2019 Yamaha MT-07 Spark Plug Change
Переглядів 24 тис.4 роки тому
If you're here just for specs, the spark plug gap is 0.031-0.035" and the spark plug torque is 9.8lb/ft If you want to watch the rest of the video, it'll show you what all needs to be removed to get access to your spark plugs. Of the bikes I've worked on this bike is about as easy as it gets. I'm a fairly slow mechanic and if you include the oil change, it took me about an hour to do this.

Not a full installation video, but hopefully it helps. EDIT: YOU WILL NEED TO REMOVE THE PLASTIC TANK COVER. You will also need to loosen the bolts securing the gas tank (5mm allen bolts x4 on either side of the gas tank and a 12mm bolt at the front of the gas tank). This will allow you to move the tank over to the side just enough to get at the bolts on top of the ABS pump/module. The torque s...

Fitted these soft saddlebags to my MT-07. Overall I like the look of them and the build quality is solid. Only gripe thus far is they can potentially wear at the paint if not careful.

This is not a how-to, but maybe some inspiration and encouragement to check the valves on your own bike. I am just a UA-cam-trained mechanic, so literally anyone can do it. I did forget to mention - Get a paint marker for your cam chain! I used one to put marks on the chain and it's location on the cam sprocket, and I think that will make life a bit less stressful on reassembly. No matter your ...

Anyone doing this job and you’re struggling with the coil packs, THEY ARE NOT THREADED put some gloves on and shake it side to side while pushing up on it. When you go to put them back in put a small amount of dielectric grease on the top of the coil and bottom and it makes it way easier next time.
what
In order to avoid the bags rubbing against my turn signals i took a threaded rod to make sure there's a certain and fix distance inbetween, that's Point nr 1, point nr 2 is that for some reason the first time i rode with them on my MT07, somehow the right one must have been in contact with the exhaust and nearly burned through the fabric... The seller said i was the first one with this kind of problem but i hardly believed him
Thia shit is crazy, i got myseld one of these and without laying my hands on to "improve" them in order for them to work properly, they are absolute trash, better just throw your money out of the window or give it to someone who really needs it
What type of XR is this? XR650?
@@DustySteel this was a XR650L
Dont have to replace the washer?
Hey man, thanks for the video. One question, can it be used with passenger?
They don’t sound very good. I’m coming from a 2016 gsxr600 to sv1000 2005.
Realmente no hace falta quitar el tanque para cambiar la bujía. Solo quitar el plástico del costado y ya esta.
hey man love the bags! but im looking at the backside of my mt07 rear pegs, and see no bolt holes where you mounted new luggage bracket.... how did you go about mounting them ?? im confused
The Bracket for the Bag Supports uses the same mounting points as the rear passenger footpegs, it get sandwiched between the fame & foot peg mounts
Anyone who is having a HARDTIME REMOVING the COIL PACK, I used a long nose hose plier (the ones with the clamp angled). Since the clamp is angled, it would roughly be horizontal with the coil while the handle of the plier will be angled upward and out. The clamp will clamp the "neck" of the coil pack, I placed another tool like a screwdriver to provide the fulcrum, and press down on the handle, raising the clamp upwards. That did the trick for leverage that my hand couldn't provide. It doesn't damage the coil pack either (just don't squeeze on the clamp hard).
Thanks very much, helped me lots
I rotated coil pack like a screw when i was installing them ,did i damage something just curious
No, it spins freely.
Still watch this video every so often, it's amazing how much Menifee has changed. Can't even recognize Newport road in the video anymore.
Hey man can i put bar end mirrors on this?
i’d assume so
Just did air filter/ spark plugs change, MT 07 2020 Ignition is ok, all working fine (seems like) but now “check engine light” is on 🫣 Have no idea what is wrong, all connectors plugged, coils on the place, spark plugs are original and new
Disconnect the battery for a few minutes. Then reconnect. Should reset the check engine light.
@@J2I3H It didn't work, I disconnected the battery overnight. The thing is that I turned the key when the fuel sensor was already disconnected, so the bike turned on the «check engine“ lamp. I removed the light with the computer, further analysis did not show any errors, and everything works fine. I’m writing for people, maybe someone has had a similar situation, don’t be scared to work on things, but be ready for unexpected things coming out, the beauty of this is experience and probably a few new tools in your arsenal :)
Hola, tengo una transalp 600 con motor restaurado entero. Las marcas en el arbol de distribución esta. Como en tu video,no estan totalmente paralelas . ¿ Sabes por que sucede eso? Grcaias.

