Out of the box it is not very good for anything except for looks. I never got one because it's too expensive for what you get. The diffs are unlocked so it's not for crawling or rough trails as you saw. But most people upgrade everything and use it to tow other rc's

These things always start out overpriced. Once the initial push is over, the distributors cut the the prices heavily. I just got the HB R1001 for under $140. US, and that has a two speed transmission. Great video, I enjoyed it!

You really dont need a $200-$500 rig to have fun. I have plenty of fun with all my wpl trucks and they all have proven very capable even in rtr form or just a wheel/tire upgrade and a metal drive shaft. Cheap, fun and great memory makers when youre living in a world of high inflation.

I think the issues with these is to make them more capable you’ve e gotta throw money at them. For a bit more money you can pick up something up the FMS fcx24, FTX outback mini, scx24 deadbolt to name a few that will be better out of the box for how much it’ll cost to upgrade these
