAD

Hasbro is drooling right now, with dollar sign's for eyes, and rightfully so! You did an amazing job, it looks sick! Also, what paint did you use? Because i've wanted to do custom paint jobs for my Transformers for a long time now but i cant find the right paint to use. I dont want it to be too runny and ideally it would dry quickly :)

Looks good, I want to try it too. But I'll maybe use a 3d printed Ducati stencil for the logo.

Got this figure the other day, feels like utter crap. I don't think I've enjoyed a mainline studio series deluxe figure in a long time, and this figure reminded me why. The silver paint finish is done very poorly with a bunch of scratches, flakings, and will continue to build up with extensive transformations. The plastic quality is trash, not gonna last with repeated play. Finally, the design of the transformation is just not fun, panels colliding with each other, with transparent tabs all over the place (whoever thought using clear plastic tabs would be a good idea???). However, people are buying these up, so no wonder the manufacturer doesn't care to make improvements.

Some people like you may hate the kibble on mirage here. but I honestly see why its there to begin with. Since Mirage is a more streamlined Autobot in ROTB, it means that Hasbro has to figure out where his vehicle mode kibble is going to be in robot mode. Your opinion: I respect it.

The original (unreleased) G2 Grimlock didn't seem to have stripes that went above the tail either, so perhaps that way was a closer homage? However, the robot chest was (solid?) grey, with the decal then looking much better over the centre of the chest.