@@code3kc unfortunately ur still learning
@@code3kc no payout bc ur fault
Do you need to drain the tank first? or can it be done full.
You can do it with the tank full, but it'll be easier to lift and move out of the way with less gas in it. I didn't have to disconnect any fuel lines to move it
I could not remove the coils, they were so tight and no enough room for my hand to twist them...
Link to the rear line parts? Can seem to find what they Are called
Please correct it’s the T mark! Put it somewhere in the Title or whatever because i believed you and didn’t look in the manual and bent my exhaust valves
Great Video. Can you please link where you bought these from.
Did you have any problems with the camshaft eaten up the rocker arms cuz I have a hot cam in my bike and I set up the same way you got yours and stuff I even put extra oil on the cam and I also put some other stuff on there to keep it so it has lubrication with it starts up cuz there's no oil going up there yet all right let me know okay thank you
This was awhile ago, but I don't recall having any oil consumption issues
Thanks for the how to, bike is at 15k miles and needed new plugs since 12k. Full yoshi as well and you can tell it’s lean from the plugs being white/rusty. If you have an exhaust I would get a tune asap. Bought the bike at 12k and after seeing the plugs I’m getting a tune asap.
I have these bags on my mt 07 2021for about 1 year now and works great. But it hits the back signal light and one side is coming apart. Was wondering, if you have that problem. Thinking of changing to a tail tidy but not sure which one.
I did have that problem, it touched but I don't remember them rubbing against the turn signals too bad. I had a Yoshimura fender eliminator that was nice build quality
Hi, according to the website of Yamaha this bags don’t fit on the 2021 model. Did you have problems installing this?
Aren’t you supposed to weld that decompression hole????
Man, I forgot what twisty roads look like. Don't ever move out of CA. ✌️
Dude I was just thinking about you yesterday, I was riding the 243 and was remembering when you smoked me on your GSXR

I wanna put clip-ons on mine, which ones are these? I can't find them using the search on their site
What year is your bike? At the time I ordered I think I had to search for the year prior (same generation) and it seemed to open up the search quite a bit
@@code3kc 2015 - found some on ebay; what are you saying about cheaper replica ones? no good / acceptable? Do I need to get an adjustable rearset as well / is it highly recommended?
@@user-ot1dv6ri4f I'm not saying anything about cheaper replica ones lol. There's probably a lot of options, however motorcycling carries enough risk so I've always leaned towards installing known quality parts. As for the rear sets though I would highly recommend. Not necessary, but when you put the bars on your knees will be more in your chest at full tuck/aggressive riding. It's not as noticable when just cruising along/upright, though.
@@code3kc thanks for your reply
Great Video. Good explanation
Why is the open side of the bearing pointed to the sprocket and not the closed one? If it's the other way around the oil from the reservoir would soak it all the time, instead of only being sprayed oil through luck...
I came here to look at videos about the mto7 WTF is this? Lol
Great video thanks, does this change the overall riding position?
What website did the get the steel braided line and what’s da size on the stock ones ? I need a cable with like 4 more inches then the stock line
The company Galfer used this bike to model the steel brake lines off of. They're really helpful, I'm sure if you give them a call they could set you up. You building a stunt bike?
With my brother-in-law, we once had a screw inside the engine .. moments of horror because the calculation of the cost of buying the gaskets fired, only after a few minutes I came up with the idea that you can turn the engine upside down and shake the screw out, which we did with success.
Where did you get the oil cooler? I have a XR400 which I want to upgrade to 440cc and I would like to install a oil cooler!
i want to put steel braided line when i need to replace my rubber ones. Thanks!
do you think that is possible to elbow drag with that clip ons?
I don't think it matters what bars you have to drag elbow lol
Where did you buy those spark plug bro?
I think I just got these on Amazon lol
Dude great vid. Oddly enough we have the same exact bike, same bars, same rear sets, same exhaust, same keychain but mine is orange. that’s dope I’m in love with the bike. Do you run mirrors?
One of the best bikes ever 💯💯
Coolant corosion seepage. Stray voltage in coolant. Drain fill. Put positive lead in rad opening ground other lead. Half a volt in coolant is baaad.
Hi can you carry these bags fairly easy into your place of work from the bike? Im thinking of getting something like this but would need to carry the bags and the stuff inside into my work place.
Oh yeah super easy. I carried this into work as well. To take off and remove is just the 2 clips, but it was still super stable at speed. They weren't the cheapest option but definitely worth it.
Need descompresionador???
Sell me those stock bars, I got my bike used and I think mine are bent...
Sorry, the bike and bars are long gone :( But if you think the bars are bent I'd check for other damage elsewhere
